- Verdanic, on 10/12/2007, -4/+352I didn't think this would be my reaction, but in quite a few ways I'd really love to live there.
Just hope it has internet, otherwise to hell with it. - thewaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+169in the last 2 pictures the same books on 2 different shelves are in reverse order of eachother.
- hockey, on 10/12/2007, -11/+156Just move to California. That is the average house size there. . . and it'll only cost you 400K.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+146For Sale: cozy 1br cottage in quiet neighborhood. Well lit, hardwood floors throughout. Low utility bills. Farmers porch! Great for first time buyers.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -17/+155No toilet, no shower, no stove, no deal. This "house" is essentially a wooden tent.
Also, does this remind anyone of the Tiny House reality show?

- BruceBogtrotter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+106i guess i could live like this.....since i just sit at my computer all day.
im such a loser :( - Kanundra, on 10/12/2007, -2/+102Did anyone else notice that this is a trailer not a stationary house?

My two theories are:
1) He REALLY likes those particular books.
2) Those ARE the same books, and the house was actually designed by MC Escher - scrimaxinc, on 10/12/2007, -4/+91@thewaz
You must watch Lost. - gharding, on 10/12/2007, -2/+86@jojo77:
Just a guess, but I'm inclined to say "cooking". - glasnostic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+84@omgwtfroflmaox2
take a look at the floor plan http://www.tumbleweedhouses.com/floorplans/epu.htm
Personally, I am thinking about getting some friends to pitch in on a decent sized chuck of land where we could build a neighborhood of houses of similar sizes, with one large shared house for people to stretch out and enjoy the fellowship of man..
Or just watch good movie while getting baked with 15 of your closest friends. - hockey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+79He uses them to raise the house when it rains.

- Sblader5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+62college dorm room......
- geekorati, on 10/12/2007, -17/+72I'm wondering where the bathroom is. Do you just use the fields around the house? Maybe that's why the trees are blooming around the house.

I was so disappointed when I found out that was just a commercial and not a real tv show. - tosusan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+54to weigh it down so the wind won't knock it over
I actually like it a lot.
Gonna build one for the wife.
Menstrual hut. - jadenguy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+46she'd never go back...

He takes forever to send stuff you order through the mail.
I just got my portfolio 2 and a half weeks after I ordered it.
The houses look great though...
I like z-glass house and popomo. - gharding, on 10/12/2007, -0/+36About the same size as my Manhattan apartment!
- diggerhater, on 10/12/2007, -0/+35@ verandic
I agree. Plus it would be really easy to keep clean! All though, if you left 2 articles of clothing lying around, it would look like a tornado came through there. - dynacrylic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36Wow! I'm so jealous, seriously.
Makes me want go buy a piece of property and build a little house like that. - nodong, on 10/12/2007, -1/+32@omgwtfroflmaox2
It has a stove and a toilet. Look at the plans on the website. - Homunculiheaded, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31"I wish I could cut this place is half and pay half the rent"
Move to a place like NY or Boston and you can cut the room in half and pay double the rent! It's awesome!
I've lived in some very tiny apartments, I thought it would be awesome, it's actually not nearly as cool as it sounds. It's fun for a month, and then winter comes and your couped up in a hole for a few months. It gets depressing fast.
I'm certainly not a big fan of having huge rooms and houses, but believe me, ultra small living quarters are not all that fun. - geodescent, on 10/12/2007, -2/+31$189,000. A steal at this price!
- TheThirdWheel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+28BFD, I live in a cubicle.
- cjwl, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28Obviously no plans for marraige.
- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -2/+27Never underestimate the power of a keg and 3 people.
- Winters, on 10/12/2007, -3/+28That was my first question too. You also have to wonder about power. But these are both solveable problems. They make it sound like these places are mobile, so I wonder why not just get a trailer or rv (other than custom aesthetics).
Anyway it's a very cool project. I have found myself looking at very small apartments and thinking they looked alot more comfortable than larger ones. I even catch myself thinking "I wish I could cut this place is half and pay half the rent". The amount of space we need really is very small if we manage it properly. - petersms, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30Yeah, and I'm guessing he washes his clothes and sheets...in the river?
- EtherGnat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25The picture book section is over in the corner. Go away now, the adults are reading.
- gharding, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25He has the same exact books on both shelves in reversed order. Staged for the photo? Conspiracy? Photoshop? The possibilities!
- Phocion55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23I'd love to see how a huge kegger would turn out in there. Probably wake up on your ceiling to your house upside down.
- jiltjouster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+23very Walden-esque
- mgross, on 10/12/2007, -7/+29Did anyone else notice the massive amount of land? Shouldn't he have built it slightly larger?
- antoniojvr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22Damn pictures are almost as small as the house. I want more pics!
Cool concept, tho. - weizilla, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Same size as my college dorm too
- armbar, on 10/12/2007, -13/+33"Where do I put my upright bass?"
In the trash, you douchebag. - Sakamae, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20I wonder if his home owner's insurance covers house theft...
The idea of someone stealing EVERYTHING you own by just driving away with it while you are out at the store or something, seems a bit disconcerting. - redrabbit, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20It's bigger than my dorm, and there's no kitchen in mine.
- ezikiel2517, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21Not true, he had two pillows in his bed.
- thewaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+18you would always have a bed, the grass outside, or the floor (throw a mat down)
- napinsa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17I always thought Bruce Willis' apartment in the 5th element was freaking awesome.
- Intrepion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVTfGJnOpqs
- tosusan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17My ex-girlfriend's family did kind of the same thing. They found a little cul-de-sac in suburban Chicago and bought all 5 houses. All of them work construction so they rotate every weekend at somebody's place doing improvements. The biggest yard was grandpa's so they all chipped in and bought a big swimming pool, fenced all the yards with one big fence. It seemed cult-ish at first but in action is really cool. Mostly because they all get along really well.
Although I was relieved there wasn't a sixth house available. Especially after seeing Big Love. -
