- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -1/+26I want one...now.
- zscottkilgore, on 06/12/2008, -0/+19Woah, look at those dashboard controls... and the (relatively cheap) price ... and just the design... SICK!
- sterntastic223, on 06/12/2008, -0/+14Won't fit my garage but awesome nonetheless.
- Aupajo, on 06/12/2008, -0/+13Yeah, it's a huge improvement on the A4:

LOVE the idea, but it represents freedom....soo..fuhgetaboutit. - gavinhudson, on 06/12/2008, -1/+13The first step toward a personally owned flying car?
- frozzenst, on 06/12/2008, -0/+10I bet it feels good driving the thing. Probably just like in Star Wars..
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -0/+9whoa - that is awesome!!!
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -0/+8One step closer to my wife's worst fears about me and my hobbies.
- outlaw686, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7How about tiny planes with plasma engines?
- MadNuke, on 06/12/2008, -1/+8"Mommmm, Steven took Dad's airplane again!"
- palmer, on 06/13/2008, -0/+7Excellent question. General-aviation airports are being shut down and handed over to fat-cat developers by the hundreds every year. Then there are the outright crimes like that perpetrated in Chicago by Daley, who tore up one of the country's (and probably the world's) best small airports: Meig's Field. That was an island airstrip right at the foot of Chicago's skyline, illegally destroyed in the middle of the night by this jerk.
People think GA is the playground of the rich, but in fact most GA pilots can barely afford their lessons and a ratty plane from the '70s or '80s. And now they can't afford fuel. But yeah, let's destroy forever the country's GA infrastructure and ensure that the air will never be an alternative to our clogged, impassable roads. - CasaWood, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7Now that looks like a good way to travel!!
- inactive, on 06/12/2008, -0/+7I love ICON CEO's comment about these planes: "The passionate consumer will not use these to get to grandma’s house quicker." Great stuff!
- DeskFlyer, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6Looks pretty tight. Even has an iPod in-flight music port. :)
- hydr, on 06/12/2008, -0/+6I want one of those!
- l800LEMMINGS, on 06/12/2008, -1/+6they said that their goal is to get the prototype airborne so its never actually been flown before. I love the design but a plane isn't worth talking about until it has functionality
- HaSatan, on 06/12/2008, -1/+6Id be flying around town hollerin "Im rich, bitch!!!"
- rwert, on 06/12/2008, -0/+5Tight's an understatement -- I'm pretty sure I'll only have an inch of clearance on either side in my garage for this thing.
- ZigVicious, on 06/13/2008, -0/+4I dugg you up on the assumption that you knew A4 was a paper size, and not just the model that would come before A5.
- leonardoty, on 06/12/2008, -0/+4The first minute of the video is a total waste.
- ligyron, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3Good job, you've been here for 3 days and you figured that out already. That's faster than most people. Regardless, money is driving the Internet. In fact, money is driving most of the world
- MonumentMan, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3what's the mileage?
- inactive, on 06/13/2008, -0/+3It might fit in my garage, but landing it on my street is gonna be a bitch...
- ironeus, on 08/01/2008, -2/+5Though the hobby is relatively small on a national scale, with less regulations for the weekend "sport pilot" I can envision an increase in residential area accidents.
Still I have to say -- looks like tons of fun! - palmer, on 06/13/2008, -0/+3Which there won't be any of, since every small airport is being shut down and handed over to developers who pay off the local municipalities' board members. They aren't opposed by neighbors, who see GA airports as noisy playgrounds of the rich, instead of as the important national infrastructure resource that they are.
- DeskFlyer, on 06/13/2008, -0/+3Boeing's 787 hasn't flown yet.... ;P
- hel331, on 06/12/2008, -1/+4i would get it....
- itspuddingtime, on 06/12/2008, -0/+3sport pilot licenses can be had for far less than 7k
- raptor87, on 06/12/2008, -0/+218 MPG 300 mile range
- gubatron2, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2We need cars with plasma engines, not tiny planes
- mkess, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3I want one lol, thats awesome!
- mattnyc99, on 06/12/2008, -2/+4If it gets me the models in that video, I'm in...
- WriterSD, on 06/14/2008, -0/+2I want one!
- egbert, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2To bad they do not even having a flying prototype yet. The one they are showing is a non-flying mock up.
- mandarin, on 06/12/2008, -1/+3So where is your landing strip ? Whats the point of keeping it in your garage if you cant take off or land?
- WildTang3nt, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2I had the exact same thought about my father... and I'm sure everyone else with an aviation buff in the family is thinking the same thing: We're all doomed.
- itspuddingtime, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2that's what the (included) trailer is for... to transport it to a suitable field for takeoff.
- Justice101, on 06/12/2008, -0/+2$139,000
looks more like a cheap Ferrari. : ( - sharp357, on 06/13/2008, -0/+2I would think the point is no tie down/ hanger fees at the airport. Security would be better at home. Enhanced maintenance as you could service it in your own shop/garage.
- beasty_dave_Mk2, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1they do, but someones imagination got the better of them;
called searays'
http://www.airflowaviation.com/SearayW.jpg - pault107, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Let's hope so, that would be pure genius.
- ffttoteof, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Not use it to get to grandma's house quicker?
What will he use it for then?
I'd use it to get to Grandma's house quicker. Hell I'd use it to run down to Safeway. - Aupajo, on 06/17/2008, -0/+1You would be correct sir :) that was the joke.
- slazer, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I want to see a video demo. Start it. Fly it. Land it.
- zeiben, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Next big step is getting it airborne? WTF?
Do you mean with an office chair, some paper mache and a couple of retractable deck awnings I could build a machine that does EXACTLY what this thing currently does? - ZxEfR, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Man this day and age all that's missing for it to fly is money in their pockets to make it a full blown reality.....this could easily be made to work exactly like their claiming it will.....if they get the capital it'll be flying. It only boils down to whether the market is REALLY there or not. At $140,000.00 I'm betting not......I'm betting it's gotta be at least half that.
- Glidedon, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I already own a foldaway aircraft that fits in my cars trunk. I also have taken it on to commercial aircraft when traveling. http://www.paraglidetandem.com/image003.jpg
- thatsmyaibo, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1Even with a sport license you need a minimum of 20 hours. I don't know about you but when I got my private license it was about $150+ per hour with aircraft and instructor plus ground course materials. And this was before the high fuel costs.
- AZSanMan, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1I LIKE IT
