- BornWithRage, on 11/07/2007, -44/+1051Seriously, i'd only believe this story if 'girlfriend' was replaced with 'mom'.
- wvdavis, on 10/20/2007, -25/+717For real... Pics or she does not exist.
- Catalyst, on 10/12/2007, -4/+347Your skill in cooking has increased by 1
- indyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+323Marry her. She bakes and supports your habit. Seriously, pop the question.
- pegothejerk, on 10/12/2007, -3/+158Useless without pictures of the girlfriend. Could be an icing slinging robot he built in spare time.
- Thuktun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+125@kristov "Oh and my wife DOES NOT BAKE!"
Must resist urge to ask if she blends. - dshPls, on 10/12/2007, -4/+116Do you habe thoughts like this often?
- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -7/+104"...we're not all nerds!..."
"...I went to the Midnight release of the new Expansion..." - NewChar, on 10/12/2007, -6/+103Yeah, your girlfriend hates when I just sit in front of the PC and don't pay attention to her.
- sonochamp, on 10/12/2007, -3/+72How romantic.... and you're single because?
- kristov, on 10/12/2007, -5/+72Third! Actually give her to me, I play WoW excessively and all I get is heartache from my wife.
Oh and my wife DOES NOT BAKE! - luvlyssa, on 10/12/2007, -4/+69Cute... I'm a girl (no really I am). I'm chubby (but not "fat") and I... play WoW! Shocking! I know! I've never lacked for dates or boyfriends... so for all of you who say she doesn't exist or is fat. Is it possible? yeah... but there are a lot of girl WoWers. Guys far out number us. Even before I was a geek I didn't care if my guy played video games (actually that's probably why I enjoy games now!)
My call? The girl probably does exist... cute or not will depend on your own personal opinion. The last three guys I've dated have been anything BUT gamers. I actually wish I did have a gamer boyfriend. Then we could do something "together" that was fun for us instead of the typical dinner/movies/bowling/whatever.
I love geeks :) - Samsong, on 10/12/2007, -8/+72I wonder what their poop looked like after all that food dye...
- graemedeacon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+61My gf actually plays more WoW than I do. She has never made me a cake but she did buy me a WoW hoodie for Christmas and she makes me tacos sometimes.
I'm satisfied. - phoggey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+59I'll tell you in a couple of hours.
- sladek, on 10/12/2007, -2/+59you're not the only one
- Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+54xobe - Does she also fetch the portable toilet for you and tell you you are a "big boy"? :p
- violentvinyl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+48Icing slinging is a man's job.
- Harrison88, on 10/12/2007, -6/+46Me thinks he's fallen for the old Female Elf trick.
Still, amazing cake. - p2502, on 10/12/2007, -4/+42fourthed.
and fifthed by my girlfriend.
also @ kristov . learn to bake, it's friggin easy. and it's a useful skill when shopping for your next wife. - Mirag3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+40is there a reason why everyone needs to be a dick to every random person? Jesus Christ, call me old fashioned (im 17) but have you guys ever heard of a little chivalry? Treat girls (and people in general) nicely and maybe one will talk to you one day.
P.S. Stupid people don't count - mostly because I don't want to talk to stupid people and thus am willing to verbally massacre them. - jlebrech, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36"But did he shard it?", lol
- disrupter, on 10/12/2007, -6/+40My gf is mad whenever Im on the computer for too long :(
- luvlyssa, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35No I'm not fat:) I would admit it if I were. I was fat. obese whatever. I'm now chubby. And even then... just by my standards.
- goldfenix, on 10/12/2007, -14/+48@DyDx
You mean to imply that, despite being on the internet for some time, as I assume you have, you've never seen or heard of cosplay?
Allow me to educate you, if you wouldn't mind.
Cosplay is basically like comic book conventions, except that everybody is dressed up as a character. If you can imagine a Klingon-only convention, you are getting close. So you have all these people who are *really* into anime, video games or comic books, and they've all constructed these costumes. So they get to a large convention hall, stocked with thousands of *other* people who have constructed their own elaborate (or sometimes not) costumes and they wear these costume for a few days and do who knows what. Now, if this place is in Japan, then "photographers" (I use the term in the loosest sense) commence to find the girls with the skimpiest costume and take pictures of her panties.
I am not making this up.
Wikipedia article for reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cosplay - mikehill33, on 10/12/2007, -1/+34Very cool. I am not a WoW player but anyone that puts that much effort into a cake gets a digg in my book!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+33***** off, I doubt you could make anything near as good as that, there is much more that goes into this than "tracing".
Retard. - krazytom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+33flickr link to pics: http://www.flickr.com/photos/87916288@N00/
- Desolite, on 10/12/2007, -5/+34who the hell levels cooking?
- Atom, on 10/12/2007, -19/+46FOR THE HORDE!!!!!

Some people, have EXTREMELY slow / boring office jobs, and watching people argue over mostly insignificant issues passes the time.. :) - cracker42, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I'm sure you're just trolling, because anybody with half a brain can tell you that making that cake is significantly harder than tracing a picture.
- xobecide, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24My gf doesn't bake me a cake (queue dream sequence) but she does fetch me Arizona Iced Teas and hot pockets from time to time. That's as close as I'm going to get without seeking a girlfriend in the cake-design business.
- REBELinBLUE, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Am I the only one who finds it funny that time and time again, whenever there is a topic about WoW we get the same replies. Stating that WoW players have no lives; I have to question the people who post this stuff because seriously if your life is so fantastic what the hell are you doing trolling on digg?
- mailman123, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Is she a Level 50 Baker with +11 icing skills modifier and gold plated cake pan from the province of Geldtron?
- counterplex, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21sixth'ed! Pop the question and don't even worry about anything else. The only thing that'll make this situation better is if she's a gamer herself.
And baking really isn't too bad - kinda like coding ... with flour, eggs and flavoring :) - GraceMolloy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+32Seconded, can I hear a third?
- jmreid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Drop out. That school sucks.
- Thuktun, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20My wife and I specifically haven't tried WoW because we know we'll both get hooked and forget to do things, like eat.
- SniperX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Nah.. WoW players don't have free time
- enicholas, on 10/12/2007, -29/+46@bothra: Agreed. I've been happily married for nine years, and my wife and I both play. In fact almost every WoW player I know is married.
- Step1Mark, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18@ krasht
We digg those comments because they are funny. since when are comments taken seriously. - brianbennett, on 10/12/2007, -6/+22She's a keeper.
- Nitelite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16@Saikhan
I hate to break the news, but guys (and girls) can do all of those things away from a computer as well.
/ontopic This cake looks awesome. - LaSepultura, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17And we love you.
- jmeeter, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Yup, I'm in the same boat.
- endgames, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16She's not the only one.
- Xinareiaz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15You're probably butt-ugly.
- alceria, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Clearly you haven't killed enough boars yet.

I'm a girl, too, and it annoys me how some of these guys on digg (presumably younger guys who wouldn't know how to deal with a woman anyway) tend to assume all female geeks must be fat, ugly, actually male, or just nonexistent. These guys are just being jackasses, because in real life they'd likely never say things like that to your face, mostly because those who are immature enough to say such a thing probably have no room to talk about others being fat or ugly. I am not a WoW fan, but when Spore comes out, my fiance and I will probably never leave the house except to go to work. I myself am not fat or even chubby, not that it would necessarily be a bad thing if I were. That doesn't automatically make someone unattractive. I've seen my share of ugly skinny girls as well as cute chubby ones. Some digg boys just need to grow up. Yeah, the overused joke "OMG someone on digg has a girlfriend??!!!1" is still mildly funny, but once it gets down to generalizing all geek girls and saying hot geek chicks can't possibly exist, it's really no more accurate than saying all geek guys are fat and ugly and live with their moms. I'm sure some of them are. But sexy geeks do exist among both sexes.
@ Hoov
Chivalry isn't dead. I've experienced it firsthand. It's just that women who still deserve it these days are fairly uncommon, to tell you the truth. Therefore the men out there who still understand the concept of chivalry are rarely given a chance to use it on someone worthwhile. -
