- Four20, on 10/12/2007, -16/+157it's transparent, not clear
- comedianX, on 10/12/2007, -15/+110It's translucent, not transparent
- ch1ckster, on 03/04/2009, -1/+86That would be a bitch to keep clean, lol
- doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -1/+74I think the transparent washing machine is cooler (no pun intended) - at least you can see someything going on inside. "Woo-hoo! Look at those undies fly!"
- stephenwq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+68Invisible Refrigerator requires Invisible Sandwiches.

It's a refrigerator, not a monster who feasts on dreams! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+44dictionary.com
transparent -—Synonyms 1. clear, pellucid, limpid, crystalline. Transparent, translucent agree in describing material that light rays can pass through. That which is transparent allows objects to be seen clearly through it: Clear water is transparent. That which is translucent allows light to pass through, diffusing it, however, so that objects beyond are not distinctly seen - spudnic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30Not to mention being able to see all the dust and crap gathering behind it
- flameboy, on 10/12/2007, -15/+41That thing is UGLY
- shadus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I'd so buy a transparent washer and dryer... fridge... no... i dont want people to see my 3 month old mold growing on an orange that rolled to the back and I forgot / am to lazy to fish out.
The washer/dryer thing though could amuse me for days at a time. - patrickloggins, on 10/12/2007, -10/+35It's un-American, not transluscent.
- bossywalker, on 10/12/2007, -6/+29Hell yeah!! The washing machine would be more interesting. It would be cool to watch all the parts moving around. Transparent washing machine FTW
@DIGGADEEP - transparent != invisible - twinklyJesus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+24If I can see it, it's not really invisible, is it? Transparent |= invisible
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17Also, Milk spoils quicker when in light. Milk in cartons last longer than in clear plastic jugs.
- doctechnical, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15I always wanted a screensaver that simulated a dryer full of clothes.
Yes, I am easily amused. - denhamcoote, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15No, it's not the same. Would you call a clear drinking glass invisible? If so, how would you ever find and use it? Come now kiddies, it's not difficult to use the dictionary. (Although it's nowhere NEAR as cool as flaming people without knowing what you're talking about!)
*sigh* When did the Internet turn into a cool hangout for illiterate, snot-nosed 13 year olds?
(No offence to the literate, snot-nosed 13 year olds) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@Mugsleymug: It is transparent on a base level, it's the refraction of light within the corners that reveals the shape of the fridge.
But it's definitely not invisible. - OpCzar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14Way to depict all of the conventions of a bad article submission:
Innacurate title, leet speak, all caps and "title says it all" type of summary. - gameguy43, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14everything is more fun when its clear and modded with bright blue LEDs and UV lights!
- ij00mini, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13"Need I say more?"
Yes, you need say more. You were wrong with the title, and gave no supporting information. Better luck next time. - zomgflamer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12So where are the transparent bikinis?
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11at least it saves time & power
because then you don't need to open the refrigerator to see whats inside
and yeah watching that washer would be amusing - richpav, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10It's not functional. It's a showroom model to show how much food can be stored in it. Same goes for the washing machine below. It's only to show what the drum looks like.
Come on, do you really thing it's possible to invent household appliances that don't use any wires? - asskey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7false
- jaydj, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Finally, an invention that will answer one of the questions of the modern era.
So does the light go out when you shut the door or not? - MrPerfect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Wonder if that has insulating problems...
- Jeffrey903, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7This would probably only contribute to the obesity problems in the US. If people could see the food more often, they would probably eat more of it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7You can't really see anything in the washing machine as the cylinder that spins the clothes is still opaque. As for the window in front, regular washing machines have that too.
- UrbenLegend, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Watch, the transparent washing machine will save millions of babies per year.
- Jelfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is a bad idea. The last thing you want is unneeded light entering your refrigerator and spoiling your food faster.
- Gronkk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5"Need I say more..."
Yeah. You're an idiot. Invisible != Transparent - raabco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The point of having a transparent refrigerator is that you can see what and where the things you want to eat are before even opening the door, thus cutting down on wasted energy from leaving the door open while looking around inside for inspiration. Other companies have tried doing something similar by developing a doorless fridge that uses a curtain of moving air to keep the cold in and the warm out. I doubt this refrigerator has a very good insulation rating, thus wasting far more energy than it would save. Looks kinda cool, but as others have mentioned, people would rather buy refrigerators with TVs in the door in hopes that it would distract people from noticing the mess inside.
- Agret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4"Need I say more..."
Yeah, you somehow forgot to mention that it was transparent and not invisible. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5um, why?
- RoflcopterFUEL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Don't know about you, but I'd prefer knowing what's in the fridge before openingit. Some times i open the fridge and stare at it for 15 min to figure out what I want. So I'd love to know what i have without keeping it open and wasting electricity...
- joseph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The way my fridge looks like inside and most peoples I see, I don't think you want people seeing in from the outside.
- daedalus1982, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4props to you for having the balls to say what was on your mind. BTW those guys have already commented and came back for your soul/diggs
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Now all we need is a chrome fridge, and maybe one that can shrink everything so we have more room :3
- SirBriggs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Why? What is the point? So you can check what food you have without opening the door? Crazy Japanese.
- sremick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This would be a good time to refer the poster to my guide:
http://vtbsd.net.nyud.net:8090/digg_guide.html - MrPerfect, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Wheres Jeff Dahmer gonna hide his bodies now?
- antonio97b, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Awesome. Now I can watch the mold grow and ferment without having to open the fridge door. No more suprises.
- crashflow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I wonder if the UV lights help disinfect the clothes?
- Ademan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@twinklyjesus
|= is a bitwise "or equals" the correct "not equals" is !=
(at least for C like languages, and considering its kinda hard to do a math "not equals" with the keyboard and =/= looks like crap, thats kinda the accepted way) - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5It doesn't matter, not translucent.
- Suplyndmnd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Invisible = Transparent but Transparent != Invisible
But on the other hand, pretty cool (though mislabeled) but like Gary Coleman says "Lets not get bogged down in semantics" - n0fairzer0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I believe ≠is the character you want.
- lowerlogic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was expecting a fridge with a cloaking device on par with those used by the alien space ships you'd see in star trek :(.
- onikage, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Any kind of light + delicious perishable food = bad news.
