- nourayehia, on 02/03/2009, -1/+6This would save us lot of work specially when you just use your theme’s function.php over and over again in any project after that.
- TheWebMix, on 02/07/2009, -0/+2Wow. really good article. Just when I thought I was getting pretty proficient with WordPress I learn something new that is awesome. I'll have to implement that in some of my blogs.
- mikedeezy33, on 02/04/2009, -1/+3I am growing more and more fond of Smashing Magazine everyday.
- cloudberries, on 02/05/2009, -0/+1you;re try-ing to....o hard

- jukilimbur, on 02/04/2009, -0/+1My bad. I thought shortcode was something else. But Fluency Admin plugin theme is still a high recommendation :)
- cloudberries, on 02/05/2009, -0/+1Shortcodes are one of the reasons I now choose Wordpress as client-admin of choice (that, and the fact that it's lovely and shiny and makes them go "Ooh, this is nice")
- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -2/+2Only in an article about WordPress could I get an ad that reads "Will your site survive a traffic surge?"
- Jules999, on 02/10/2009, -0/+0Amazing how well these are written for the non-techy. I can even use them! Thanks for the great tools to add to my WordPress toolkit!
Thanks again, Julie - jukilimbur, on 02/04/2009, -1/+1All blogging platforms have to answer this question. MT and some others may generate static HTML files, but it's a godforsaken "build" thing for large websites. If you build a dynamic site (e.g., PHP) then it's all level playing field anyway.
For Wordpress use 1BlogCacher. Superb plugin. Does its job without any fuss (unlike WP-SuperCache et al) and converts your WP site into a static html one. - jukilimbur, on 02/04/2009, -1/+1Get Fluency Admin plugin to make your admin theme much more intelligent. it also shows the short codes more clearly. Problem solved.

- inactive, on 02/04/2009, -2/+1Well said.
- Lynxist, on 02/03/2009, -2/+1Ever since using shortcodes in Joomla I have been a huge fan. It helps prevent those late night errors creeping in when my coding tends to get a little sloppy.
- n4ls, on 02/04/2009, -3/+0I remember having to disable shortcodes for Wordpress from the core file by commenting it out because it was screwing up the displaying of huge posts...what a useful feature, I'd suppose :\
- Sheepsterbaby, on 02/04/2009, -7/+3What is wordpress :?
- moothemagiccow, on 02/04/2009, -6/+2I don't see how this is all that useful but whatever
- IcedOut3, on 02/03/2009, -6/+1Short-Codes for the win!
- syntaxgs, on 02/04/2009, -7/+1UH,,,,, How does this even help me Write Documents in Word anyway? =P Sorry but I don,t see the point of ,,Word,Press,, If It doesn,t even help with word documents,,,,,,, -,-;;
- Foxinni, on 02/03/2009, -7/+1I'm a big fan of Shortcodes. Planning on launching something big using them as the main feature. :) Shortcodes for the win!
