Flush with cash from looted pension funds, they can, and will, prevent modern, effective passenger rail in the United States at any cost.

- MelenColy, on 12/04/2007, -1/+0Someone mentioned the expense of supporting the illegal immigrant population - among other complaints - part of the main issue with illegal immigrants, the poor, single parents - is their inability to get to work - which is why they end up on welfare, social security or any other type of government aid. Wouldn't it be nice to solve their transportation issue one day? I WAS an illegal immigrant (from Mexico), made a run for it at age 5 along with my older brother and sister and Mom who was six months pregnant. ALL of us - made it - we became productive members of society - my family IS what many politicians, racists, bigots, neo-nazi's, KKK fear! - SUCCESSFUL. I did not take your job - I created the opportunity for myself. My family was on welfare, on food stamps, on medicare - my Mom has never driven a day in her life (out of fear for the roadways). It would have helped out a lot to have a practical transportation option for her to use. My parents could have probably had better job opportunities with a wider geographic range. NONETHELESS - we made it through....con ganas....with the will to do it. Call me a dreamer...but I am here because of a dream....this maglev train may be just a dream to some...for others it is and will be very real one day. But only if the public demands it with a clear and powerful united voice....ring a bell anyone???
