- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I am grateful for Netvibes. No ads, no branding, just my page.
I would still like a little more control over fonts and colors, but that is such a picky issue, with everything they do that's free for users. - alienjournalism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18Netvibes, digg, LastFM and Firefox= best things that ever happened to my interwebs.
- Presentlight, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19best 2.0 homepage. Period.

- andrewober, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11This is the first time I've ever heard of Netvibes... but it definitely won't be the last. I've spent the past two hours screwing around with it and I LOVE it! Very nicely organized site...
I'd like for it to show information about my Hotmail and Paypal accounts... If you can do it, I haven't figured out how to yet. - TangentThought, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I've been using it since last year, and I have to say that it practically cut my daily internet routine time in half. It's very efficient, and very clean. For those who don't have an account, I advise getting one.
- Derter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'm using netvibes since a while and it's really a good way to improve the time i pass on Internet.
- moogleman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm really not a big fan of the new search, though. I wish there was an option to use the old one.
- tariqkrim, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6hi, just got thought the post and the comments !
Thanks to our users. When we read this at netvibes, we just understand why we spend our day coding !
I just wanted to add
cinnamon is a complete rewrite of the back end. some bugs are here, don't hesitate to submit them via our feedback form. We have corrected most of the one submitted already
within the next months,
We are going to release a bunch of new modules, we will open skins to designers, will are upgrading our api soon, and we are working on a full collaborative version of netvibes. As you see we have plenty of work for the next month !
thanks again - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6God, I hope Google never purchases Netvibes. I like it like it is.
The last thing I want is some garish Google logo and a bunch of AdWords cluttering up my NetVibes page. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Sounds like a good way for new people to discover Netvibes.
- jus1haz2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Ya it looks pretty badass im going to register.
- TangentThought, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Wait for a couple of days. They've just "upgraded" it so don't expect everything to work smoothly from the transition. To answer your question, all 5 of my Gmail modules aren't working at this point.
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thank you so much for making Netvibes!
I started using it a few months back when Leo Laporte mentioned that it was his homepage. The notes feature became invaluable to me right away - now I never start using a new computer or browser without making Netvibes my home page.
The first thing I always show people is how Netvibes doesn't put a logo or name anywhere on the page, in fact, it lets me have my own headline!
Please don't ever lose the simplicity of your approach. I'm impressed at how many new features have been added without ever losing the basic DNA of the site. I can't say enough good things about you guys! - JJP0223, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4You could use Stylish for Firefox - https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2108/
- macewan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4silly question - have you compared the two yet? Google should just purchase Netvibes and be done with it already.
- spartanking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would be lost without my Netvibes page. I love that it brings all of my favorite sites (including this one) to me all on one page. Netvibes is the most useful site on the internet.
If you haven't tried it out I highly recommend it, especially for bloggers who want to moniter news on certain topics. - locojones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I really love the flexibility of sites like Netvibes.
I'd love to extend the functionality of the page with the Ebay module, or the Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail modules. But does anyone have any information on the safety aspects involved in essentially providing all your login info to a third party aggregator like this?
I like the convenience, but am concerned at what cost. - felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Try using the Google toolbar + Netvibes. The official toolbar works in Firefox, and will save you a lot of space on whatever home page you use.
- nanometer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Classical search is back again.
- arnigunnar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I sooooooo agree :)
- felchdonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Here's the Hotmail module: http://eco.netvibes.com/modules/8723/windows-live-hotmail
I couldn't find anything for PayPal yet, but keep watching the Ecosystem: http://eco.netvibes.com/
There is an open API, so maybe someone can get one written soon - spr33, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"We will activate our "super boost" feature in the coming days to make loading of your start page even faster."
Super boost eh? I don't find the page to load slow as it is now so lets see just how fast it can load. - ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Actually there is the Netvibes Customize module, you don't even need Stylish or Firefox, use that and you can control many aspects of your Netvibes look, you can even remove the header panel, remove the header bar entirely, add background images, remove the title title, etc etc. The community has made many programs and mods to do almost anything you can image with NetVibes. Oh, also Check out the "ajaxy" Daily Comics module, its absolutely awesome, I can read dozens of comics with a swipe (no click) of my mouse, yet it takes so little space.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah I have to agree about the sites you listed, I use them daily too, I can hardly fathom going back to the way life was just 2 years ago. These sites are incredible.
And lets not forget the Digg module for Netvibes is fantastic. - ireadnews, on 03/25/2008, -0/+1some days ago i found http://vidslib.com Vidslib indexing millions of videos from youtube, metacafe, gofish, google video etc
- dogstylee, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3I love Netvibes, but I never understand why people Digg an article basically saying "something has been updated slightly", when the only people who will care are the ones who use Netvibes and will already be aware of the updates...
- jilm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Silly? Why? Which ability do you have in netvibes which you miss in Google? I don´t know about anything useful. In fact all these startpages are pretty much same - everybody could write modules for all of them, so you can use them in same way. In netvibes I miss good Google Reader module. BTW I think that Google´s "gadgets" database is bigger than the netvibes one, but that doesn´t matter.
- ChanKaiShi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Netvibes lacking one of the most important features for me is ability to hide read messages and ability to load ALL unread messages since last visit (not only 40 what Netvibes offering now). Since release of new Google Reader I can safely say that I found something which I was looking for a long time and Netvibes even with a new version still did not accomplish that.
- jilm, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Why do you think that netvibes is better than iGoogle?
- NinJA999, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2is it just me, or did anyone else's gmail thing stop working?? (i used netvibes before cinnamon)
- ekosystem, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1the reason why i still don't use netvibes, is that Google search is too basic. No access to image search + as i am french sometimes i want to search only french pages.
- pile0nades, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5W00t, my first digg to make the front page!
- monser, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0http://blog.netvibes.com/?2006/10/01/78-we-are-currently-upgrading
- zoom1928, on 10/12/2007, -9/+1Horrible page! Why in the world would they hard-code the line heights? That means if your text is larger than their hard-coded line height then you'll see the lines on top of each other. Way too many web masters intentionally screw-over their users with that "special effect."

What is Digg?
