- roastedbagel, on 10/12/2007, -3/+123Nice, really helps the acid kick in.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+77It's one of the only ones I've ever seen. Strike that, it's the only one I've ever seen.
- DiggsOnlyNeoCon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27Man, I love my the mouse.
- eetraveller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23Wow that interface is delicious. I'd like to see that as a photo search rather than a search for crappy products I don't want.
- fasdfa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16You can also zoom in/out with mouse wheel......
- julienbh, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19I can really see just moving my mouse on this site for hours instead of playing WoW and it'd be as much gratifying, without the monthly fee associated. Come to think about it, I might forget to cancel recurring billing.
- Phearce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15Flickr, are you reading this?
- Just1nD, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13i love lamp
- CaptShmo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13great physics on the pictures you can throw around
- UGM2099, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12It's not ONE of the coolest, it IS the coolest, hands down. Etsy rocks.
- underthelinux, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Where are they going? Why do they keep leaving me?
- vileS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Leave it to me, but I found some NSFW pictures in all of that nifty thing...
- Lemon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Picasa currenly has an experimental colour search - an interface like that would be FUN.
Ditto - Flickr. - jinglee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10now is there a way to see the HTML code for the color that comes in...i click, and some crappy photo comes up!
- dude187, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"It's only cool if it works. It returned one photo that had absolutely no relation to the color I picked... unless it's picking complementary colors as well?"
Seriously. While it looks cool as hell, its horribly implemented. I couldn't even find the color i picked ANYWHERE in half the photos it returned... - Jaymoon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Yet totally useless...
How would this even be remotely practical for anything? - BlogCruiser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Real cool and fun too but I don't know how useful or practical this is for a sales gimmick.
- 7amWDG, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7***** Yeah!! I finally get to throw around a Fuschia hand bag! Man I hate Fuchia Hand bags. Anyones search turn up a poodle or an old person?.. I've always wanted to throw one of those too!
- GrantTheGr8, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7@TheTap: Don't you mean my the Vicoden?
- jchrome, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7This is a really innovative/next-gen type of site. i am really impressed. I like how they are completely busting out of the old paradigms how information "should" be conveyed/displayed. The time machine feature was pretty freaking cool too.
- DrNoDoze, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This site is useless. Of course i am colorblind so that may have something to do with my opinion.
- scbysnx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I wish they had one that concentrated in certain areas.. I'm looking for stuff for my house
- TheTap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Man I love my Vicoden
- kdragoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Cool UI fer sure. But not practical as a search tool. It takes too long once you select a color, and the stuff I got maybe had that shade somewhere in the thumbnail, but not on the product.
- fishbert, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9useless, but fun and clever
- tripm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can do this all second.
- Mike89, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Pink, I'm guessing
- dimplemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Cool concept and definitely nothing that I know that's close to this.
- unitethenations, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Do any of you remember the Digg 3D post? If the designer could somehow incorporate organization like this site...it probably could be digg v4.
- seatowngrrl, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This site kicks ass.
- superkendall, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It's only cool if it works. It returned one photo that had absolutely no relation to the color I picked... unless it's picking complementary colors as well?
- jialuolu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't see it being very practical. If I want to search for teal items, I'd have to click all the similar shades of teal in order to view all the products. Don't see why it has to be that specific
- kbarrett, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I love etsy.
- willi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Too slow to be useful right now. But cool gimmick.
- pbs1914, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Absolutely love the design. Don't quite like how the products seem to be pretty much useless junk and not that closely related to the color.
Anyone have a guess at the type of technology behind the interface? - dct124, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is another similar website that's awesome--I could waste a lot of time on this one
http://www.wefeelfine.org/wefeelfine_pc.html
See what people around the world are feeling! - sutabi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3As much as I hate flash I love this example :)
- spy1325, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i would love this to return RGB values instead of givng some picture... then it would be useful to me...
- spd998, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Inside the Net http://www.twit.tv/ had the founders of etsy.com on one of their podcasts. Just thought someone might want to listen to it if you didn't know about it.
- fredrated, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If they gave you the color code it would be cool to create your own color set, but they are selling nic-nacks not developer aids.
- Tordenflesk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Use your the mouse"
You've been drinking l33t-juice again haven't you? - jwjedi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Duuuude. I cranked up some Sabbath and just started scrolling my cursor over all the colors. Magical.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Nice interface, too bad the search results aren't that accurate. It's picking images that lack the color I've selected.
- scojerroc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"The colors, Duke, the colors!!"
- norcim, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2That site is overthunk
- koick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what the heck color did you pick?
- beerunifies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I beg to differ - it sure ***** is.
- renison, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ya, I just did that with some dj shadow, jwjedi.
But if there's anyone reading this who always wanted to paint or was curious to what a painter "feels" and how he/she becomes so enthralled by their subject can look no further then this great achievement.
I got the exact same sensations I'll get while spending hours staring at my palette and canvas while striving for the perfect tint, shade or hue while mixing, dripping and swirling the liquid-y paste around -
I almost guarantee if there was a PET scan of my brain the same portion of my brain would be initialized while staring at this website and/or staring at my palette. - vuthy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I knew from the title even before I clicked that it was the etsy thing. Saw it a while ago and yes, I did think it was cool. But maybe it's my attention span, but it got old quick.
Also, it seems the comments have turned into people plugging their etsy stores. Wish I had one to plug, but guess I'm not cool enough. - koick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I clicked on black (very bottom, right) and got an image which was completely pink. Hm.
