- spect3r, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Everytime a page gets dugg, always remeber that there is ALWAYS a mirror at duggmirror.com
All you have to do is replace digg.com to duggmirror.com
So for this page, it would be:
http://duggmirror.com/design/New_website_design_showcase
Lesson for the day is complete. Yaar. - mockstar, on 10/12/2007, -8/+19...but your hosting sucks!
- grrreat, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Maybe digg staff should consider adding in the duggmirror links automatically
- paroxsitic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9http://duggmirror.com/design/New_website_design_showcase/
- xxdesmus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12Dear god, this is only the 500th "CSS Gallery" ...no digg, not even all that interesting anyways.
- keesj, on 11/07/2007, -5/+11Just what we needed, another CSS Showcase website. Showcase websites are so 2005.
- yongfookathome, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7because we always need yet another CSS showcase site.
with exactly the same functionality as all the others, no less.
Why not try to be more creative (nice domain - do something with it). Commenting systems we have on other CSS showcase sites. Why not make something more applicable to web design? Like what flickr has done with notes - let people highlight certain parts of the screenshot and comment on them. Otherwise you just get a bunch of arbitrary text comments on a separate page that are difficult to relate to the design. - torion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5my favorite is http://www.csselite.com
- theotherlight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Good mention, I was just about to post the same thing. Whenever I have designers block, I always go have a gander at webcreme... the stuff there is a little redundant sometimes, but there's bound to be something there that can spring an idea.
- scorpy01, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I picked 4 of the websites at random and ran them through the markup and css validators at the W3C. None validated. The markup had between 12 and 460 errors. The CSS had from one to a dozen errors and all had several warnings.
A gallery that shows how to use CSS should at least validate. Unless you're really pushing the envelope (as in http://www.cssplay.co.uk/index.html) valid markup and css should be a given. - RonnieSan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3My favorite gallery is http://www.webcreme.com. It's updated everyday.
- atlantisceo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Firefox has a nifty little extension that puts it in for you every time. It requires Greasemonkey, but it is very helpful to me.
- admartinator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wonderfull showcase with nice sites! That rocks!
- jasonmcintyre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Great look ...
- david76, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6The fact that these sites use CSS has nothing to do with the quality of their designs. That said, it's nice to show people what can be done with CSS.
- multimago, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Many designers like to put very nice sites, this is the good start!
- gerkin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Validity should be the _first_ thing tested when showcasing a CSS type site. They don't validate should == they don't get showcased.
And is it just me, or do all those sites look pretty cookie cutter? I selected 4 random ones and they all looked like the same layout with slightly (and I mean slightly) different graphics. - JesseDidThis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3ya know, there are a lot of these showcase sites, but a lot of them show the same sites. I'm always looking for some wit fresh content.
- multimago, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This showcase is the best one! simple but very cool!
Great job Adam - paularms, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3wow... looks surprisingly like http://www.cssremix.com
- phill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2My thoughts exactly. Even the rating stars are similar.
- joaob, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3found 3 sites with absolutely no CSS on it. So no Digg.
- smhill, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Ok, additional lameness. Most of the "Great site!" comments here are from people who are "showcased" on that site. Digg spam as well.
Way lame. - gerkin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3The "featured site" is a joke (or at least I'm hoping it is). It's called jam factory and it's a fixed height of around 500 px, sheesh. I didn't realize that to get your work showcased you had to make such crap. Sure it looks pretty (if you consider neon green pretty). Take a look at their CSS. It doesn't validate and is pretty fugly.
Why oh why is this a "featured site"? hah. credibility-- - RidinDirty, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3How is this CSS when most of the sites are flash heavy?
- webzyne, on 11/22/2008, -0/+1The site STILL has "half evil tables". And the CSS that is actually there is DIV-crazy. Takes you over a year to get rid of tables?
- kriegs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1exactly what I was goin to say.
- JamFactory, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"Don't hate the player, hate the game."
I didnt ask to be featured, it was nice that I was chosen. Im re-building the site in CSS and im halfway at the moment so there's no way in hell it'll validate. It's half nice CSS, half evil Tables.
Oh and what the ***** is wrong with a fixed height!? If you dont like it, don't visit it! I'm sure i'll live another day knowing you don't like my stuff. - dinkumator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2i love how its yet another CSS design gallery... but on top of that, it lists quite a few sites with flash navigation?? flash is not the same as CSS
- arkmtech, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Very nice! Another fantastic resource for budding web designers & freelancers to be inspired by.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Everything is so glossy...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2exactly the sentiment i got dugg down for.. well said.
- website1, on 02/26/2009, -0/+0Adam, websites showcase is really beautiful. we do web development.. http://web.bizbangladesh.com/website_design_develo ...
and i love your work. - TruSighT, on 04/26/2009, -0/+0My fav is http://CSSGallery.com with over 500 CSS galleries listed. I do frequent http://csstux.com a lot on my standard inspiration runs.
- inactive, on 10/22/2007, -0/+0started to browse this site, i really like it, you did a good job on it!
Keep up the good work! - ThirdPrize, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1You know the CSS heavy sites. They flash up the text first and a couple of seconds later the pretty colours arrive.
- jimyboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.miniajax.com
- xxdesmus, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2lol... that's not a half bad idea.
Ok, really though ...it's just ridiculous at this point. Either do something hugely unique or don't even bother because this is waste of everyone's time at this point. - sniping4dummies, on 05/01/2009, -0/+0We just launched our website...we're a custom web development company http://www.creativelogicmedia.com/ and looking for good gallery sites to post to. This thread has been uber helpful.
- smhill, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2It has been done.
It has been done much better.
Missing the basic features that every other lame-ass clone.
CSS != Design in general.
Smells fishy/spammy... some of the sites listed are all related to one on another in some way.
Can mark something as spam and lame? It's too hard to choose. - roguepixel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Sweet yet another CSS gallery, shame the sacrificed thumbnails that can show the actual layout to something that just looks shiny, I'll stick with CSSmania.
- yourhead, on 10/12/2007, -13/+12The site is looking really great Adam. You've really set the bar high for the other showcase sites. This is really 'best in class.'
- selen, on 07/12/2008, -1/+0Everytime a page gets dugg, simple and very cool!
You just get a bunch of arbitrary text comments on a separate page that are difficult to relate to the design.

http://www.bid-directory.net - oceandragon, on 09/19/2008, -1/+0Design to xHTML slicing service http://www.9xhtml.com
- heckmeck, on 10/12/2007, -7/+6Beautiful showcase for beautiful web pages!
Great work Adam. - blueangel5383, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1it's not so cool when you name your site css___ and the featured site on there is all table layout........
- Cl1mh4224rd, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Damnit... I'm seriosuly tempted to create a "CSS Showcase Showcase": a website that showcases all the websites that showcase other websites.
This really is getting kind of ridiculous. -
