- tecmec, on 11/13/2007, -3/+49"thank goodness the poster put in "landmarks". I thought I was about to click Paris Hilton pictures *throws up*"
But you were still about to click it....? - yidali, on 11/13/2007, -5/+36thank goodness the poster put in "landmarks". I thought I was about to click Paris Hilton pictures *throws up*
- lsatkins, on 10/12/2007, -18/+44Where's all the burning cars from the protesters?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22"If you ever come to France, don't waste too much time in Paris. Of course you don't want to miss Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Le Louvre. But that'ss all that is a must see in Paris."
I disagree. I'll add the Musee de orsay, Rhodan, Bastille, St. Pauls church, and the gare du norde.
Plus, what about an entire day talking to the vendors on the rive gauche? or the sunday farmers markets... - yjam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21I'm French, and all your comment desserves is a big LOL.
You're ridiculous for believing mass-media blindly. - redrocker93, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20I'm also French and you should really turn off your TV.
- cresswga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18And Notre Dame, Sacre Couer, the Pompidou Centre, Champs Elysees, Place de la Concord, Les Invalides, the Opera House and a nice Seine cruise perhaps.
The new arc in the business district (I dont remember the name) is worth a visit too.
I personally believe that there is plenty to see in Paris. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+20Plan a winter trip instead. As much as Paris shines in the Spring, the tourists suck the life out of it. Of all the times I've been there, early December was by far the best. The holidays in France are incredible. Like the U.S. before commercialism became the new Christ.
- yzerizef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16Let's give credit where it's due. This photo is from this collection. He has a ton of great photos from Paris and other areas of France.

Edit: I'm an idiot. The site is at the bottom of the page. Eh, oh well..doesn't hurt to have it here too. - austindkelly, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17For people intrested in just the image on a MUCH FASTER CONNECTION - http://enzo.zeroground.net/parisbynight.jpg
- pesh2000, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14"We do not see the riots, the violence, or the crime that ravages the streets of Paris, and France as a whole."
Pretty obvious that you have never been to Paris. A little sad that you saw reports about one riot and decided that Paris and France is a daily war zone. That would be like someone from France seeing the riot after a Laker's win and deciding that was a daily occurrence. - Threnody, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12In addition to being a celebrity, Paris is also a city. Perhaps you've heard of it.
- AF-Geek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I didn't get the music. I'm liking the NoScript plugin (Firefox) more all the time. :-)
- mcflynnthm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11I'm so glad my work computer doesn't have speakers.
Well, not really. Q__Q - vudicarus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11awesome indeed. great vantage pt for landmarks!
- setfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Cool picture. I am a US native and just got back last Saturday from my first Europeon vaction. We spent a week in France, two days of which we traveled by train from Connelles in Normandy to Paris.
Leading up to the trip all I was hearing from people was how snotty the French were towards Americans, so that's what I expected.
The oposite was true. Everyone there was nice, police and eager to help us out with directions and other stupid-tourist questions. The country and people are absolutely beautiful. Everything, especially transit systems seem well designed and effecient.
The only time I encountered rude snoobs was when we got back to America. - xunk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Hey !
I live in Paris (so excuse my poor english :P), and this wasn't civil war _at all_.
I've heard from a friend (and many articles about it) that the 2005' events were exaggerated by abroad medias (especially un US).
Sure they was some serious mess in suburbs, but it wasn't war :)
(of course, don't see any "US are ***** lololol" in my comment... I just wanted to clarify the situation.) - sebnukem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10"Where's all the burning cars from the protesters?"
On the american "news". Where else? - mattgs, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10Nice! Time to plan my spring trip to Paris.
- yjam, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15If you ever come to France, don't waste too much time in Paris. Of course you don't want to miss Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and Le Louvre. But that'ss all that is a must see in Paris.
Once you've spent 2 days in this town, take a train or plain to other French towns. They deserve to be visited, and the countryside if often breathtaking. - bickdigg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8@ TechZone:
You're right, we never go shopping without our body armour.
Even though you made me laugh, I bury your comment, because it's too stupid. - PhantomRogue, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Wow, thats one awesome picture.
Though, A ton of Construction goin on, saw at least 5 cranes, and a bunch of scaffolding. - tgmoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Great find. Absolutely beautiful.
- crazynuj, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@ubu
Don't be snob. Sometimes when you are away form home for a while, and all you have been eating is local food you want something familiar, especially when lost late at night. - samuelcotterall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8That is incredible.
It reminds me of a night when my girlfriends and I took a trip down to the left bank, and ended up at the Pizza Express just to the right of Notre Dame, and thousands of roller bladders shot went past, over to the north of the river.
We then realised we had walked two miles from the metro station we had gotten off at, and were lost, and had to find another station in half an hour. As you can see from the picture, Montmatre (with the Sacre Cour, the glowing white building in the distance), is a long walk.
Apologies for the story, it just brought back a really nice memory. - intent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You know that "French fries," or as crazy people know it, "freedom fries" are actually from Belgium, right?
- TrainingName, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Very nice picture.
I wish to travel to Paris some day and to try something like this. - diotro, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Ooo Shiny Eiffel Tower.
- mutatron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5You've never been there, but I have. It's a great city. No bugs, no smell.
- Scrubby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Don't forget St. Chapelle! Much more impressive than Notre Dame in my opinion. http://www.scrubbydeer.com/europe/images/P4272097.jpg
- weaksnyc, on 08/14/2009, -0/+4anyone know of a (windows) screen saver that will scroll this picture?
- sebnukem, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6French here also, with access to american television. The sheer amount of ***** they brainwash americans with keeps amazing me.
- AloofDufus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I have never seen a photo that made me want to visit a city as much as this one.
- kc8emd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4This was my experience as well. Everyone was very friendly. I speak a little french and always attempted even though I suck, except when I was drunk. I think that is why people were so friendly to me. I also observed other American tourists and they, IMHO, seemed to act really obnoxious to the locals. It is unfortunate that they represent us all.
- toran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'd have to agree that a winter trip would probably be better. In the spring and summer there are loads of tourists. If you go in the summer, also, make sure you stay away from the south of France, which will be very crowded, as that's where many french choose to vacation, especially in the summer.
- ubuwalker31, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Dugg down for eating pizza in Paris. Pathetic. If your in Paris, have some French food, for christsake. Go to the market, a restaurant....but not pizza or McDonalds!
- misfit410, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Love photos of Paris, because you can't smell it.
- ramcosca, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Beautiful, isn't it? At night it looks so much more precious than by day!
- soogy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4We've all seen night images of THAT Paris, but not huge panoramic ones. I'm afraid to ask what the details would reveal.
- yjam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@ scooterMX, cresswga
The exact list of what you'd want to visit is personnal and depends on your personnal interrests. I just find that the Gare du Nord is as ugly as L'arche de La Défense..
" or the sunday farmers markets..."
Number of real farmers in Paris on sundays selling stuff: 0
If you get out of Paris, you'll eventualy find some.
I never said there was nothing to see in Paris. Just that it's all the same to say "all that is to be seen in the U.S.A. is in Washington", or "all that is to see in France is in Paris".
There is much more out there that adverts want you to know, see, and visit. - Hardcase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Much the opposite of my trip to Marseilles! Although, for what it's worth, they were snotty to everyone, not just Americans.
- TrainingName, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@Brian0908
Maybe they didn't want to take the picture from the Eiffel Tower as that's been done many times.
This picture gives a good view of the tower in the distance nonetheless. - cyberghost232, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2my dyslexia made it look like on night in paris. Pew.
- kc8emd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Don't forget Versailles. I was there this summer while I was backpacking in Europe. Paris was by far my favorite city. I will be going back, but with with my girlfriend. There is a lot of PDA in Paris.
- Naga10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I thought it was, until I read the description.
It's pretty sad that when we hear Paris, we think of Paris Hilton. - aaronm67, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@ScooterMX
Anyone else think of Calc II when he mentioned L'Hopital? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Images stitched together dude...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2OK sorry I forgot to post the actual link:
