- nard3456, on 10/17/2009, -1/+34Maybe these designers could fix Reddit.
- borez, on 10/17/2009, -3/+26No.
In Soviet Russia, web designs you. - senixon, on 10/17/2009, -0/+22Респект :-)
- LilJimmyNordin, on 10/17/2009, -0/+16Don't worry. I've got it.
- richirwin, on 10/17/2009, -1/+12Damn. I would digg myself down if I could.
- senixon, on 10/17/2009, -1/+9It's not about websites, it's about design aka creativity... the fact they are able to port their designs to the very limiting web speaks volumes.
- koolaid123, on 10/17/2009, -3/+9Very nicely done. It's nice to see that people like to incorporate art onto the internet.

- Deadity, on 10/17/2009, -1/+5This isn't a contest genius.
- WIT415, on 10/18/2009, -0/+3You're thinking in the perspective of an American (assumption). It seems that to Russians a website is similar to the commercial in America, It's meant to be eye catching and visually appealing. American sites are more user friendly and often utilized as a convenient resource to consumers. Two different philosophies of web design.
- Retrodigg123, on 10/17/2009, -1/+4wrong
- OverDriven, on 10/18/2009, -0/+3The major flaw in that design philosophy is that websites are interactive...commercials are not. People have to interact with the site, while a commercial simply requires absorbing what comes out of the TV. A web site can look nice, and SHOULD look nice, but that should never be placed before functionality. Regardless of how pretty it is, if a user can't quickly find their way to the information they want then they will be long gone. The research doesn't lie, and Craigslist is a great example of this. People will take an easy to use site that gets the job done over a "pretty" site that is difficult to use ANY day.
- OverDriven, on 10/17/2009, -3/+5Congrats, *****. I'm not from Alabama, I read the entire article, and I visited quite a few of the sites. I'm also a web designer and have been for a long time.
***** yourself, *****. - foxley, on 10/18/2009, -1/+3meh ...
- jeexbit, on 10/17/2009, -0/+2Nice work from our Brothers (and Sisters) to the East... West?
- action20, on 10/18/2009, -1/+3Thank you, people see "owww its so pretty" ***** pretty, you want pretty, support your local art gallery, I want functionality, I want progress, Now combine functionality and pretty and now your talking.
- ThatWebGeek, on 10/22/2009, -0/+1In America you design a website. In Russia a website designs you.

Воссоздание храма Христа Спасителя велось с сохранением исторических планировочных отметок, площадь строительства составляла 7,5 гектара - IamZed, on 10/17/2009, -0/+1Dugg for the Ostankino Tower
"It is the implementation of accurate calculations and perfect architectural ideas of Russian specialists"
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostankino_Tower - mathcreative, on 10/17/2009, -1/+2yeah I agree. I believe web design is moving towards minalism. And none of the websites showed seem to be reflect that.
- action20, on 10/19/2009, -0/+1who said you were a Russian? Anyways, there is nothing wrong with Russians, but if you say so................NASCAR FTW!
P.S. Simo Hayha?? Had to Wiki it, but nice name :| - Aurora1610, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1Wtf red keds?
- WakeUpToFreedom, on 10/17/2009, -2/+3Anyone else notice the ship and building from Futurama in the OrangeLabel site?
- TBBucs, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1@ Liamoman
Here's the thing, buddy. Despite what people say, the Internet is NOT serious business. Therefore, anything said should be taken as a joke unless otherwise mentioned. My comment had no anti-Russian intent.
And for what it's worth, I'm actually voluntarily taking a Russian literature course this term. I'm no hater. - action20, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1Still an American
- action20, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1When someone flaunts a list of websites supposedly worth showcasing I think they are trying to make that statement.
- inactive, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1Overdriven, except Craigslist is an information-only site. Many of these sites ARE practically commercials, there is nothing particularly relevant or interesting to go digging into on these sites so making a first impression with the splash page is more impotant.
No one goes to burgerking.com to go reading nutritional info or company history generally, they want to see something funny or outrageous, most likely using flash as it's tool. - action20, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1I thought it was funny
- biocandy, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1Turbomilk is fantastic.
- hypesol, on 11/03/2009, -0/+1lovely designs
- emilia1755, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1I agree with action20, and for the ****ing record alot of people in America HATE Nascar !
- action20, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1I was just simply noting that Google is the bomb and it is simple, sorry for bringing my American "NASCAR" mentality to the commenting boards, I should have realized my NASCAR mentality would have been to much for you to handle, I withdraw all my Dale Earnhardt comments, long live Russia! :| -Just in case your don't get my NASCAR talk, that was sarcasm Choad.
- Liamoman, on 10/17/2009, -1/+1yes sir yes sir a fuc*king head full!
- action20, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1I would like to say....as someone obviously a lot cooler than you, as I appreciated the amount of work that that no one sees when using Google...that I am proud that the most visited site on the internet is an American Company. Google is awesome and as far as visually appealing department, I could draw you a sketch of Google's homepage with little trouble, its simple and easy for everyone to look at, unlike some of those sites listed, which some (not all) are a complete mess and more than likely hard for first time users to navigate. Just saying, America rocks! Don't like it, then don't use our products, which includes Digg.
- action20, on 10/18/2009, -0/+1Also, if you want to reply to my comment earlier, you have to hit reply. This comment looks like you calling everyone a douchebag, choad. Learn how to use Digg.

This isn't a contest genius.
:) - algorythm, on 10/17/2009, -3/+3Now these are creative designs. Our graphics designers here in the U.S. are lacking in this area for sometime. Now they are just lazy...
- krzyk, on 10/17/2009, -6/+6Nice designs, but nothing that couldn't be found in other parts of the world
- inactive, on 10/17/2009, -2/+1What good is a functional site if it is boring and you don't want to visit it?
- ForgetyAlex, on 10/17/2009, -1/+0Good idea. Russian are able to think..;)
- Liamoman, on 10/17/2009, -2/+1My god how man Ass hats will make, in "Soviet Russia .bla bla ***** bla. You." comments soon as anything about Russia is posted.
Its not funny its just shows the world you retarded. - jonglebeats, on 10/17/2009, -3/+1That made no sense, dude.
