tutztutz.com — A bizarre wonder of German engineering, this incredible industrial robot has been trained to dance, paint portraits and (yes) write the complete Martin Luther bible in beautiful calligraphy.

- OBKenobi, on 02/15/2008, -37/+24A robot that writes fairy tales for weak-minded fools. Impressive, but can it molest altar boys?
- Phocion55, on 02/15/2008, -6/+25There's a huge difference between people who act like morons about the bible by reading into it too literally, and those who simply appreciate the messages and lessons behind them. Don't get caught up in that generalization.
- Sneakernets, on 02/15/2008, -5/+3Yes, but then it's no longer fun to troll!
- Gathalimay, on 02/15/2008, -11/+2By too literally, you mean not closing their eyes to everything bad about the bible right? 'cause I mean, everyone should continue believing in something even though it is clearly and heavily flawed, but ignore every single flaw by calling it "metaphorical"
- n1f7y, on 02/15/2008, -2/+3Are these the same generalizations that put every Muslim into the category of a terrorist?
This guy bashes the bible and gets dug down, someone else bashes Islam and they get dug up.
Don't Generalize.
- WestonP, on 02/15/2008, -6/+32Statements like this just go to show that the loud-mouthed atheists are no better than the religious extremists. Anyone preaching hate is full of crap, no matter what side of the fence they are on.
- DveMac, on 02/15/2008, -8/+2It was just an off hand comment! Im not sure it counts as 'preaching hate', lighten up.
I laughed.- timjim31, on 02/15/2008, -2/+5you have a horrible sense of humor.
- DveMac, on 02/15/2008, -8/+2It was just an off hand comment! Im not sure it counts as 'preaching hate', lighten up.
- Sneakernets, on 02/15/2008, -8/+14I'm tired of ***** comments like OBKenobi's. Please sir Keep your mouth shut if you can't comment on the robot, but instead must comment on the "fairy tale", which makes you twice as annoying as the Religion you so despise!
- thefobbysystm, on 02/15/2008, -0/+10[insert juvenile religious bashing here, just because “Bible” is mentioned somewhere in the description in anything but a negative light]
- Phocion55, on 02/15/2008, -6/+25There's a huge difference between people who act like morons about the bible by reading into it too literally, and those who simply appreciate the messages and lessons behind them. Don't get caught up in that generalization.
- Falldog, on 02/15/2008, -11/+34They couldn't program it do so something useful?
- wontstoptalking, on 02/15/2008, -9/+7Can you read? It says it can complete the Martin Luther bible in beautiful calligraphy!
- refreshers, on 02/15/2008, -5/+12He said useful
- Sneakernets, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Uh, it's just a industrial robot with different programming, maybe it was for fun?
- refreshers, on 02/15/2008, -5/+12He said useful
- saleem, on 02/15/2008, -2/+3Looks like it took the 70,000! employee GM buyout..
- Revolution101, on 02/15/2008, -0/+7They can't even spell.
"Believe it or not, a robotic calligrapher is actually nothing knew." - consoneo, on 02/15/2008, -2/+1It was designed to do something useful. That's why this is unique :) It makes it do something it wasn't designed to do.
- charlietuna, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Like what? Sexbot?
- moletimer, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1'Train', not 'program', according to the article.
- wontstoptalking, on 02/15/2008, -9/+7Can you read? It says it can complete the Martin Luther bible in beautiful calligraphy!
- wontstoptalking, on 02/15/2008, -2/+29But does it know how to play Crysis?
- ictharus, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2does anyone?
- volacide, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Yeah it's easy, just enable keyboard shortcuts in the options menu and stop using the freaking middle mouse button. ;)
- vibrokatana, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3Well, first you need something that can run crysis.
- ictharus, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2does anyone?
- theNazz, on 02/15/2008, -3/+14Oh boy, an advanced plotter printer that can also move with sound! WOW!
- coheedcollapse, on 02/15/2008, -10/+9Little known fact, a future version of this robot learns to transcend time and actually WRITES the original bible!
- cinder, on 02/15/2008, -0/+5Predestination paradox, then?
- bosssmiley, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Oh the COLOSSAL historical irony of it; a time-traveling German robot writes the original Hebrew Bible.
Dugg. Would Digg twice if I could...
- Herostratus, on 02/15/2008, -2/+8I'll bet I could beat the crap out of that robot...
- chardos, on 02/15/2008, -2/+14So it's a cross between a printer and one of those singing and dancing fish that go your wall?
Why didn't anyone come up with this sooner?! - Callsorputs, on 02/15/2008, -2/+1How in the world does a scraper site make it onto digg? Check that site out it steal the top articles of the day. You should be ashamed
- Jakerzon, on 02/15/2008, -5/+7I for one welcome our new Singing, Dancing, Bible writing robot overlords.
- windowi, on 02/15/2008, -2/+1this is when the robots will rise up and kill us all...
- aliengoods, on 02/15/2008, -11/+3It wrote the bible? So science has created the hand of God!
- Swarms, on 02/15/2008, -2/+6God wrote the bible?
- natey90210, on 02/15/2008, -7/+3Yes, through man, God willed the bible to be written. Everything we do is because of Him!
- arcooke, on 02/15/2008, -5/+3Blah, blah, blah.
- natey90210, on 02/15/2008, -7/+3Yes, through man, God willed the bible to be written. Everything we do is because of Him!
- Swarms, on 02/15/2008, -2/+6God wrote the bible?
- rmwhite, on 02/15/2008, -4/+0This was a triumph!
- Shaman760, on 02/15/2008, -5/+20Great...the world needs more robotic religious fanatics.
/sarcasm- Sneakernets, on 02/15/2008, -2/+7I don't think any digger can go one day without putting down his fellow man
- Shaman760, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1It's a spillover effect from Craigslist.
- Herostratus, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2I have to assume that it is a bad idea teaching robots about Christianity seeing what it has done to humanity already...
- ConceptJunkie, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2Only the source of all Western civilization, science, education, medicine... you name it!
- bosssmiley, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Can you say "Greco-Roman and North European pagan cultural heritage"?
Jedeo-Christianity is only one of the 3 or 4 major cultural infuences that created modern western culture.
- bosssmiley, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Can you say "Greco-Roman and North European pagan cultural heritage"?
- ConceptJunkie, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2Only the source of all Western civilization, science, education, medicine... you name it!
- iucraigmc, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Dugg for /sarcasm
- 9jellybeans, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Dugg for battlestar reference!
- Sneakernets, on 02/15/2008, -2/+7I don't think any digger can go one day without putting down his fellow man
- nubnub, on 02/15/2008, -1/+3The bible thing is probably because of the Gutenberg bible. It being German and all.
- lemur, on 02/15/2008, -11/+4They should make it write the Qur'an. That is more useful.
- Gathalimay, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2You mean that book from the so-called "religion of peace" that inspires so much hate and violence right?
- Chromium24, on 02/15/2008, -7/+3Thank God. Now the machines will never get smart enough to rise up.
- miko555, on 02/15/2008, -0/+8Who cares about the writing... I wanted to see it dance and was completely disappointed.
- MaTT2011, on 02/15/2008, -4/+1I accept and welcome our new robot overlord, let its reign be long and with as minimal human killing as possible...
- Garlik, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1Too many spelling mistakes for my taste
/perfectionism - ligyron, on 02/15/2008, -2/+2I call mine the HP printer. It can paint very complex photographs in a matter of minutes
- 1807, on 02/15/2008, -1/+8I can't believe no one has said it yet.....Will it blend?
- moletimer, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Only if it can sing the cheesy music to go with it.
- everybodyruns, on 02/15/2008, -1/+4"...trained to dance, paint portraits and (yes) write the complete Martin Luther bible..."
Um, (no) the word yes doesn't actually add anything to that sentence. - DjViral, on 02/15/2008, -10/+5hahahahahahahaha now machines have a religion pressed upon them, how sad , ***** the bible
- rswelling, on 02/15/2008, -7/+5...evolves, realizes the Bible has been grossly misused by organized religion, pledges new allegiance to the Noodle.
- timjim31, on 02/15/2008, -0/+13Man, these comments are just awful.
- silentcollision, on 02/15/2008, -0/+7Welcome to digg.
- uncouthyouth, on 02/15/2008, -2/+9"An article that says 'bible'?! Time to copy and paste some hate!"
- ConceptJunkie, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Yes, plenty of hate to go around. Sometimes this place like being in a group of 12-year-old Klansmen.
- scotticus, on 02/15/2008, -1/+4Bad Robot.
- kinship, on 02/15/2008, -0/+4Anyone else more impressed by the 19th Century japanese robot?
- BrandonB1218, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1"Believe it or not, a robotic calligrapher is actually nothing knew"
*new - sonicularulus, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2Quick! Somebody call Sarah Connor before we build Skynet!
- jordanau, on 02/15/2008, -1/+7Whether or not you are a Christian, you have to acknowledge that Martin Luther was a total badass. He stuck it to Catholic Church (which at that time meant death). Translated the Bible, and wrote unbelievably deep commentaries. The man was brilliant and not afraid to hang his balls out there.
- innocentsinner, on 02/15/2008, -0/+6Lutherans are probably my favorite 'brand' of Christians
- stalefries, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2The word you're looking for is denomination.
- goldmineguttd, on 02/15/2008, -2/+1I heard he was a serious anti-semite.
- ConceptJunkie, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1Yes, he was a real badass all right. Inspired the German peasants to revolt and then told the princes not to take of any that crap and retaliate with extreme prejudice. Over 100,000 people were killed thanks to this "badass". All the guy really needed was a hug and a good laxative.
- jordanau, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1I think you need to do a little bit better research.
- innocentsinner, on 02/15/2008, -0/+6Lutherans are probably my favorite 'brand' of Christians
- Mikhail101, on 02/15/2008, -1/+2buried, it cant write the Torah or the Koran.
- d0onut, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1Which would make it equally useless.
- weeeezzll, on 02/15/2008, -5/+4Sing: Useless
Dances: Useless
Writes Bible: Don't even get me ***** started!
Wake me up when this thing can wait on me hand and foot and give me head...- 9jellybeans, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1you want head from a robot? loser.
- Dustin00, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Wow -- that's as useful as my ex wife!
- DeFex, on 02/15/2008, -0/+3a computer guided mechanism which can draw with a pen.
very expensive plotter. - kamk2k8, on 02/15/2008, -3/+0But can it convert hordes of people into believing mindless BS?
- Mcmylo, on 02/15/2008, -1/+1what a waste of a good robot
- weoh, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2Put a dot matrix printer on a wobbly table, it'll be able to do all three of those things.
- Fortuna, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1But does it have a penis?
If not, I am no obsolete model. - vivalagoat, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1martin luther is lame

- iucraigmc, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Dark Helmet: What's the matter with this thing? What's all this churning and bubbling, you call that a radar screen?
Colonel Sandurz: No sir, we call it 'Mr. Coffee'. Care for some?
Dark Helmet: [pause] YES! I always have coffee when I watch radar. You know that!
Colonel Sandurz: Of course, I do.
Dark Helmet: Everybody knows that!
Crewmen: [covering their crotches] Of course, we do, sir!
We are one step closer! - brenbart, on 02/15/2008, -0/+2And they call this progress?
Now what are the million monkeys on their million typewriters supposed to do? - drgnflyblu5, on 02/15/2008, -0/+0Robots writing the bible for us...one less step towards robotic nation.
- jemminger, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1shoot, if it had boobs i think half the southern U.S. would marry it.
- 9jellybeans, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1It's a cylon!
- Yage2006, on 02/15/2008, -0/+1Too bad they did not have it do something useful or interesting.
/Buried - jonasschneider, on 02/16/2008, -0/+1As you may wanna know, there is 1 robot for each task specified :/
