- bluechips23, on 10/11/2007, -2/+53That movie is really funny. I liked the movie especially it has great tips for people who want to be perfect sales reps or lobbyists. I agree that the main character is selling cigarettes and is proud of it, but the technique or the lies he uses to convince people around is just classy. Two simple quotes summarize his passion for his job - a) "You know the guy who can pick up any girl? I'm him. On crack." and b) "If you can sell cigarettes, then you can sell anything!"
There are a lot of great and funny quotes in that movie. Worth watching. - fuzzboxer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+49All designers must watch the credits for Stranger than Fiction.
- internetslacker, on 10/11/2007, -4/+46Land can be formed in other ways, you know. For example, Switzerland is formed out of delicious cheese. True fact.
- tw0bit, on 10/11/2007, -3/+41dugg it for the excellent movie
- SickBoy, on 10/11/2007, -4/+25Very cool imitation of cigarette carton fonts.
- nicku, on 10/11/2007, -3/+22Great movie. Its worth the rent if you haven't seen it. It's a comedy about tobacco lobbying and P.R.
- Yondelldude, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Also, the "Life of a Bullet" title sequence from Lord of War was very cool:

- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+17with all the amazing scenes in that movie, i was not expecting this to be the opening credits. even though they're well done.
- Uncle_Joe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14Its really a good movie makes you understand a lot about what goes on. Even though its fictitious it gets the point across.
- theboredom, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12I watched that movie for the first time last night. I nearly orgasm'd over all the cool little design elements in the film. I was pissed because the DVD packaging was so terrible. They should have asked MK12 to design the DVD sleeve/menus as well.
- Unclickable, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13It's a brilliant piece, there are other great examples of Typography in motion that I would recomend to see if you enjoyed that one.

- markdr123, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Just from seeing that, I REALLY want to see that movie.
- Chazzer3, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10This is one part that I remember most from the film, it really was great. Similar in design to the Casino Royale titles, which I feel were also awesome. Thanks for this!
- stormgren, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6The guy who directed this did a great short film called "In God We Trust".

(Sorry for the low quality. There used to be a nice version on atomfilms but I can't find it.) - nugge7, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Panic Room also had a great opening sequence: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqIclb4qsJI
And how can we forget SE7EN? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SEZK7mJoPLY - mhuggins, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I had to read the title about 5 times before I saw the typo. I think dyslexia is onsetting as I get older. :(
- Izacus, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Hrm... The Lord of War's intro was better in my opinion. Had better point too.
- robmarcer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Loving the 1930s hip-hop track.
- Fraff5, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7No... it's called Thank You for Smoking.
Very funny movie btw. - Stryke, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5I keep repeating the title sequence just to listen to the music.
- JoshuaH, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4English isn't everybody's first language, nor is everyone fluent in English. It isn't like you didn't know what he meant.
- Smoozle, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6A little less jackassy one: http://media2.mk12.com/v5_qt_html/2007/stf_opening_sequence.html
Enjoy. - CurlyHayami, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6I dunno-I've seen more impressive title sequences.
Nicely done though. - Cerebral, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Napoleon Dynamite and Nacho Libre are the two that I would go with. This one was good though.
- hiPpymIck, on 10/11/2007, -9/+12whats the movie like - i havent seen it
- theRIAA, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3wait.. whats the typo?
- Speed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3It's just a comedy. Doesn't really say anything positive or negative about cigarettes other than some of the tricks the lobbyists use.
- lgc90, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5MIRROR: http://www.zshare.net/download/24106281633fc0/
- mhuggins, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Submitter typed "form" instead of "from". Simple mistake. :)
- mobilitatis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I love Panic Room titles but SE7EN opening is very sick!

- Thefatheroftime, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This title sequence site sounds like a great idea! I hope they load it up with a bunch more titles.
- etx313, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Yeah, this one isn't all that great. It's a day with photoshop, and a day in after effects. Now Napoleon Dynamites was very original, but I'm less interested in that cause it's live action not CG. :)
- Smoozle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Or maybe fuzzboxer ment: http://media2.mk12.com/v5_qt_html/2007/stf_titles.html

Smoke! Smoke! Smoke! (That Cigarette) by Tex Williams
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tex_Williams - nicksource, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2What do you call this style of sequence?
Here's a good example of a Pulp Fiction scene done in the same sort of "text/frame sliding" style:

Thanks for not being so lazy like me. :) - hunchback, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Awesome site too, thanks for posting the link!
- astanhope, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3Check out the title sequence from Catch Me if You Can starring Leo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks.

Groovy. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2The title sequence was fine, but I'm sorry... can't even hold a candle (or a cigarette, for that matter) to almost any title work by Saul Bass.
- mobilitatis, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Yep, true!
- aburrido, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Agreed. Thanks for the link.
- ShrimpCrackers, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1Well I actually think Carnivale's opening is one of the best ever made for a movie to TV show. Its far more intricate and smoother, and the themes fit exactly with the story. Every second in the opening is important. See for yourself:

http://www.hbo.com/carnivale/behind/credits/index.html
In the opening, every tarot card has meaning with the characters of Carnivale, and the symbolism is especially expressed in the HBO link. Quite an artful masterpiece. - Unclickable, on 10/11/2007, -1/+2http://yuxt.com/olga/Smoking_Kills
