WALL ART - Amazing Photos of Murals on Office Walls, Bedrooms, and More
thecoolhunter.net — For thousands of years, humans have not been able to leave the surface of the walls around them untouched. So how have we allowed our walls to morph into boring expanses of beige, bland blank? Are we afraid to let our lives and our passions show on our walls?

Because we don't want to go to jail and get f*ck'd in the ass. - qbix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1A guy by the name of Daim (my favorite graffiti artist) does comissions. Check it out:

- Kevinb1577, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4very cool, this reminds me of the hotel with all diffrent rooms designed by separate artists..
- SteelFrog, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Must have missed that one. Do you still have the link somewhere? Sounds interesting.
- rasterbator, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2On a serious note, once you do something like that on an expanse that big, you commit the space to a specific, color, theme, style, mood, etc. By the time the expanse is finished, you may be at the point where you have another idea and want to redo the art. Furniture and accessories will forever change, and costs for your space will skyrocket! This makes sense for installation art, party rooms/facilities, and some public and commercial possibilities, but it is too trendy to do in your home since style is always changing, and your art will become obsolete quickly. This is why homes are (generally) painted traditionally (or with minimal decoration); traditional styles, colors and objects have longer staying power, and most homeowners (who are not artists) do not want to spend their time painting walls, but rather enjoying their space.
- Miser3, on 10/11/2007, -3/+1do you think if I work real hard and go to art school that I too can have a 404 error on my wall?
- GangsterCompute, on 10/11/2007, -3/+0Where's the mirror?

I assume you are replying to BOTH prior posts?
Anyway, these two provide a great reason that we prefer to hang pictures instead of paint them on the wall -- personal taste. It's easy to change a hanging photo if you buy a house, change renters, etc. It's much more work to repaint.
- DigTheDoug, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4A lot of those are from the spectacular Hotel Fox in Denmark:

- spritom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Well that was a quick crash....
DuggMirror picked it up though. Very cool stuff! I'm trying to figure out of this one on the right is the artist standing in front of the picture? Or is it just a creepy guy that got painted on some poor pre-teen's bedroom wall?

- thenativeraver, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22Am I the only one who read "walmart"?
- Trixrox, on 10/11/2007, -3/+4No, I did too :P

- derekivey, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Lol. I too thought it said Walmart.
- chesbomb, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7i love how the error message says, "thanks for your patient."
- Ahnteis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Hey -- he's a nice guy and doesn't seem to be very sick.
- einsteinx2, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Man even though I figured it wouldn't be on the list I was half hoping when I read the title that the blog writer happened to pass over my pictures on the net and added my wall to the list lol.
Here's the link if anyone wants to see it.

I also have more detailed pics of my wall in my flickr pool (the pic in this link cuts off the very right and left edges) plus some pics of my setup and whatnot.- violentvinyl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Fellow DJ here. Loving it.
- enclave2, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I think I'm gonna have to do some painting.
The last image, bottom left, gray wall with some blues, gives me some ideas.
Any body know how the more intricate ones are done? Vinyl?- eyko, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1It's normally acrylic, with various types of coating (for matte, gloss, moist, screened layers... etc), although sometimes they may use aerosol, but the finished look is not that nice. Floors may be of acrylic or parquet floor boards, custom designed, and coated for durability. My girlfriend's a mural painter... not as creative as the ones in this article though... I'm very impressed.
- navtejkohli, on 10/11/2007, -1/+0Tamar, you crashed their site :P
I don't suppose cute cartoons on the walls of my local bar count as wall art? And yes, I read "Walmart" as well. - digitallysick, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Lol i thought it said "walmart amazing photos of murals on office walls, bedrooms and more" i was thinking, bedrooms at walmart? I guess they are always open haha
- SirPsycho, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0The top right picture looks familiar. Is it from an album cover? Please place it for me. Pennywise maybe?
- Uberperson, on 10/11/2007, -2/+0Yup..totally saw Walmart >.>
- stoikiometry, on 10/11/2007, -2/+1"For thousands of years, humans have not been able to leave the surface of the walls around them untouched."
I have, and I'm human. Dugg as inaccurate.- Bajeda, on 10/11/2007, -1/+1You didn't read the rest of the description ("So how have we allowed our walls to morph into boring expanses of beige, bland blank?), buried you as retarded... extra-retarded actually since you "dugg" the article for being inaccurate?!?
- dstz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1I'm pretty sure that ALL cavemen, Etruscans, feudal peasantry, coal miners, really had nothing better to do that nice drawings on their walls. And it's obvious that NONE modern people do it anymore. Or maybe this is just a stupid argument to romanticize wall pictures.
- TehSwat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Not that amazing.
- Elliuotatar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0This reminded me that I was considering painting my boring new used white car with something more eye catching, but professional paint jobs cost thousands, and your car loses value if you paint it a color other than a factory color. So I searched for temporary car paint, and sure enough, there are products out there that you can spray on your car to change the color, and then depending on the product, wash it off with a bit of scrubbing, or use a special removing liquid. The latter seemed to be the better looking paint, being glossy. Plus it says your paint will fade evenly.
I was wondering, has anyone tried any of these temporary paint products? Do they look like real paint? Do they go on even? Will they damage my paint job in any way? - RagnerD, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1That stuff cool but I just too cheap to pay someone to come paint my walls. I put scribbles on my walls instead.

The Space Monkey kicks ass! - 1popeye1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+0LOL, I'm too cheap too, but I bet don't scribble on my walls as much as you do.
http://www.paint-by-number-wall-murals.com - DaDiggCode, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1This is an amazing site, though I checked out http://www.findamuralist.com and found that there are tons of people actually painting walls.
