- p9s50W5k4GUD2c6, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5OMG - aren't the modern day cubicles BAD enough?
Mr. Supervisor, sir, can you wheel my office away from "da bafroom" entrance? - kevinarth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Aside from trade shows, as mentioned, I don't see much practical use for this.
- unidentified, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was thinking it looks more like a glorified limousine. I can already see a Jay-Z video with him riding around town in one with some *crazy* rims yo!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Too many windows on too high a pedestal... Now all the world will see *exactly* just how little work you do. Did anybody catch the scissor lift on the inside?
- starmanjones, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lucky.
:D
been doing it for years. - joel2127, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is gotten totally crazy. It is on the same line as living in a mobile home. What nick names can we come up for mobile office workers?
- timsco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm just getting one of those 70's style shagging wagons with the little round windows at the back and putting a boardroom table in the back. We can meet in the parking lot at Wendy's. This is lame.
- inotocracy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I get the "white trash exec" feeling just looking at that.
- aliengoods, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I remember seeing the same thing on Beyond 2000 in the late 80s or early 90s. Funny, I didn't see myself spending long nights in front of a computer with no women in sight. I guess it was more of a it-will-probably-never-happen show.
- sourwood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I saw something similar to this at the 84 worlds fair in New Orleans. Although it was more like a Chrysler mini van with an Apple IIe, a phone and a clipboard. I'm not kidding.
- sailor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"his futuristic mobile office will allow consultants to agree GPS co-ordinates with clients, so that they can meet at the new office"
uhhh...don't you think just calling them and telling them where to meet you would be a better idea...??? - aliengoods, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I dugg it because I find it mildly interesting, but how does GPS come into play (other than buzzword factor). Who would give GPS coordinates instead of 'the top of the parking ramp for building XYZ'. And as for practicality, it would be much simpler to convert a Winnebago or a bus into an office, and much more practical on most streets.
- SlowOnTheUptake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looking at the diagram, this appears to be a Port-O-San with an upstairs. Just the place to meet with your clients.
- livestradamus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This has it's benefits but more so for some industries. For example construction projects would an advantage of managers using these.
- PezFr33k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yah, they've had these for years. THEY'RE CALLED TRAILERS. And they suck.
- Jetfire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Well you can tell this guy is a designer and not an Engineer. From my understanding of the concept this is to be a stand alone unit. So where is the Generator for Power, Fuel tank for generator and water tanks for the bathroom? This stuff takes up lots of room (give the small size of the trailer with people as scale). These items will also had weight meaning is little car would have trouble pulling it. So he would have to use a truck.
“James is proposing that by using the built-in GPS system, his futuristic mobile office will allow consultants to agree GPS co-ordinates with clients, so that they can meet at the new office.” Just rent a hotel or better yet meet the customer at their office.
Sorry, now Digg just because it’s not a practical design that would be useful in real life.
btw I built highly custom trailers for a living. - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I wouldn't want to work in there because I get car sick if I try to read and watch/look at something like TV.
- RomeyRome, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Just a damn pop-up camper...
- csmillie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think this is a copy of Trailer Park Boys, http://www.trailerparkboys.com
Ricky and Julian have always had mobile offices, maybe not as fancy as this one... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1but if you add all of it up, wouldn't owning one of these for every one of your employees cost more than just giving them cubicles?

Come on digger's help me out and click this link: http://gh.ffshrine.org?r=3654 (604/1000) thanks to all those who have helped me out so far! - joel2127, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can just imagine now - you have a big customer that is going to come to your office. This would *really* impress them! - NOT
- rolypolyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg the source, please!
http://www.caniuseit.co.uk/articles/2006/04/22/the-mobile-office-of-the-future
There's more pictures there, and they're bigger than 260 pixels. - derekbez, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't think the designer has never actually worked in an office himself. Perhaps he got the idea from his 6 year old step-daughter.
But is it art? - joel2127, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I can see it now. Friday is mullet, and handle-bar mustache day. The rest of the week is for watching Jerry Springer.
- CiXeL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Just give me a PT Cruiser with a swivel driver's chair that i can turn around and face a fold-out desk i can work on for a portable office. Something like that would be invaluable to me. Stylish _AND_ Business
