- brincatmark, on 11/02/2008, -8/+571you suck at photoshop
- lava, on 11/02/2008, -6/+413The shadow is all wrong. I can tell because of the pixels.
- Proctor, on 11/02/2008, -60/+371I couldn't see what was wrong. Sorry.
- doublefelix, on 11/02/2008, -15/+316new layer:transform>skew>opacity is not your friend.
- Bogo, on 11/02/2008, -8/+283We need real change. We've been following the laws of physics for hundreds of years, and look where we are now. That's why my administration proposes to abolish these outdated laws.
What has my opponent said about this topic? Absolutely nothing. His silence is deafening - he wants to maintain the status quo. My friends, vote for the party of change! - athinnes, on 10/01/2009, -52/+298This made the front page? *****. Stupid.
- Oldarney, on 11/02/2008, -4/+232shadows could go wrong in election day.
- Jforsyth89, on 11/02/2008, -5/+141It's more stupid that it made the front page of time than it did the front page of digg.
- aznpwnzor, on 11/02/2008, -4/+133what's dumb is it would've been fine if they just didnt do a shadow at all
- BANTALIBAN, on 11/02/2008, -2/+108The pixel 344 along and 100 down has a RGB value of 555 and not 556
- unfinite, on 11/02/2008, -3/+103The shadow.
- wontstoptalking, on 11/02/2008, -0/+85And having seen a lot of photoshops in my days.
- artwithbyte, on 11/02/2008, -3/+85Check out the ***** laptop reflection job on the Earthlink main page.
http://www.earthlink.net/ - algaeturd, on 11/02/2008, -12/+92These explanations are all wrong.
EVERY shadow originates at the point of contact with the ground. The back part of the shadow doesn't come into contact with the actual 'stand' of the voting machine itself which makes it look like the back end is 'floating' up while the front side is clearly in contact with the ground. So the back appears to be floating up while the front is solidly on the ground. - inactive, on 11/02/2008, -1/+75Now is not the time to experiment with anti-gravity.
- PullingTeeth, on 11/02/2008, -16/+87it’s shopped
i can tell by some of the pixels and having seen quite a few shops in my time - Atsumori, on 11/02/2008, -10/+67yes it does
- omjeremy, on 11/02/2008, -3/+51The shadow is misaligned drastically.
- OneEyedParrot, on 11/02/2008, -1/+45I like this comment because the last and next to last sentence say almost exactly the same thing.
- wolfeater2, on 11/02/2008, -1/+45mmmmm gravy
- MelodySparks, on 11/02/2008, -1/+44Actually, it does have a shadow, it's just painfully misaligned.
- panpizza15, on 11/02/2008, -19/+61So the back leg doesn't have a shadow?... That's it?
- wontstoptalking, on 11/02/2008, -3/+42Then it would have been a haunted voting machine.
- Slade605, on 11/02/2008, -29/+68Back leg doesn't have a shadow...
- dafragsta, on 11/02/2008, -3/+41you forgot Gaussian blur -> 3px.
- Brii, on 11/02/2008, -0/+35I'm going to go through the laws of physics line by line, eliminating rules that don't work and giving more power to those that do.
- algaeturd, on 11/02/2008, -56/+90The republicans used that witch doctor who 'cleansed' Palin to put a curse on all voting machines. If you prepare to choose any democrat, the damn thing just floats away. Crazy but true.
- BlitzTips, on 11/02/2008, -23/+56Probably the one that Obrah broke.
- dafragsta, on 11/02/2008, -0/+33Lisa, in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!
- aznpwnzor, on 11/02/2008, -2/+34pattern stamp-> bubbles
- inactive, on 11/02/2008, -0/+31Hating Oprah is not racist, unless the reason is cause she's black,
- inactive, on 11/02/2008, -3/+32i can't find what's wrong because it wasn't circled with bright red in microsoft paint and it doesn't have the word "FAIL" in giant sans-serif letters.
- thedez, on 11/02/2008, -2/+30I don't get it. Could you explain that to me?
- Meathe, on 11/02/2008, -1/+29Back leg and middle brace shadows aren't anywhere near where they need to be. The only two points that are correct are the front legs.
- inactive, on 11/02/2008, -0/+27The fundamentals of our laws of physics are sound.
- geniusNOTatWORK, on 11/02/2008, -9/+36buried for being ***** stupid.
- inactive, on 11/02/2008, -6/+32best tutorial ever, at least it was for a while.
- dhughes, on 11/02/2008, -1/+26 Most of the time my middle leg doesn't either.
- twiztidsinz, on 11/02/2008, -1/+24She accidentally the whole thing
- omjeremy, on 11/02/2008, -0/+23The shadow has to touch the parts that touch the floor. The shadow only touches the front two legs. It makes no sense.
- centran, on 11/02/2008, -1/+24They "copied" the voting machine and made it into a shadow. That technique can work for simple objects. However, the voting machine is 3D so it doesn't work.
- hdadeathly, on 11/02/2008, -2/+24IT'S ON THE COVER OF TIME MAGAZINE.
- calon9, on 11/02/2008, -0/+21Which means the machine is just falling forward, about to crush the voter.
- reaver84, on 11/02/2008, -4/+24Teach me more, photoshop master...
- inactive, on 11/02/2008, -3/+23hahahahahahahahaha
- callmejordy265, on 11/02/2008, -2/+21so everyone is bitching about a shadow screwup?
- Scaryclouds, on 11/02/2008, -1/+19http://xkcd.com/331/
- godmode, on 11/02/2008, -1/+18Needs moar Filter -> Render -> Lens Flare.
- topato, on 11/02/2008, -1/+18Look at the shadow of the voting machine. It should become apparent.
- rjayt3, on 11/02/2008, -3/+20Thanks because there's NO FAIL!! That's not a leg.
Check out an actual voting machine picture from one of the comments on the post:
