Urban Art Big Illusion
mostinterestingblog.blogspot.c… — Random yellow paint or is there something else going on on a much much larger scale? You know you want to find out.
- 1929 diggs
- digg it
- shazbot, on 10/12/2007, -10/+61It's good... I was just hoping for something more intriguing than some circles.
- Akaji, on 10/12/2007, -21/+9Personally, I was just hoping for something more than a 502 error.
- Cerium, on 10/12/2007, -11/+27So they just put a high power projector up there on a dark night and make some chalk outlines, then mask and spray in the following weeks?
- shanthp, on 10/12/2007, -8/+68I think you're underestimating the amount of work and skill that went into a project like that.
- Rikushix, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Nifty.
- kinesis8, on 10/12/2007, -15/+3The last photograph looks photoshopped
- minusxthexbear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3he does do a lot of work with shapes but is very skilled worked. It is by the artist Felice Varini. He's been doing stuff like this for over 30 years.
here's a link to his site with a lot more work
http://www.varini.org - minusxthexbear, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9sorry, but here's a more direct link for those who don't want to go through the trouble of trying to figure out a different language
http://www.varini.org/02indc/indgen.html - cdahlkvist, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3Wow! That was UNMAZING!
Now, time to get a real job. - ConceptJunkie, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8What puzzles me is why there's the elaborate "shadow" of the bench.
- Tech44, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I agree with Cerium. Shine the light at night and paint where the light falls.
- Dujoducom, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Not to dis the artist, but I don't think there is much "underestimating" the amount of "skill" here. darkness + computer with projector + circle image + paint + painters = this effect. It was the idea and execution that deserves the credit.
- jerrygofixit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Dugg for the sole purpose of making it '1337' (mine was digg # 1336 :( )
- SurrealDream, on 10/12/2007, -4/+71Dugg for conserving the collective dignity of digg (digg-nitty-of-digg, hee hee) by resisting the temptation to put the word "AMAZINGZORZ!" in the title, even though it quite clearly has it in the title of the source article.
My hat comes off to you.- dtribe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16For anyone who's interested here's the real article from the BBC - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/6530989.stm
