- spaceyraygun, on 11/11/2008, -0/+2i just made my first theme... i found that building up the css from the sandbox theme was a great way to get started. it's really great if you don't want to touch the php. but even if you do, it calls most of the general wp functions you would typically use and dumps your content into an unstyled page. it also comes packaged with a few typical 1-3 column layouts to start with...

- bobjutsu, on 11/17/2008, -0/+0Nice resource, too bad it came a little too late after I figured most of this stuff out the hard way. The only advice I have for anybody wanting to design themes regularly is to spend a few hours building a "skeleton" theme that has all of the features you might normally used, unstyled of course. Then, building the theme is just a matter of styling and moving items.
