He has instructions on how to make other things too, inlcuding a heart for the poster above me - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26very cool. a most excellent use of legal tender.

Ahhh ... the time when 56k was state-of-the-art ... - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24In Canada, you just stack up five $1 coins, eh?
Then you tell them it's a spider with no legs! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+27lmfao ... I was expecting some gay origami ***** but that thing'd look wicked in some dark and gloomy dive (the ONLY place to drink ;)
- D4V1S, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Do you have any idea how much time i just wasted?! DAMMIT!
- shikaga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Yeah. How have I gone without this for so long? Very nice litle trick there.
- Colbs, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16@ Daychilde
WHAT!?!?! Everything cool, was from the 90's, baggie pants, Bill clinton, 2pac, mc-hammer..... The list goes on - Snyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I think it may have something to do with the "crispness" of the bills. It does say in the directions to use "crisp" bills.
- analdisco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12I always thought tubgirl was the filthiest thing on earth.
Weird. - GleepGlop2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8er, in canada that would have to be a $25 tip minimum...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Roll it up till its nearly all the way rolled up, then roll the little flappy bit that's left back towards the tube (sort of like a little second tube)
Then you gotta 'unroll' the little tube over the big one, it should stay rolled up because the little tube was smaller than the big one, it sort of grips it - tvaughn05, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Interesting: This may get the Digg Effect:
Mirror: http://members.cox.net.nyud.net:8090/crandall11/money/spider/
or http://www.duggmirror.com (when it gets on the front page). - toomuchgreentea, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6C'mon, couldn't you have used a $5 plus the white napkins on the table?
- rasbill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6i wouldnt say everything, ie teenieboppers
- EnjoyTheFact, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Awesome, I was getting sick of making the little shirts. Although, for all you musician diggers, the dollar shirts make excellent pick holders for your wallet.
- deadmoo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8The dollar bill ring (from the above cox link) is classic. I remember making those in grade school.
- EasY_TargeT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@ gleep
include the price of the meal :) - JafafaHots, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5And then the busboy comes along - the nearsighted busboy - and, not recognizing that the spindly legs are made from money as he hurriedly and distractedly clears the table, wipes your tip into the tub of trash along with the used paper napkins.
- Kuipo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6ya... it must be hard taking people's money they are leaving out of their own generosity.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5i do the tshirt.. looks great with 2$ bill. The back design makes it look like a poofy pirate shirt.. bonus make a little hanger from a paper clip.
- samgab, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@waterdragon: Are you kidding me? The forties had some amazing music and clothing styles, IMHO.
- Scape3d, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6So is it supposed to be rolled up tightly?
- shikaga, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4England too, £25 minimum.
- motbob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"i wouldnt say everything, ie teenieboppers"
Or vanilla ice.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vp-is6S_b_g - eurocrisp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4that would piss off strippers cuz it looks too uncomfortable to wear in yr g-string
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Tried it, falied. The first four rolls were a bit too thick, so after wrapping the body 1 1/2 times, there was no flap left. Pprobably won't try again for a long time! ...Gotta go wash my hands, mouse and keyboard now!.
- untoward, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5any idea how to make a dollar out of 5 crisp spiders?
- philomatic, on 02/08/2009, -2/+6I can't get it to stay up too! Anyone wanna give me a hand? >:P
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -0/+3Still ok for Scotland though :) Anyone in the North of England could pop over the wall and get a bundle of £1 notes. Mind you, you'd have to be pretty bored to do that just to fold some money spiders.
- Kupotek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That's awesome. ;) Definitely gotta try a few of those.
I love when people share something so creative, it's cool to see what people come up with. - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"the instructions need alot of improvement (roll it back the other way? WTF?)"
That's just to help shape the remaining corner, so when it is unrolled, it will fit tightly on the bigger, first roll. But it is kinda hard to do that second roll while holding the first one -- unless you are really good at rolling join.. er...I mean...'hand rolled cigarettes.'
Hey, what a concept! Do the whole thing out of 'Big Bambu', and stuff the 'legs' with a bit of herb...makes a nice gift.
Basically, it's four long, thin Js, with a ribbon around them!
(leave the centers empty, to fold them without breaking)
THAT art is called Rasta-gami.
I bet weed all enjoy that one! - KevinJB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Holy crap I did it! Mine doesn't look nearly as good as his does though, I must need practice ;). It also doesn't help that I cheated on the rolls and just twisted the ends until they stayed. =P
- WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I just rolled up my first two bills, and already my hands are itching! ...the public dirt of the masses!
- pyrix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I rolled up a few legs which fell apart. Then I got frustrated and rolled up a fat blunt instead.
- elektricki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Programmers and engineers don't make minimum wage. And they don't sit you down and serve food you *****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+12I'd probably be scared of one of those if I saw it, I'm pretty scared of spiders :(
- iPirate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Well damn, the best I did as a kid was fold the bill to have it display "Tited States of America" and "***** of America."
- THX-7168, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dupe Nazi:

How is it the the originals didn't get more than 300 diggs and this story gets over 2,000? That's how digg works. Only the duplicated stories get dugg the most. - mck9235, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Heh, gotta love 90s design skills.
I'd be pissed if someone did that to me, I guess I'm afraid of spiders too. - WaterDragon, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6OMG When I unrolled my failed 'spider', my four ones and a five-- had changed into....four hundreds and a -- wait, what's this? An unpaid phone bill for $391. Well, at least I broke even.
- elektricki, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4FYI waitresses hate crap like that. Just leave them money they don't need a dollar t-shirt and especially a spider. Chances are they'd rip the money trying to get it apart
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i made the ring whoo
- NikZane, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I can't see this working with the plastic notes that some countries have moved to. You can't even scrunch the plastic notes without them springing back into their original form! ;)
- giveaphuk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1hmm $25 2 impress a waitress.. i think she'd rather it in tips..
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Exactly, some of the dumbest stories get dugg like hell.
- otaking, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1that's what you do when you're at a classy restaurant and the tip is much more than $5 :D
- sinembarg0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hate 90s style humor.
- sourcemonkey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2The fact that the article is entitled "How to Make a Spider from Crisp 5 Dollar Bills..." should, perhaps, have tipped you off to the fact that the article was about how to make a spider from crisp 5 dollar bills. If it doesn't interest you, don't click the link - and why write in verse?
digg despite it being an old article and no-tech. -
