- Dested, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12The digg effect is some what controversial in my eyes in how much it actually helps websites. Sure it generates alot of traffic for the website but if they have a business model that is solely ad-based then having your website dugg would not generate any money for you. I mean, how many digg users would click an add even if it was relevant?
- nixdoctor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The Digg effect killed my site in the first six hours... but then, I saw links to my site pop up everywhere on the net, and I now have a stable 200-300 visitors per day. So it was bad to start with, but is proving good ultimately. Just like a bitter medicine.
- juanbobo808, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4You're right, but you're missing the point. How many websites out there don't have interests in generating revenue, and instead focus on improving their userbase? I don't even want to count how many more countless hits a day YouTube gets because of digg. It's a great example of using Digg to not only generate traffic--and in turn loyal users--but also generating some semblance of an income as well.
In my mind, if a website gets "dugg" then not only does it draw its target audience to its site, but also, out of the thousands that visit that site while on the homepage, it maintains some of that fleeting audience that digg brings with it. If some of that audience stays, well there you go, theres more income for the site. - psilanthropist, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2some of the crap that gets promoted to the first pages isnt even worth theadditional pages on the daily tattler newspaper.
- snlildude87, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3cliff's notes: alexa skyrockets and skydives; you get lots of links from del.icio.us and technorati
- nixdoctor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You get digitized only if you can generate "appeal" by content of by fraud.
- sentersoftech, on 03/02/2009, -0/+0been a pleasure to read... I agree with all of the above
- neladua, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Bit depressing that it's so easy for an article with minimal content (the original "Current Trends in Web Design", that is, not this article) to get promoted to the front page and consequently bring a site so much traffic. Well, depressing or inspirational, I guess, depending on what your own aspirations are.

How to Use Articles to Direct traffic to your Website? - bertsisterwanda, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1he says eden-burgh scotland!! what a dumb ass
- NewScientist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0It's interesting to see some figures on this. As we publish a vast amount of articles, it's rare to find a day when we aren't dugg. This helps us to see what traffic Digg drives to us.
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Wow..
To mark your spot on the web, all you need to do is get Diggitized. - dragons5, on 10/12/2007, -5/+0good for you... now I just need a good article to get dugg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1Its easy to get dugg.
