What Digg's Picture Section Should Look Like...[Pic]
flickr.com — This is a mock up of how I envision Digg's picture section to be like. I think it should automatically mirror all the images, keeping the original source available, and it should display all images simultaneously so diggers can browse the photos easily. I think the feature of it automatically cataloging images a great idea. what do you guys think
- 19 diggs
- digg it
- TheWiseNoob, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5Very nice mock-up. It would look better if all images were resized to a predetermined length and height on the main page though.
- tw0bit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2ya it was difficult to come up with a scheme for resizing...thats something that can be worked on

- Universal, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Part of the excitement is reading the title and description before clicking on the link to see the image, not just seeing the image without a title or description (even though pictures speak for themselves, most of the time).
- tw0bit, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1this is true...but the majority of the time, the title and all is just to describe what it is exactly...its not perfect, i realize
- kablaaamo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Considering that you have the option of which stories are displayed as your digg homepage, perhaps there could be some sort of option that allowed you to toggle the ideal photo section from text view (with titles, descriptions and such) to a thumbnail view (where you could just scan the pictures themselves) according to your preferences.
Sweet mockup though! I especially like the frame on the right that seems to be a slideshow sort of feature. That'd be truly AMAZING. (har har.)
- unitedstatians, on 10/10/2007, -2/+1Kevin Rose has already alluded to this, the Picture container will be named "Images" (like the other Goliaths call there pic sections) and come after News in before "Vlogs".
"hmm : )" ...Which I bet really means... "already working on it"
