- doomengine, on 10/12/2007, -3/+38I was LED astray by your use of LCD as well
- maxomo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22I know this is probably nitpicky but the title says "lcd" should be "led"
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -9/+16The better question is what article did he think he was commenting on?
- theone3, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Both.
- drderail, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5the inspiration came to me in a dream sometime (I think it was arround 1997)...
Was this before or after you invented the Flux Capacitor? - spiffster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Well, I never really wanted to make this commercial. If some Chinese company decides to make it and sell it, it's fine with me. If you want to make one yourself, go ahead. Anybody who wants to make it is allowed to do whatever they want. Actually, if a company starts producing them, I think I would buy one to hang next to the original.
- YourTechSupport, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's neat. But it needs to be ROUND!!!! give me a shiny black circle with a glow around it on the wall and I'll be happy.
- tj9991, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4I can't load the page...
Digg effected in less than 50 digs? - vtwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2LED's have to work at a specific voltage, to make them dimmer, you have to make them flash very quickly.
- spriggig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Maybe he was on LSD
- spiffster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I am the owner of symlink.dk (and the creator of the bob-clock).
I got a call saying the server response time was very bad, so I investigeted a bit. It came down to a limit in the apache config. Hopefully it works a little better now ;-)
Thanks for pointing out the problem ;-) - Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4er.....
trogdoor
beat me - toyotaboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I got two words for you, patent pending. nowhere on this page does it say this thing is covered by a patent. I give it 2 months before you start seeing a watch version of this on an engadget page, coming from china.

Threw the picture and short desciption up on base - can check it out there while the caches and site are down. - brownspank, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm thinking this clock wouldn't work well in completely dark situations, unless you had a lit center-point as a reference point for the other LEDs' positions, or a circular frame surrounding the LEDs.
- samstr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Very strange but a good read

http://www.wirah.com - MiamiGuy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Wrong topic man.
- TylerDurden0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't like it. You have to tell everyone what color represents which part of the time. Now if the LED could reflect off mirrors to create the length of the hands... now that would be something I may think about "ordering."
- JQP123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0An alternative approach might be to use only a single color but vary the intensity. The brighter element naturally being the larger, more significant part. This would even more obvious if seconds were also indicated. In other words, seconds = low intensity, minutes = medium intensity, hours = high intensity.
- osbjmg, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I only have B&W LCD's :(
- JQP123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That's cool but the ultimate "geek" toy has to be a binary clock . Either buy or build.

Just the text. - spiffster, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1No. Next invention: som way to test your webhost configuretion. Wait... I already have that... That would be this site ;-)
Server used no CPU and MEM, but was limited to 20 simulatneous requests. - twe4ked, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0the site is back up
- Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2http://72.14.203.104/search?q=cache:eMn86tKRvhUJ:symlink.dk/electro/bob-clock/+&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1&client=firefox-a
there i go. - kipin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0Next invention: a better webhost
- Darth_tater, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1dugg to death, anybody got a cashe or mirror?
- NewEvolution, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Ditto. People with crap bandwidth allowances should no longer be allowed to host technologically related content.
- Scik, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Sooooo.... You invented a clock? American Inventor would kick your ass out.
- joshPB, on 10/12/2007, -7/+2Revolution has never been the name.
Thats just the code name. - amoeba54, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Official best comment I have ever seen on Digg.
- macgabriel87, on 10/12/2007, -14/+8wtf does that have anything to do with clocks?
- Splitt3rxx, on 10/12/2007, -13/+5damn, 60 LCDs that must cost a fortune.
- joshrt, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4Haha.
- TopherT, on 10/12/2007, -21/+3Umm.. bury me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure it says LED's...
Opp, revision, iddiot who wrote title says LCDs
Opp, didn't see the first comment, just bury me - rewritable, on 10/12/2007, -42/+4Many people have a well-justified concern for the safety issues involved in pumping. The pumping process can cause blood vessels to burst, and can form blisters. In some cases the testicles can be unexpectedly pulled into the cylinder and cause an extreme amount of pain as well as possible injury.
