- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -10/+58Irrelevant...I thought it was interesting, I enjoyed it, and I`m digging it. Burying it just because of who submitted it is just as hypocritical as digging it just because of who submitted it. Be aware of faulty logic at all times, as it can undermine even the most noble efforts.
- Pother, on 01/02/2009, -9/+26Well I dugg it because this is actually a decent collection of interesting bookshelves, better than some others I've read here.
And I obviously don't understand Digg... who the hell cares who submitted it, except for the Digg staff and the submitter?
Why don't they just take the submitter off the public listing, and on the various profile views (of submitted and dugg) remove the yellow square showing number of diggs.
Basically, REMOVE THE ABILITY to use DIGG for one's own SELF-GLORIFICATION! - JellyFish62, on 01/02/2009, -12/+27Who cares for who submitted this? It's creative and pretty, I'd love to have that in my house!
Now, unless it's a duplicate, I digg this article. - p4r4d0x, on 01/02/2009, -8/+22He may be a loathed "power user", but he brings a lot of good content to this site. Just throwing it out there.

- gratulor, on 01/02/2009, -3/+12I would have loved one of those cave bookcases when I was a kid. It just looks like such a cozy place to settle down and read a good book.
- MeghnaK, on 01/02/2009, -7/+16Very interesting and creative.
- simplyintricate, on 01/02/2009, -8/+16Interesting, but nothing beats a book bookshelf:
http://www.instructables.com/id/Invisible-Book-She ... - aNte, on 01/02/2009, -14/+21Awesome! We should all send our best links to MrBabyMan so they will make the front page because if I post it it will definitely not reach the front page.
- RandomEyes, on 01/02/2009, -1/+8AMEN. stop burying for submitter and start burying for bad content
- inactive, on 01/02/2009, -11/+18Seconded
- Destinatus, on 01/02/2009, -2/+9Form over function?
- drewbeta, on 01/02/2009, -5/+11My favorite part:
"The Polar Bear Shelf is a bookshelf that is shaped like a polar bear."
I'm glad they cleared that up for me. - PrairieDoggin, on 01/02/2009, -25/+30Still boycotting power users... buried.
- kramsac, on 01/02/2009, -21/+26Buried power user crap
- hfactor, on 01/02/2009, -4/+8Still boycotting everyone who cares about submitters... buried.
- SoftlyCaress, on 01/02/2009, -3/+6None of them was practical .lot of space took up and no real space for books Lame even... Buried
- Spoomeister, on 01/02/2009, -0/+3Bless you, sir.
- solid12345, on 01/02/2009, -0/+3Get off my flat and rectangular lawn!
- DemDude, on 01/02/2009, -5/+7Those bookshelves all look awesome, but most of them share one tiny problem: YOU CAN'T STORE ANY ***** BOOKS IN EM!
If designers would simply go back to the very basic, Function over Form, and not the other way around, they'd be able to find designs that will look stylish and cool in a hundred years. Look at Bauhaus, that stuff is a hundred years old and hasn't gone out of style once in that last century. And it's all usable. - inactive, on 01/02/2009, -6/+8Let this digg die
- OneEyedParrot, on 01/02/2009, -5/+7Rule for modernism: orthogonal angles and continuity suck!
(At least my bookshelf holds my books :P) - marioara, on 01/02/2009, -3/+5the cave bookcase is awesome!
- buckrogers1965, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1Really? I thought the stair bookcase is an amazing way to gain a lot of space in a small house.
- katzeyes, on 01/02/2009, -1/+2LOL! I like that!
- solid12345, on 01/02/2009, -2/+3These are alot like Mrbabyman, pretentious and utterly unsusable
- kschoy, on 01/05/2009, -0/+1i'll take 4
- Gl4di4tor, on 01/03/2009, -0/+1Meh, who needs a bookshelf when you've got ebooks.
- LeadStripes, on 01/02/2009, -4/+5I want that Amazing Staircase. It looks wonderful!
- marx2k, on 01/02/2009, -1/+2Polar Bear Shaped Bookshelf Is Sad
- twigboy, on 01/03/2009, -0/+1spam if its submitted in bulk and a large portion of it is NOT interesting
i find most of mybabyman's links to be something worth looking through, so build a bridge and get over it! - marx2k, on 01/02/2009, -1/+2So... how do you get at the books in the inner loop of the infinity bookcase?
- scratend0788, on 01/02/2009, -0/+1how about digging the original article and adding sumbmitter as a friend instead?
easyer just to bury this one?
i guess principle only goes so far. - HonoredMule, on 01/02/2009, -1/+2That's so going on my todo list.
- themeatt, on 01/02/2009, -1/+1dugg for C. S. Lewis
- haveaniceday91, on 01/02/2009, -1/+1The Polar Bear Shelf is a bookshelf that is shaped like a polar bear.
orly? - solid12345, on 01/02/2009, -1/+1Ugh I accidentally buried you when I meant to digg you up for mentioning the Bauhaus.
- tandy400, on 01/02/2009, -1/+1And where's the how-to part of it?
- casuallyevil, on 01/02/2009, -2/+2I don't know why "modern" has come to mean "grotesque and impractical" when applied to design, but most of these are definitely "modern."
- mstachiw, on 01/02/2009, -1/+1pff... half of these so-called book shelves don't have books
- BaliWebNews, on 01/04/2009, -0/+0When I was living in Paris my bookshelf grew from stacks upon stacks of books from floor to ceiling, creating natural shelves & cubbies -- au naturelle
- domtrapp, on 04/06/2009, -0/+0with the Quad - you can build tetris - pentomino and much more !
the only limitation is your imagination :)
www.quad35.com - udh4, on 01/04/2009, -0/+0Normally we create and develop a file is not always the same computer. Because some reason you decide to outmanouver the file into another computer. So that eventually you will be copying the file in to the removable drive. The problem is that often appear MISSING FONT. Wich is the model letter on your first computer is not exist in your second computer
- sugablonde, on 01/02/2009, -2/+2maybe a couple of them
- HonoredMule, on 01/02/2009, -2/+2Is it really appropriate to call something a bookshelf if
a) it is not, nor is it comprised of, shelves
b) it doesn't have anywhere appropriate to hold books.
/Most/ of them could have gotten away with a 'bookcase' label, but there were precious few shelves to be seen, and half of those (or for matter the 'bookcases' with enclosed spaces) didn't even have level surfaces or openings large enough to even hold a book.
What can I say, I have a greater appreciation for art I don't have to live /around/ or /in spite of which/. - vokl, on 01/03/2009, -0/+0
