- rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+60Those screens look photoshopped!
- TheCheeks, on 10/19/2007, -0/+27Aperture isn't even on the same playing field as Photoshop, they're 2 totally different types of programs.
- neko, on 10/12/2007, -1/+25I'm still waiting for Photoshop CS:Source.
- Klostrophobic, on 10/19/2007, -7/+31I read it as "Photoshop CS3."
- tiger2base, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26All i can say is it's about time. I know it's still a beta, but it's definitely a step in the right direction. Rosetta may be good, but it's still Rosetta.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21In class. They won't be out until recess.
- arnar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18I'm all for open source, but Photoshop is still light-years ahead of Gimp.
- wingnut21, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I didn't find a lot for me to use CS2 over CS, but wow, all of these new features will be extremely useful.
- h0f5, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16nice. everything looks good. Hope the price tag looks better.
- Kenet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16the beta is out
https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=labs%5Fphotoshop - Zreitan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Important: A licensed copy of Photoshop CS2, Creative Suite 2, Production Studio, Adobe Web Bundle, or Adobe Video Bundle is required to use this technology beyond a two-day trial period. After installation you will be prompted to enter a CS3 beta serial number for Photoshop. To obtain a beta serial number, visit www.adobe.com/go/photoshopcs3beta_serialnumber and enter your CS2 serial number. Although the beta is available only in English, all language versions of Photoshop and the products mentioned above qualify to participate.
- dvdcr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Great!
Another version i have to pirate :s (poor college student here)
(dugg me down if u legitimate own a copy of CS1 or CS2) - jonathantneal, on 10/12/2007, -9/+20It's also about time for a direct link, don't ya think? http://trials.adobe.com/pub/esd/labs/photoshopcs3/adobephotoshop_10_12-14-06.exe
- yonis, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14Here are torrent links for if Adobe's servers can't handle the load.

- MySchizoBuddy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Where are the GIMP fanboys?
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11i thought linux was plenty happy with the gimp? seems to come installed on every "every program you'll ever need with linux" distro.
- jonathantneal, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9How about Smart Filter FTW!
"Think Smart Objects, but perhaps a little bit smarter. Finally, here’s a non-destructive way to apply multiple filters to an image and still go back and change your mind later (much later if you like). Implementing these Smart Filters like Layer Styles was a stroke of interface design genius. It just makes so much sense. Throw in the mask that comes with every Smart Filter and you’ve got a big winner on your hands. A big pat on the back to the engineer(s) who came up with this puppy!" - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8The panel system they have got going on here reminds me of the Macromedia layouts that we've seen since MX.
I guess Adobe learned something since the acquisition after all then eh? - t3hX, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9@foobar5892
You've got something very wrong... - diggernick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7you still need a valid serial to use it.
- mediaphile, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7i like how the mac os x version is twice as large as the windows version. thanks for the link, though. i can't wait until i find a way to crack this. i mean, i can't wait until i find that vaild creative suite 2 key that i lost.
- cpbrown, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7you are clinically retarded.
- firepowered, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Finally, a damn preview. Adobe have been very secretive about this havent they!
- DaffyDuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I take it you are not a photographer. There have been plenty of useful additions for photographers.
- Teaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@sporkmonger: If that ever happens, press tab and the toolbars will disappear. Then press tab again once you've finished and they will appear again.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Lemme guess... custom animated cursor?
- sembetu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Still waiting to Illustrator...
Anybody, anybody, Beuller, Beuller... *cricket*, *cricket* - kerplunk, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I have been fooling around with Photoshop CS3 (10.0) for the past few hours and I must say that it is a VERY nice update. It is EXTREMELY fast on my MacBook Pro. It literally takes 1-2 seconds to open now. I couldn't be happier.
- m00dy, on 10/12/2007, -7/+11DIGG DOWN WRONG REPLY
- theokandroid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4No they haven't you're still going to buy it, just watch.
- leobaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Looks like they fixed those stupid floating palettes.
- PathDaemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3One thread up.
- Tyan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The only new feature I would really care about, is whether can we finally choose a custom color for the cursor and/or enable dual color high contrast cursors...? This has been one of the single most requested (and ignored) features since photoshop 5 or so. So goddamn annoying to be painting in greyscale and you cant see anything your doing because the background color is the same grey as the cursor. Frankly this one feature alone would be enough for me the shell out the $ to upgrade.
- MySchizoBuddy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Adobe Atmosphere was a try at 3D. now debunked and nothing came out of it.
the 3D space has enough good products that there is not need for Adobe to divert its attention away from its core competencies.
Plus 3D modeling for games is mostly done in 3DS max, because its an excellent low polygon modeler - kotatsu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They still haven't taken on Corel with the natural paint effects stuff very well, so 3D would be a bit of a jump for them.
Zbrush is a useful tool for high-res modelling and normal map generation, but it's clunky as hell and I hope mudbox will mature enough to take it's place. Ultimately though I think this kind of 3D painting will just end up integrated into Maya/Max/XSI etc. - kwilliam71, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here's some video if you want to check it out before you install the beta. http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=327
- sancho320, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3We all know it won't.
- strictnein, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If you're a "poor student" you'd know that you can get it significantly cheaper than that. Sometimes around $200, or even less if your college is really friendly with Adobe.
- farfromrest, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Well whats the word on a new macromedia studio that runs native on the intel?
- arnar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I for one am glad that they're spending time on refining the product itself rather than designing a fancy installer for a beta program.
- crash013, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2http://www.duggmirror.com
- ceribik, on 11/17/2007, -1/+3ok, nevermind as well. I forgot to login as well :). If you don't have an account, they have a few working ones at http://www.bugmenot.com/
Copy and paste http://www.bugmenot.com/view/www.adobe.com for a direct link. - entertainer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Interface is really customizable now.
And theres no need to use Photoshop Interface Assistant anymore. ;) - joeydoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@arctic
That kid above you is in the 9th grade. You think he should pay for it? If he gets it now he might like it, learn to use it and start a company in ten years time.
Then he might happen to be an Adobe approved partner...... and give them ***** heaps of money ;).
Is that bad for Adobe?
Those draconian copywrite laws help that kid? Are they good for society? - ReqX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3No thanks. My Media Access Control runs perfectly fine without Photoshop.
- sldSquirrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2...and why is there still no Flash for Intel Macs?
- LordHalo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I've not touched Photoshop CS2 for the longest time because of a lot of things that has been going. Well, I think I'm going to renew my NAPP membership and get creative again.
- sporkmonger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh heck yes... in particular, the way the toolbars lock in CS3 is at least 1000x better than the way they did it for all the previous iterations of Photoshop. I didn't think I was going to upgrade to CS3, but that alone has changed my mind... I can't even begin to explain how irritating it is to zoom in a on section of an image and suddenly find part of the image under one of the tool windows.
- unitedstatians, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1To change the mouse speed in Windows XP: Start>Conrtol Panel>Mouse>Pointer Options tab. Move slider settings to two , three points faster - this can increase the appearance of the mouse's pointer speed on your screen. Make sure 'Enhance pointer precision' is check.
