- Mudcrutch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+42Ever wonder why people click and comment on a story they don't care about?
YES. - LightsOut06, on 11/13/2007, -0/+36i forgot to add that when I say "designer" i mean the guy(s) who redesigned digg 1.0 and currently design the interface of digg. Sorry for any confusion.
- snypa, on 10/12/2007, -9/+43Funny how the site of the desginers of digg can't handle the traffic they've helped generate!
- sgarrity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+28We (silverorange) actually did develop the Mozilla.com site as well. That said, the latest iteration of the Mozilla.com site that went up in November with Firefox 2, was designed by NoBox, and implemented by silverorange (along with the great IT folk at Mozilla).
- madskjaer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Interesting... I didn't know that they did the Mozilla Website (which I love), too!
- Grec, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20I stand 55% corrected.
- inactive, on 11/13/2007, -0/+15 We really need a digg category.
- Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Design-wise I feel digg is definitely their greatest creation.
- jmreid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15Great work from fellow Canadians. Keep it up guys.
- ABadInAlbany, on 10/12/2007, -4/+16what's that smooching sound I hear? lips-on-ass?
- natrium42, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13That's not what irony is: http://sc.tri-bit.com/Irony

- Roger, on 10/12/2007, -10/+19Personally I think digg.com is rather unattractive.
It has gotten better over time, but I still think it lacks polish. - sgarrity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9honging: I think I was pretty clear about that. We did the first design of Mozilla.com, then NoBox did the Firefox 2 version design of Mozilla.com, which we then implemented.
- snypa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Eh, I think it's pretty good compared to a lot of crap, clean, crisp and easy to use.
- tzmguitarist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12There can be only one [CEO].
- ceoblues, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8That's about 45% correct. We (silverorange) have a very flat hierarchy and decisions are made very carefully with everyone's input. There is only one CEO though.... I hope.
- Enchirito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6funny, mozilla.org was the only one i did know. It's great to see more!
- PabloIV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5NoBox is a Puerto Rican company, just wanted to, you know. Get some much needed tech cred for Puerto Rico
- Bdog2g2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Microsoft
/* sarcasm */ - isaac, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Did you deliver that Chinese food during the winter storm that shut down the rest of the city a few years back?
- burke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I don't like that definition of irony. I reject your reality and substitute my own. It's very ironic!
- biggbrother, on 11/13/2007, -4/+8Digg. Articles about Digg. All day, everyday. zzzzzzzzzz
Any front page stories on pictures of Kevin Rose's used toilet paper? - newrecruit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the type of markup is directly related to when they were originally created.
- Frankie4Fingers, on 11/13/2007, -3/+6Don't get me wrong, Digg is a cool site, but the design isn't that special. The coding behind the design is what is neat, but the actual design isn't that unique or special. If Silver Orange didn't do the development work then it isn't really worth saying how good they are.
- matth1jd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Its interesting to look at the coding of silverorange.com and that of Hampshire Pewter and then digg and revision 3. The former are CSS and tables, the latter designs remove the tables and focus on semantic markup and CSS. This is either indicative of target audiences, or more importantly a shift in their development paradigm.
To branch out a bit off topic: I'm attempting to lead such a shift right now at my company. It's a hard road; has anyone else here done a similar thing? Maybe sqarrity can provide some insight? - unloud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3But the problem with that is there is still issues with function. Form is an end to a means. You use form to get superior function.
- EN7r0py, on 10/12/2007, -2/+51) Think of something somehow related to digg
2) Post a link to the webpage
3) ???
4) Profit! - Mapeki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I actually live near these guys in Prince Edward Island, Canada. They are like the only remotely successful IT business on the island. I'm very proud of them for working on some great stuff. There is not much emphasis on IT education here and they are setting a good example that there can be success in such a small community.
- KyleMistry, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Damn, these guys have done work for everyone. Canadian bands, tech news sites, internet browsers...
If ever there was a diverse portfolio for web design, this is it. - iashraf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Don't be silly, function > form always - and Digg is the most functional site for its purpose that it can be.
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2And here I was thinking it was all created with professionally trained mice on unicycles.
- joaob, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7Another victim of the digg effect.
Oh the irony... - NanoStuff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I always thought the guys behind digg created it, I assumed this was the least you should expect from any genuine web geek. I am disappointed :(
- ABadInAlbany, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2close -- tricycles and tandems actually.
- stevensj2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Am I the only one rather unimpressed by some of them??
- m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Groupies rejoice!
- maiku00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I adore the new digg design. It is cool to see the other sites that they have worked on too.
- drenader, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I thought http://www.veseys.com looked a little out of place in the list. Then I saw all the indoor "gardening" supplies the site sells. Lights, irrigation, self watering propagators. It all makes sense now.
- worthawholebean, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@DJSDotCom:
No one knows the names of the people; they do know what digg is and that someone designed it. - themaestro8, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Dugg just for the band Sloan.
Awesome band, and an awesome website as well. - Ireland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"what's that smooching sound I hear? lips-on-ass?"
While that may be funny, I actually think the new digg.com is really nice, I wasn't fond of the last few designs on digg. I'm glad everything is back to right to left, and the widesceen is cool too. - sgarrity, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks dude, the chicken balls were great.
- kickarse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have to say I am NOT impressed... But still nice to know their other designs are mediocre too...
- bofhcabbit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Wow, this just kind of blew my mind.
I used to live in Charlottetown a few years back. I've actually been in the silverorange offices. It's such a total shock to me that they're the ones who designed digg. - PDelahanty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There will be tomorrow.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think its pretty cool that a Canadian agency designed Digg, as well as prior iterations of Mozilla sites.
- isaac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sadly we no longer offer behind the scenes tours.
- igutekunst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Old. Been on digg before.
- reichg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they need to redesign digg completely it does not look good at all! People who dont agree are idiots and have no taste

What is Digg?
