sorry its so long and plane hijacking... - Roger, on 10/12/2007, -13/+32Off topic, but have the digg admins even ACKNOWLEDGED that there's a huge demand for a pictures sections?
- pants428, on 10/12/2007, -7/+32Internal Server Error is pretty damn avant garde...
- Ngai, on 10/12/2007, -15/+25@steelfox
Not every single one us has the time like you do...
oh and btw... the dugg down comment by me has some mirrors for the images in case it goes down. - chocobomog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+60At least get his name right so people can find more of his work:

Well, I have'nt seen it beforeand I think it's awsome.

- ArizonaRose, on 10/12/2007, -9/+38This may have been on DIGG so many F**king times, but this is the first time I have seen this...and I am sure there are others in the same boat. Life is a repeat of our past, therefore, one can not view art and creativity only once!
Thanks for sharing.... - 0o0Moylan0o0, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2http://ua.fishki.net/pics9/rob_gonsalves_23.jpg
My favourite, i dont know where he gets the ideas, and skill from, but he gets alot of them both. - WikiEasy, on 10/12/2007, -5/+6Why do you guys dig down @ngai? I can't even open the site and his links go directly to the source!
It's people who do direct links that lead to less blog spam. I'm sick of blog spam on digg. - twinklyJesus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9I've not seen his work before. He is impressive, but, he's no Salvador Dali.
- nimawin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3if you guys like this, you should see this one: http://digg.com/design/Fantastic_Art_of_Jacek_Yerka

- moofer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I don't see how this is graphic arts... these look like paintings. The Graphic Arts usually involves lithography for the purposes of communication or advertising. Wikipedia definition:
Graphic arts is a term applied historically to printmaking and drawing. In contemporary usage it refers to the applied trade-skills of a print technician. These can include the trades of lithography, serigraphy and bindery, among others. Graphic arts as a trade can be traced back to the first instances of the stamped image or word.
- tafkase7en, on 10/12/2007, -0/+86Wow what a piece of work that description is...
- Salgat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11Some of them I don't get, but all of them are top notch artwork.
- gerkin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11The description does kind of read a little like the "hot stock" spams I get every few minutes :/
- dudemanbro, on 10/12/2007, -2/+38I didn't need 10-15 minutes to read "Internal Server Error"
- Obligation, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14With a description like that, how could I NOT be underwhelmed?
- earthman1, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Awesome stuff .... great mind to see the negative spaces and make something of them ... Eischer-esc!
- RobototoboR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This reminds me of salvia. If you have taken it, you know what I mean.
- kubak, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4it's down
- Erik1, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6They aren't "totally perfect" if i can't see them, mirror anyone?
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Look above.
- bebop717, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6That is one fine looking Internal Server Error looks better than the real thing!
- Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30http://www.duggmirror.com
- Pile, on 10/12/2007, -34/+7***** idiot... spell "dose" right won't you? How hard is it for you people to at least appear to be literate? Seriously. Is that too much to ask? Spell check motherf*cker, spell check.
- kurttrail, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16It seems you didn't spell "*****" right, douchebag, and it would appear you did it on purpose.
Seems you don't practice what you preach. - inarguable, on 10/12/2007, -8/+8Hey (gomer) pile, you small-minded, self-centered plebian fool, did you ever stop and think that maybe everyone on Digg doesn't use english as a first language? I consistently read pathetic comments like yours on Digg every time that there is an article description written by someone whose mother tongue is different and their english language understanding or repertoire does not match yours. At least he made the effort.
Why not try showing an ounce of intelligence in your retort, rather than displaying what a simplistic, "inside the box" thinker you are? I mean, it is not like the sheer idiocy of the guy's description did not give you enough fodder to go after it from a logical perspective (ESL student or not, that is an idiotic description, no matter what language it is translated to or from). But rather than doing that, you just had to take the low road and rip on him for being a foreigner. Congrats! - UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5Why are you so upset over a spelling mistake. We can't all be perfect little asshats like you.
- Knivez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10ENGRISH *****, DO YOU SPEAK IT?
- kurttrail, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16It seems you didn't spell "*****" right, douchebag, and it would appear you did it on purpose.
- Steyr47, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9http://duggmirror.com/design/Unbelievable_graphic_art_pictures_by_Rob_Gonzales_37_pictures/
Nice pictures - ncapone, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Very beautiful and serene paintings. Not all of them were good, but those that were good were really good.
- gamechic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This stuff kinda reminds me of Chris Van Allsburg's work.
- swimzach_2009, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1I saw some of these at an Oh My Godard gallery once.
http://www.godard1.com/art.html - madisonman, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2submitted by "sadspammer" .......
- audiophiliac, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Weren't these pictures already shown last week on another post?
- demonotaku, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Interesting, yes.
Cool-looking, yes.
Something about my understanding of reality (I really couldn't understand what the ***** the poster was trying to say there), no.- SteelFrog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Oww, you broke my understanding of reality.
- reevolutn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5some of them are brilliant while others are lacking inspiration, very good overall though
- drunkentoad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15They're good, but not 15 mins good.
- compgeek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8awesome pictures I especially liked the waterfall that turned into people in white robes
- SuperMank, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15They're mostly just "x is some landscape or something in the background that blends into y in the foreground that vaguely resembles x".
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Yes your description is correct, point?
- bamiller3, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8I agree. I don't claim to be an art connoisseur but I know what I like. These just seemed like the same cheap parlor trick over and over again. Not a fan.
- MotionAesthetic, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Agreed, these are hardly what I'd call illusions.
- ThisBlows, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I prefer my black background silk screen Elvis and Jesus.
- TuPly, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I liked them better when mc escher did them 60 years ago!
- loconet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7How hard is it to attempt to write a coherent English sentence in the description? Have people really become that lazy? If English is not your first language, get someone to proof-read it! (like most of us did when learning the language). Damn msn/myspace/mtv!
- greatblackowl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1msn?
- ghee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2I don't believe it.
- entropymaker, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1it seems a bit of a shame that so many have forgotten the point of these pics. its a tale of a story. boys picking out books and to the right boys flying off into dreams? every picture is the tale of a dream. "doze attention" i take as code for being high. just look at em' . thats the point right?
- Sep11insidejob, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I liked most of them, however I still think that Dali is way better.
- Cleanlyness, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1what's so hard about believing those pictures? None of them had me thinking, too simple for my taste.
- russellnation, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5very escheresque. nice
- rmayo87, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1there was a similar post a few weeks ago.... still cool though
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I was thinking the exact same thing, russellnation! Cool art. First time I've seen it even though it was been posted before!
- Lumiras, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Ummm, if these pics are digital art, they're actually dots and patterns because they're pixels
- skyfire1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Most of the illusions are too repetitive and obvious. Still, this guy is a kickass artist.
- tobias1482, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I'm not a fan of the artistic implementation. Too much reliance of a blue palette, the human figures aren't dynamic, and everything is pretty much from the same 3/4 angled view.
- UNL1M1T3D, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2@tobias
Let's see you do better.
- hunkofsoup, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1This guy's got nothing on Rene Magritte.
http://www.rci.rutgers.edu/~jmarcone/magritte.jpg - PapaSkunk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1First of all, this art isn't even graphic in style. Second, usually the meaning of art is to do something nobody else has ever done before. Not only are these paintings full of cliches (a sea of glass), this guy is a wannabe Escher. I would say this is the most incorrect description I've ever seen on Digg!
- Langhorn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow you just described the meaning of art! I totally get it now! Best comment ever! Hell, best definition art EVER! Something NEW! Brilliant, simply Brilliant..
BTW can you be MORE arrogant and condescending in your next post?
- Langhorn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow you just described the meaning of art! I totally get it now! Best comment ever! Hell, best definition art EVER! Something NEW! Brilliant, simply Brilliant..
- computerbynar, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3where can you get prints?
- pixolut, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Its like Escher on pixels.
- riccohasdug, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@OP: (insert your narcotic of choice) is a helluva drug.
Dugg for the outlandish description. - BonhamsGhost, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5One trick pony
- wpjmurray, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Nothing special.
- xdefconx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2They're very good, but more like 60 seconds good...not 15 minutes...
- SgtAl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7M.C. Escher just called. He said this guy's a hack.
- phlogiston99, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Technology? Who else wants to find 10 senators to co-sponsor a "lame picture" section on Digg?
- riccohasdug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2At least it was in 'Design'; I think most [OMGWTFPIC] submissions are placed in whatever topic the submitter finds themselves in.
Technology - drilldown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Method to the madness.
Follows public/private schooling and prescribed rhetoric.
- riccohasdug, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2At least it was in 'Design'; I think most [OMGWTFPIC] submissions are placed in whatever topic the submitter finds themselves in.
- doitintheroad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Seriously... Magritte.
- anomalya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1shows you how easy it is to fool a human perception that doesn't analyze much
- TheKingOfHell, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have the horrible foreboding sensation I am going to see prints of these on street markets everywhere...
- emoj0388, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2I love his work with mirrors. Really, Really well done.
- drilldown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5The mistake of most people is in the comparison of digital art and hand wrought. 'Cause doing it with a physical brush in hand and a mouse on a computer are worlds apart. The thinking is worlds apart. What I could photochopper in 5 minutes, would take months by hand. And there are differences. Not interested in the same things.
Yet both provide a window to the imagination. People would not buy "art" if it did not. It would not be art. It would be a picture. It would not return it's value. Paint Shop Pro lent me the tools for the above left avatar. About 15min. work on Aeon Flux including the resize to spec. Mixed by hand for hours, learned for years, or punching around a bit in some photoshop. Well, I suspect it amounts to something very similar. Expression of the soul without words, sums it up nicely.
Me, I can appreciate the work/talent it takes, the fact that the server has fallen on its face, and most importantly: The ability to portray a feeling through image/art. To borrow a word, Picasso. Money to emotions think fast. - sinfony, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4Am I alone in that I find these pictures sort of stupid?
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Yes.
- jaydoj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2reminds me of salvador dali, good stuff.
- sadspammer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@lumiras, it isn't pixelart, trust me(10 years of experience)
- Schoffstall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2they were good pictures, but they didn't confuse my mind
you would have to be in special ed preschool for that to mess with u - korn91313, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1haven't seen this before either, and it's amazing stuff
- gafasiesornivek, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Is this the same Robert Gonzales who got my Mom pregnant? If it is, post something below.
- gafasiesornivek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dad? Is that really you? I hope they feature us on DiggNation.
