- tidu, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17I once made a game on the TI-83 called "Cosby in Space" which featured Bill Cosby saving Rudy from evil space aliens. Sadly, it was never picked up by a major publisher.
- ahill7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Oh the TI-86. Many hours of my life were saved from monotoned geometry teachers by the trusty 86. I too fell in love with both TI-BASIC programming and a little bit of assembly to write games. Of course, nothing I created topped the Tetris or Drug Wars (or the similar clone "Drunk Wars" in which the object was to achieve a blood alcohol of 100%). TI-86...I miss you.
- haooken, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Best. Calculator game. Ever.
- attention, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11dude this should not make front page
buried as lame - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Art? Try Drug Wars.
- lightningrod220, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The trick in high school was - how can you play games, without having to use the "Game Boy grip" (holding it with two hands like a portable video game system)? That was the key to not getting caught.
- bombadier337, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2All shall bow to the power of the TI-89. It can do integrals! :-)

- woojoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Yes, Sauron, Master
- dyonak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3TI-Basic was a lotta of fun, I made a Paper, Rock, Scissors game complete with stat tracking, blackjack, and a encryption/decryption program based on Vigenere's Tableau. What I never could do however was pay attention in any math classes.

- devolved, on 10/12/2007, -0/+25318008 is all the calculator art we need 'round here at Digg.
- madmac625, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I love my Ti83+, I made programs to do my physics and other such problems, cool games and pictures. Everyone else just used them to store notes and answers though. Good times.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1and you've got to love the TI-86 over the 83+/84+ as well, since the 86 allowed you to type out code with the actual numpad, and not sift through a menu of commands to do anything
unfortunately, the ti-86 compiled programs before running, (unlike the 83/84 which did it on the fly), which could often lead to some serious load times from my unoptomized TI-BASIC rpg.. - behn1220, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I actually bought my TI-85 in high school specifically to write and play games on. The ability to do math (excluding the fact that all of the games I played or wrote required "doing math" to function) was mostly just an added benefit. So, no, I didn't think calculators were just for doing math damn it! :)

- killerofkiller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the best part about the few versions of drug wars that i saw, was that you could buy negative druggs and get exponential amounts of money..
- jull1234, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Heh, anyone remember the 'art' that came on the ticalc.org archive CD that TI included with graph link cables for a while? TI porn FTW.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Anyone remember Uncle Worm? I spent almost all period every day playing that game...
- jcaino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i miss my ti-92+

- happyman987, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1its kinda sad that I understood that joke
- joejordan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ah, fond memories of programming on my TI-86 during pre-calc in highschool. Looks like some of my stuff is still online from the late 90's at ticalc as well.
For those interested, here are some TI-86 games, coded in both basic and assembly:

http://www.ticalc.org/pub/86/asm/games/ - happyman987, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I had a project a couple of years ago on Calc Art, except we had to use formulas to get the results, not just upload a pic...

~K - Ericular, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Folks, this is the reason we're given the feature to bury stories as lame. How is this front page material?
- ibeattetris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0oh how i remember doing that as a kid
- terrya64, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I for one welcome our new one-eyed calculator overlords.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Is this a joke? No digg. Marked as lame.
- thecompkid, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Brings back the good old days. Ha, they thought I was diligently doing my work. Short attention span FTW!!!
