Actually, Halo displays the current number of people playing in each gametype. If you check a couple of the more popular gametypes, you can get a pretty accurate idea of the overall number of people playing at that time. FTA: I did this simply to see if I could. A personal challenge, so to speak. I can't argue that this is a productive or practical desktop solution, like Starlight Desktop. I would call this art, more than anything else, but I'm sure there are some people out there that would use this. This is for me, first and foremost, but also for anyone else who appreciates my work.
Protip: nobody cares about your opinion of Halo. Busy as the Halo one. I don't want to use the word "cluttered", because the Halo one isn't, but I think you know what I mean.

I've been an avid Halo player since the first game. I don't play Halo 3 on Live as much as I used to, but I always check the weekly updates (which are awesome....for some reason Bungie is overlooked as one of those developers that interact amazingly with the fanbase, like Valve).

- alihaq717, on 06/21/2009, -3/+10The Halo series is actually a very well done one... many people believe that Halo 3 was a disappointment, but its hard to top Halo 2 since it added so much more than what Halo CE had (Online multiplayer matchmaking, friends list, more players, ++) and Halo 3 simply added better graphics, some new options (forge/theater) and that's really about it. But when it comes down to it Halo 3 is a really great game: the community is good in general, Bungie keeps on updating the game (new matchmaking changes every week), the features keep getting updated (forge was put to new levels first with foundry then with Sandbox so that you can make your own levels, and also theater is getting a new function where you can download saved films onto your computer). All these things make every Halo game amazing.
