- versualize, on 12/01/2008, -2/+29Dear America,
The Chicago Spire is not enough to sate my appetite for huge-ass good looking buildings. The rest of the world is showing you up. Get on it. - jfdolier, on 12/01/2008, -3/+22Reminds me of the tower in Dark Knight.
- lovemorgul, on 12/01/2008, -2/+14Shanghai tower is the best skyscraper
- UncleCrapper, on 12/01/2008, -0/+10Best what? Tallest? Nicest looking? Environmentally conscious? Innovative? Nicest washrooms? What?
Anyway, it's one hell of a nice looking building. - Wulffy, on 12/01/2008, -1/+10Forgot to say: Have seen Burj Dubai this year. It is higher, but not as much beautiful and interesting as Spiraling Shanghai Tower. This Shanghai Tower is a real masterpiece!
- b9gh47q, on 12/01/2008, -2/+11spiraling + tower = awesome
- Wulffy, on 12/01/2008, -1/+9Well, washrooms. Definitely.
- andrewbr500, on 12/02/2008, -0/+7Bad taste.
- hugopolsky, on 12/01/2008, -2/+9That's not a tower!
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+7I thought penis size was measured by how many countries you're currently occupying by force? The more countries the smaller your penis happens to be.
- harrisbradley, on 12/02/2008, -2/+8"Tallest in China" There's a joke buried in there somewhere.
- inactive, on 12/01/2008, -1/+7spiraling + tower + bacon= epic
- JCEEZ, on 12/02/2008, -0/+5yet people in Shanghai live longer then people in NYC

It's a very big country, you can't fix everything, everywhere at once. China's harbor/river cities are soaring. - Wulffy, on 12/01/2008, -2/+7Will be in Shanghai (and of course in Pudong) in March 2009. VERY INTERESTING!
- TheHim, on 12/02/2008, -1/+6you're not (a) your.
- zenthax, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4I did not know America was a country.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4Do you get high on skyscrapers? (See what I did there ;P )
- damack, on 12/02/2008, -0/+4I doubt America will come close to either Dubai or China.
Thing about those nations is they have a real appetite for these things. Dubai love those really tall buildings while China don't really care that much about tall but they design some really interesting looking buildings and they design a LOT of them.
There have probably been more Skyscrapers go up in the last 10 years in Shanghai alone than in the entire USA. I've been to both Dubai and China and Dubai is defintely going for the tallest structures but those Chinese are building so many skyscrapers its nuts their practically filling entire cities with skyscrapers 2 to 3 times as tall as the average New York skyscraper it's like New York on ***** steroids coming from the West and having lived in New York I can tell you they are quite simply a light year ahead. - InvisibleInk, on 12/01/2008, -0/+4best comment

- airtony, on 12/03/2008, -0/+3I know my government controls the news. I'm in canada now, thats why I see all the negative news. What i mean negative doesn't mean necessarily political. If it's political, im sure my government will control it.
Well, I don't think all the news are truth. If you live in two cultures, you would know that. - GeeksSpeakFont, on 12/01/2008, -3/+6Wow, that tower is amazing!
- crazyzebu, on 12/01/2008, -0/+3i agree...
- InvisibleInk, on 12/01/2008, -1/+4I've been on the observation deck of the Jintao Tower building next door and that's an amazing view. I'll make a point of going back in 2015 and I'll take this new one in for sure. I'm a skyscraper junkie.
- SawButter, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3I better like Puxi at night.
- borez, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3me
- TheHim, on 12/02/2008, -1/+4Yeh it's getting kinda old. First the whining about your oil money building the Burj Dubai, now another uncreative spark of jealousy.
- SawButter, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3Jfdolier:
The tower in Hong Kong where Batman jumps is the BoC.

there are no super scrapers in Africa, so i guess they're feeling pretty comfortable with their manhood there - airtony, on 12/02/2008, -0/+3haha!!!!!!!!
I'm chinese. Sometimes its really fun to watch all the coments about china. there are always some comments like this. Even though the news itself is not negative, people always bring up something like this. I have heard a story that 9/10 news about china in a country(sorry, forgot which one) is negative. I don't know if its true. It does show something.
As far as i know, china is getting better. - borez, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2You lost that particular competition years ago mate.
- pjeremy90, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3wow, that has to be the coolest building that i have ever seen!
- crazyzebu, on 12/03/2008, -0/+2yup =)
- loopyloopy, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3why do they all have to be shaped like that anyway...
i'd like to see a huge platform built way up in the sky, (not like the Empire Strikes Back, because i dont think thats particularly structurally sound). like 3 tall piller buildings and one big ass platform on the top. that would be ground breaking. phallic shaped skyscrapers to me are just ...meh - Victorface, on 12/02/2008, -2/+4It's weird how that same piece of land was rice paddy 20 years ago.
- borez, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2I'm not worried thanks.
- inactive, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3America is way behind here. I guess there is no more money for tall/cool buildings after all these bailouts.
- digggggggggg, on 12/01/2008, -1/+3That first pic looks like one of those sandworms from dune
http://blog.ugo.com/images/uploads/dune_sandworm_a ... - SawButter, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3Looks more like an answer to Dubai's craziness.
- TheHim, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2The 2IFC, or which tower do you mean?
- TheHim, on 12/02/2008, -4/+6And an inversely capable brain.
People of African descent are on the other end of the spectum, in both regards. Caucasians are somewhere in the middle. - Brassbud, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3I doubt the Spire will ever be built.
That said, I don't think people in Chicago have anything to complain about skyscraper-wise. The skyline has changed quite a bit in the last few years, adding to what was already the best in the world. - HappyScrappy, on 12/02/2008, -0/+2It's a golf driving range right now.
- harrisbradley, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3reminds me of the Fortress of Solitude for some reason.
- MasterGrief, on 12/02/2008, -1/+3America must not allow a sky scraper gap!
- loopyloopy, on 12/03/2008, -0/+1who'd be a ball boy...
but no, way bigger than that, something big enough to fit like a street, mini-mall or mini-city in the sky - johanesw, on 01/03/2009, -0/+1looks like your mom's penis
