It could have been much more freaking awesome if the movie didn't pander to stupid American family humor (transformers pissing fluid on the dog, give me a ***** break) It also made transformers appear much weaker than they actually are. Optimus prime not willing to rescue his commrade (so weak!) humans damaging (with machine guns)/capturing a transformer (would never happen).
I want more story about the transformers themselves and less dumbass teeny bopper love story. Also the story line was a bit wierd. This cube turns any device into a transformer but kills you if it merges with your spark. I'm sure they could have come up with something more clever.
I wish it would have stayed truer to it's sci fi roots. Here's hoping that Trans 2 is better.

I think that human weapons damaging the transformers is fair, bullets and missles are powerful stuff, the force of them can't be ignored. They use pretty much the same weapons too against each other, and some lasers from what I saw.
