2. Web applications running out of the browser
3. New controllers for increased usability (ex. gyroscopic mice)
4. buttons go away for minimalist designs
5. The mobile web gets bigger, interfaces get smaller.
Probably could have just named this article "What Apple Does"
Personally, I'm not into interfaces that require me to actually burn calories to operate. Jack me in through my brain stem and let me go comatose pls. - TheSkinsFactory, on 04/04/2009, -0/+7I'm in user interface design and minimalism is a blessing.
- alaa1999, on 04/03/2009, -1/+6I think the multi touch technology will become the new standard later on, as Windows 7 and hopefully Mac Os 11 will support these technologies and ofcourse the Linux/Unix dudes won't stand there watching.
I'm already loving HPs touch mate, and it isnt that expensive.. - MusicMagi, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4fail
- ZoomBoy, on 04/04/2009, -2/+4I'm a minimalist design, and industrialism is a curse.

- TheZorch, on 04/03/2009, -1/+21. Multitouch combined with better voice recognition.
2. Web applications that run out of the browser in such a way they look like native apps rather than apps running in a browser.
3. Controllers that respond to thought input replacing the keyboard, mouse, and game controllers.
Wake me up when they can do this. - HarleyQuinn, on 04/06/2009, -0/+1Lets hope a design trend is doing away with "Glossy" tech. Seriously. I don't need glossy cases that show finger prints, and the Glossy display revolution that Apple started has to go.
- ajft, on 04/04/2009, -0/+0Given the options
a) multi-touch and greasy finger-prints all over your screen
b) keyboard and mouse or touchpad and a clean, readable screen
I know which I prefer - indigolife06, on 04/09/2009, -0/+0Glossy screens are no treat. iPhones get filthy looking fast and glossy touch screen monitors perform poorly or not all if user's fingers are cold (like in many chilly super A/C'd offices) or screen gets real oily, dirty.
- indigolife06, on 04/09/2009, -0/+0iPod Shuffle design flaw?
Control switch is on earbud cord, however, iPod's basic earbuds are uncomfortable and generally replaced (per consumer retail clerk anecdotes to me, when I complained about mine). Any other earbuds are superior in comfort, and usually sound quality, whether $10 or $200. Does new Shuffle require use of crummy iPod earbuds because of control switch? - ShloppyJoe, on 04/03/2009, -7/+3I'm in industrial design, and minimalism is a curse.
