- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -29/+75digg everyone down.
- gameguy43, on 10/12/2007, -30/+43well, i for one found this tutorial beneficial. i'll probably be referring to it when i make my next logo. i AM a photoshop noob, and this tutorial helped me. i didn't find it redundant.
digg me down. - meeee, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1http://www.duggmirror.com
- wvannus, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1This dugg-comment thing is amazing.
- dDuk, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2This tutorial could have been very useful for beginners, unfortunately the end result is amateur imo. Go to http://www.alleba.com/blog/photoshop-tutorial-how-to-make-a-web-20-style-logo.html for a better tutorial with more in-depth explanations and more professional results. I am not the author of the aforementioned tutorial btw, but have followed the other tutorial previously on digg http://digg.com/design/Photoshop_Tutorial_How_to_Make_a_Web_2_0_Style_Logo

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -13/+8Everyone check your Digg bingo sheets, be sure to mark "Photoshop Tutorial" off.
- jdonner, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0Poor tutorial; no sound, video really small, little comments, average result.
- Fuqaha, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0http://www.digg.com/videos_comedy/Bart_Simpson_s_Heart_Attack
thats the most negative diggs!! - sapo916, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Are we going for the most buried comments record?
- championchap, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Daaaamn, thats cheesy.
Everyone uses that.. and its so easy to do.. who needs a tutorial for that?!
The reflection is wrong too, the reflection should be starting at the tail of the g.. not somewhere behind it.
Marked as lame. - longboarder543, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Add little starbursts on a few of the letters and you have web 3.0
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8Huge mistake by not moving the reflection down to allow for the stems of the letters.
Here's a tutorial:
Step 1: http://msig.info/web2.php
Step 2: Done. - bobmagoo, on 10/12/2007, -10/+4yeah its looks cool and new and trendy,
but so did the 3000 other logos made with similar tutorials and methods that have been going around the web this past month.
i think its time to either innovate or move on - NeoDreamer, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3A 3 year old could have done this, fool.
- whalesalad, on 10/12/2007, -13/+7Why is every Photoshop tutorial on here these days loaded with miscellaneous ***** and extra steps. Thus far, at least for the past three, I can pull off the same effect (plus make it look nicer) in half the steps. But this is web2.0 we're talking about, I guess I don't want to mess with that.
- ZaNkY, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1WOW this page must hold the record for negative diggs!
Only 2 comments (excluding this one) on this page have positive Diggs! - econofast, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3Wow, this is truly AMAZING! I'm surprised that I've never EVER seen this effect used before. Ever.
- galador, on 10/12/2007, -16/+9I don't think I've ever seen such a high concentration of negative diggs...
- skryingbreath, on 10/12/2007, -16/+9I hate these so much.
- herrshuster, on 10/12/2007, -23/+16PXLGFXr.com BETA!
it needs the r and the beta to be web 2.0 - bryant, on 10/12/2007, -15/+8Noobs are like puppies in that they're small, put all their energy into trying to be cute, and love shiny things.
- Ninjab3ar, on 10/12/2007, -17/+10Yeah, they all seem to be about editing text (Making it look shiny, reflections, etc.)
- hifiDesign, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2Enough is enough. Stop submitting this swill.
- regeya, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4IM IN UR WEB2.0 REFLECTIN J00R TEXTZ LOL
- blackbookdesign, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2reflection is very bad..... should have thought about some physics laws to try to fool your eye, here you fool only yourself... there are some more interesting photoshop reflection stories that i saw here yesterday.... "web 2.0" hype.... where'e the standard in logo nowadays??? ; ) buy some books!!
- right75, on 10/12/2007, -8/+1I agree with what darkmotion said.
Now our web sites can all look exactly the same. - gthyb, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5how the hell did this make it to the front page? kevin, i call shenanigans on your algorithm.
- Recode, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Worst. Site. EVER. learn2design.
Actually I take it back. We were all amateurs at some point of our lives. Good luck, hope your work improves. - Fuqaha, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2whoevr (without the 'e') postd ('e' again) this most b a complt (e?) nood!! dumb..
- darkmotion, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3The reflection effect is so lame now. It used to be nice when used subtly in the past, but now all the n00bs jumped on the web 2.0 bandwagon when their sites don't have anything to do with the 2.0 fad. I mean, its a nice style, but it is starting to get ridiculous with the whole we being in "beta"
Could have at least added a nicer alpha fade to the reflection, or found a cleaner way around the tails in the characters. - quamb, on 10/12/2007, -12/+5ontop of that - half these tutorials are basic photoshop techniques, not sure why you'd need a tutorial in the first place.
should read "Photoshop Tutorial >> Circle Selection Tool and Gradients" - sputza, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1I don't think I have seen so many comments dugg down on one page... WOW
- aaron.dunlap, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5yeah honestly that tutorial sucks. simplistic editing with a crappy looking result
- gboodhoo, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2While this tutorial isn't the best (or worst), and while the glossy reflective logo thing is of dubious aesthetic value when seen for the 10000th time, exercises like this encourage beginners to dig a bit deeper into PS. What could be wrong with that?
- herrshuster, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2newbie...meaning
YOU DON"T KNOW THE RULES OF POSTING COMMENTS ON STORIES!?!?!
ok seriously...at least find a relevant story - ashchristopher, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3I swear... the GNAA must have organized a massive "digg down" campaign!
- Danyc, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1i've seen better polished text in warsaw.
- pumacub, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5Ok, this is just plain stupid.
- Flashman, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2Good point, something didn't look quite right but I couldn't put my finger on it. Cool tutorial otherwise (and thanks for the link to the 'logo creatr'!)
- Fuqaha, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4gosh..
see this...
http://www.digg.com/videos_comedy/Bart_Simpson_s_Heart_Attack - MacHarborGuy, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2this one is step by step in a web page, that one is a video that would have to be rewound and fast forwarded, duh
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+0PS might be easy, but it isn't for all those who're on computers for Forum posting and chatting, I have no problems to PS, prefer GIMP though, and this tutorial would be a great Messiah for no0bs.
What's with all the negative diggs? - Jelfish, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2I think it would have been better if the reflection were distorted somehow rather than just an upside-down copy. I don't think it's possible for a light source to create an image on a semi-reflective surface like that.
- painting, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2whats the difference between this and http://www.alleba.com/blog/2006/09/26/photoshop-tutorial-how-to-make-a-web-20-style-logo/
they've both been dugg. - ionbattle, on 10/12/2007, -14/+6Jesus.
Would you quit it with the simplistic web 2.0 photoshop tutorials. Anyone with half a brain and a few months photoshop experience can do that...it's not ***** hard... - slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -14/+6reminds me of how ugly GRADIENTS were back during the dawn of dot com
- SatanicPengiuns, on 10/12/2007, -10/+2dont know but whoever got this front page.....send me a message, maybe help with my photoshop tutorial stories lol
- wolver1ne, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4***** tutorial...
- vhtrading, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1It's negative because the tutorial is poorly done and produces mediocre results. Anyone with a week's worth of experience with Photoshop could have probably done just as good as if not a better job.
Marked as lame. -
