- ebcreasoner, on 11/15/2007, -1/+1How is it up there? I'm slowly migrating north it seems (I'm from San Diego). Currently in the other Vancouver for a year now. Nice here. Just a little chilly. Trees are great. Already seeing the changes here as more people flock north. Damn, there goes the rent. Damn!
Peace- feebie, on 11/16/2007, -1/+2Besides New York, Vancouver is the most expensive place to live in North America.

- bromac, on 11/16/2007, -1/+2I'm looking at downtown penthouse condos to rent downtown right now.
This just made me giddily excited about my new place. I love Vancouver.
And yes, you can refer to me as pimp. Don't look at these places if you don't make six figures. Vancouver is insanely expensive to live in. - xpankrat, on 11/16/2007, -0/+2Prepare to pay 400-500k for 700 sq.ft. Vancouver is in a real estate bubble right now. Unbelievably ridiculous bubble.
- bromac, on 11/16/2007, -0/+2Popping 2010.
I'm still going to rent for a bit.

- Mischa, on 11/15/2007, -1/+2It's a crappy day today I'll tell you. And as a photographer, it doesn't help, cause I have to shoot a group photo and I usually use the mountains as a BG.
- Assezdefromage, on 11/15/2007, -4/+2You love living in Vancouver why? Because you love clouds and fog?

- mattewood, on 11/15/2007, -7/+8Vancouver is gorgeous... I love it here.
It can be disappointing if while visiting the place is just socked in, which does happen.
Great time lapse footage.- kirashira, on 11/15/2007, -4/+6Vancouver's crime rate keeps going up though..
- mattewood, on 11/15/2007, -4/+4Crime is a broad label.. do you mean casual marijuana users getting busted by the police? lol Yeah there's a lot of pot smokers in Vansterdam. Vancouver is also the home of one of the worlds biggest crime bosses, Mr. Marc Emery. lmfao
What's the secret to reducing crime rates? Legalize!

- travisty17, on 11/15/2007, -2/+1(Lower) Mainlander is what he is referring to. As in the lower mainland of Vancouver, comprising of the major municipalities surrounding Vancouver, excluding the Fraser Valley.

- jaundiced, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1you're delusional as all hell if you think Vancouver doesn't have smoke and water pollution issues. it's idiots like you that keep the status quo in tail at all times. kudos.

- leejae, on 11/15/2007, -1/+8You are a disgrace to all Canadians.
- Mischa, on 11/15/2007, -1/+9This is such a nice video, no need to ruin it with your racism.
- MajorD, on 11/15/2007, -1/+2You're not very smart are you Nufa.
- Scheissen, on 11/16/2007, -4/+1Typical canuck.
- BeyondGoodNEvil, on 11/16/2007, -1/+1I'll have to check out Victoria. It's funny how many large cities in majority European nations have China towns, but is there any England, France or German town in China? There's no reciprocity in diversity. Every non-white nation restricts citizenship to maintain their majority status, while we are not only supposed to give our nations up in the name of diversity, but to eventually become minorities. I hate hypocrisy.
- narkee, on 11/15/2007, -2/+7Wow.

- mrjit, on 11/15/2007, -1/+2Behold the power of digg
- Lacero, on 11/15/2007, -25/+4Vancouver is full of racists and anal sex lovers. At least that's my impression when I 'discover vancouver'
http://www.discovervancouver.com/forum/forum.asp?F ...- BeyondGoodNEvil, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1I bet the racists are adamantly opposed to the anal sex lovers... so which side are you on?
- UncleCrapper, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1The forum is filled with trolls and perverts. Seriously, if you have time to post on the Discover Vancouver forum about anal sex you're clearly not getting any. On top of that there have been numerous controversies over the years in regards to moderating offensive comments thanks to a few juvenile idiots that want to make the place a hellhole for some.
- Mischa, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5This guy is so my neighbor.
- runforcover, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2Me too, I live like a block from here...

- maverex, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Haha suckers I live near Kits :P
- limezor2, on 11/15/2007, -4/+4Vancouver is indeed a nice place.
- mojonandha, on 11/15/2007, -4/+13vancouver is the first place i visited outside of my country and i loved the 6 months i loved there. its nice ppl out there are. That is the only place i have been in situations where ppl walking by just smile and say hello. After that 6 months in vancouver i have moved over 10 times to atleast 7 different metro cities in US and canada but never ever ppl were so humble like in vancouver.
They are so into hockey that on game days all their buses run the words GO CANUCKS GO . Yes its true. its truly amazing how you can get pot off any neighbourhood. I know a guy who carries stems of cannibis in his truck and when u ask for an ounce he picks it from the stems and hands it over to us. When you become friends with him....you can ask him to pick the nice ones from the stem.- bromac, on 11/16/2007, -0/+2Ounces?
You must be new here. The good friends deal in Kilos. We're metric.- mojonandha, on 11/16/2007, -0/+0grams right. i am in US & A for so long since then that i got used to this metric systems.

- hockey, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3What an awesome, incredible, beautiful, exhilarating, relaxing description!
- ephrils1, on 11/15/2007, -2/+6I REALLY want to move to Vancouver.
- feebie, on 11/16/2007, -0/+4If you do, move to the Commercial Drive area. Rent is a lot cheaper, and it's only a few minutes from downtown. The drive also has a lot of great cafes and restaurants, and cheaper groceries than anything downtown.
- Walker2323, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but it's loaded with hippies and drug addicts. Bleh.
- Dax420, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1And Italians.
(not being racist, the drive used to be called little Italy before it became hippy land) - feebie, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Downtown is loaded with yuppies and drug addicts. Same difference. Except for the part where downtown is ridiculously expensive.
- Dax420, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1And Italians.
- Walker2323, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Yeah, but it's loaded with hippies and drug addicts. Bleh.
- SSCrow, on 11/16/2007, -2/+2Move to North Van. Its a better neighborhood.

- mykotron, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3And now that the dollar is better than the states. You make more money there too.
- thebillgonadz, on 11/15/2007, -6/+29If you look really closely, you can see a guy getting murdered at the airport.
- bromac, on 11/16/2007, -3/+1I'm sorry the guy died, but I've had yet to hear better solutions to someone going "Hulk Smash!" in a public, secured place.
If you think that trying to restrain an irate man takes anything less than 4 men, you don't know how feisty some people can be. Sometimes they get hurt or killed even when they do the traditional method of throwing him on his ass. Statistically, they chose one of the safest methods, both for them and him. Engaging in close quarters with someone can get you hit, stabbed, and just puts you as risk. Tasering has a low risk permanent injury, it just hurts like hell.
If you could do a EKG and a toxicology test on people before they go all schizoid and threaten the public, so we know not to taser them, it would be a perfect world. But on this planet, one way of not getting gang banged by our local security forces is to not start throwing chairs when confronted by them.
- bromac, on 11/16/2007, -3/+1I'm sorry the guy died, but I've had yet to hear better solutions to someone going "Hulk Smash!" in a public, secured place.
- Heterochromia, on 11/15/2007, -1/+1A friend of mine lives near that apartment but not as high as that cameraman. Spectacular that he shares the view with the rest of us. Would have been HILARIOUS if he got a timelapse of that quality last year when BC Place tore open. The only video I've seen was security camera quality.
- simbelmyrne, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3I love that the description listed "memorizing" as one of the awesome side-effects of this video.
- rastachingy, on 11/15/2007, -3/+6i'm actually working on a time lapse movie of my own and experimenting with panning time lapses... what do you think of my promo? http://rossching.com/eclectic20
- MajorD, on 11/15/2007, -0/+2Your promo video is very cool. Good music, great video time lapse and great content. Be sure to give me a shout once the full deal is ready in January 2008.
- rastachingy, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1you can sign up for the email list on that page so you will be notified. thanks for the comment.
- xpankrat, on 11/16/2007, -0/+2This is really neat.

lolwut - Aquabat, on 11/15/2007, -2/+6I miss Vancoouver so much. I lived there for about 2 years. It's a fantastic city. One day, I'm hoping the Canadians will have me back.
Johnnie Fox's and the Cambie are the spots. - MacLiberal, on 11/15/2007, -6/+3What? Amerikkka is a racist nation? Who woudda thunk?
- freedomorfire, on 11/15/2007, -1/+7apparently Vancouver is in Norway....
- halobender, on 11/15/2007, -3/+5You know I'm not a big fan of the architecture. Surroundings are beautiful but when I was there I thought the building all looked like the crappy 50s buildings we have in the states. Postmodern might be the term.
- echinda, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Have you been to Yaletown (the location of the video) lately? The towers there average something like 10 years or newer. There has been a huge construction boom since the mid-nineties.
- smithjls, on 11/15/2007, -2/+3FTA: "Awesome, incredible, beautiful, exhilarating, relaxing, brilliant, memorizing."
- heh, memorizing, eh? ... that IS impressive. - PopularNerd123, on 11/15/2007, -1/+2Simply Amazing.
- usbserial, on 11/15/2007, -1/+2Very cool video.
Does anyone know what the longest timelapse video ever created was? I'd be so interested to see one somehow made over the course of a year or two. Seeing seasons change would be wild. - jasen, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1kickass video... I'm so jealous of the owner of that condo.
- robszol, on 11/15/2007, -1/+2I think this guy got footage of all 10 days of actual sunshine from Vancouver, impressive. I love my city when its actually sunny...especially stanley park!
- SSCrow, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1This Summer had like 2 straight months of Sun, wtf are you talking about?
- paralleljay, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1followed by 10 months of cloud and rain
- SSCrow, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1This Summer had like 2 straight months of Sun, wtf are you talking about?
- dbarefoot, on 11/15/2007, -1/+1I think that guy lives in my former apartment building. I sold it last year. I miss it, but I doubled my money in six years, so I don't miss it that much.
- nixon956, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3"For more information on Norway, I suggest the Wikipedia Page on Vancouver."
um thanks? - leadx, on 11/15/2007, -4/+4Sorry that's not Vancouver... you've been mistaken.
That's Caprica.
Doesn't anyone watch Battlestar anymore?- max420, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Haha, Battlestar Galactica is filmed just a few blocks away from where I live, and indeed they used Vancouver for "Caprica City"....
- ratbear, on 11/15/2007, -1/+3Love Vancouver. They do downtown living right. They are light years ahead of most cities in North America in terms of urban planning and growth management. We are slowly catching up here in Seattle, and Vancouver is definitely the city we are trying to emulate. As far as the CBD goes though, Seattle blows Van away.
- max420, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1What is the CBD?
- echinda, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1CBD? Central Business District? I've been to both - sitting in one of them now - there is not much to distinguish between them.
- b0rna, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Maybe, however Vancouver is still much more beautiful.
- Dax420, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1Downtown Vancouver is like 12 blocks wide. Makes it a bit easier.
- sintaxi, on 11/16/2007, -0/+1I love living here in Vancouver but I must say I think you are selling yourself way short when it comes to Seattle. I love it there and try to visit as often as I can. The design-sense that Seattle has blows my mind.
