- kungfoofool, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Has anyone else noticed that this site seems to feature an awful lot of "Gimmick" products? These are the kinds of thing you can find in those catalogs that sell crap items that make all sorts of vain promises ("Make your breasts look bigger in ten easy steps!").
Nahhh... it's a neat idea, but I'll reserve any expectations until I see this on a *legit* website. - BlackChaos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2View from inside the helmet
http://www.reevu.com/what_you_see.asp - Gryffydd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That's a bad thing?
- enzochi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1so what does it look like when the ***** behind you has his brights on? looks nice.. but would you really want that inside the lid during a fall off? i really wouldn't want that monitor blasted into my eyes..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This is awesome I want one!!!
Can I digg this twice!!!!! - vernsan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd sure like to give it a test run. Think of the speeders out there all over this. Now if we can only get those people on cell phones at a stop to realize that they actually need to stop that would make my day!
- zodiacal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how does it keep from showing you an upside down image? or does it...
- fkuall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats cool, but why did it take then 10 years?
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just want a photo from inside the helmet.
- nugget, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That seems to me like it would be awkward to get used to, but once you did get used to it you would feel awakward w/out it.
- turbo2ltr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have doubts about the usefulness of this product...or at least how improving your rear situational awareness is going to help save lives. It's definitely unique, but would be more usefull in spotting cops. Since when do you get into accidents with something behind you? What you need is a helmet that uses radar to measure speed of the person behind you, and warns you when someone is on course to rear end you. Now THAT would save lives. And yes, I ride a motorcycle.
- Gaines, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Have you ever pulled up to a stop light on a bike and not had a good view of whether the car behind you is slowing down or getting ready to barrel into you? When you're on a motorcycle you have to watch for hazards in all directions. I would love one of these, but I can't find anywhere in the US that has them available and the currency conversion rate + shipping costs from other countries is killing me.
- mancat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dugg. Such a simple concept, but undeniably cool, and well engineered.
- jk_baller23, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Looks pretty cool, I wonder how it fares. I always loved the hairmet. A helmet that doesn't mess up your hair, lol.
- spectre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What if you've got a chick behind you? Then all you're doing is staring at the passenger.
- FunkyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thats cool, but why did it take then 10 years?

haha yeah really 10 years?? - Omicron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0what's with old front page stories re-appearing on the front page? this was front page news back in November when it was submitted....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1can i still see forwards?
- Dhalgren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They should have done this with fiber optics instead of mirrors... and digital HUD on the visor. W/ a button to turn it on and off and auto-brightness correction. And put it in a Shoei helmet. Then, maybe I'd buy one.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll digg this because of the ad on the left for a "horse back riding machine". hilarious!
- dodger2020, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"how does it keep from showing you an upside down image? or does it..."
Why would the image be upside down?
Anyways, this "tech" will fail imho. The problem is people have been thinking of this for years but after researching it realized that it hurts as much as helps. It's just as easy to turn your head and check your blind spot before you change lanes. Then you have the problem with asshats with their brights on behind you (as previosly mentioned). And even IF the mirror(s) would help you've got the problem of them being stuck in a budget helmet. The only way people are going to buy these is if they license it and the major helmet manufacturers start using them. People are going to be much more likely to buy an Arai, Shoei, Suomy, HJC, KBC, etc than they are a Reevo. - Squeegee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They need that for the office cube. :)
- hholland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, this a sweet helmet, but it seems more "cool" than practical. I still dugg it.
- LordOfTheSponge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why don't you just turn your head before changing lanes?
- NitrousFlare, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the helmet itself looks gay
- ModestJesse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very cool, I hate having to wear a helmet but when I need to that would really be something worth getting. Looking forward to checking it out when I buy another bike.
- xtalman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This would be a great innovation. I commute by motorcycle almost every day in Houston traffic, and would LOVE to have this kind of visual information. Most car drivers don't even see us motorcyclists. I've nearly been rear-ended when stopped, and sometimes drivers do the most unexpected things.
I think Reevo could sell. New helmet manufacturers pop up all the time. Scorpion has only been around about a year and they've been pretty well received. As long as they are DOT or Snell rated, they should be able to sell them, as long as it's a decent helmet and the price is right. - orangetiki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dude, I want to try this out. My mirrors ALWAYS shake. And the main reason I think is to make sure no one starts coming up on ya fast. Cause my greatest fear is getting rear ended on my cycle. I know someone who was, and i was amazed that she can still walk. Albeit with a little limp. And turning your head still doesn't give ya a great view, and then your not looking ahead.
- indication, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, this helmet was developed by UK engineers? I'm impressed, even though it DID take them 10 years to manufacture the product. I guess they were taking too many tea breaks and playing too much cricket. (I think I'm stereotyping England)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0thats a great idea...now if only my gf had one of those so she could see me coming!
