- andyb747, on 04/08/2009, -0/+12so by living hill they mean a building with grass on it...
- IvanB, on 04/08/2009, -0/+8I love how models are normally all dressed in suits with briefcases in those kind of prototypes. :p
- CedEx, on 04/08/2009, -0/+5What about the obvious hooker in the middle of the 4th picture?!
- ancientshoes, on 04/08/2009, -0/+5if by "skyscraper" you mean "6 story building" then yes, it's a skyscraper with grass on it
- Larssonk22, on 04/08/2009, -1/+4I still find it amazing how these top firms manage to spit out aweful renders! Scheme looks like a 2nd year architecture student's work. They have a super slick website, why not outsource work to a professional!
Back on topic. Nice environmental concept, but its pointless if the client can't actually use the space, and can only look at it via those windows. - kplo, on 04/08/2009, -0/+3They should throw in the occasional circus clown.
- sublimemtb, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2Which is why I wonder why I'm still unemployed...
- Ferretman, on 04/08/2009, -1/+3While I'd love to see this built, the headline implies that it *has* been built. It's just a plan at this point.
Buried for inaccuracy. - alanocu, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2Looks like a chia pet.
- AtomicTheory, on 04/08/2009, -0/+2Skyscraper?
skyscraper: a very tall building with many stories
This looks to be about 6 stories tall. - Identity4, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1Iknorite? I've made nicer looking SketchUp models than that thing. Its hard to tell what's going on with that building, esp. the interior shot.
- inactive, on 04/08/2009, -1/+2We need More of these, way more. Japan has to get on it, then the world will see how awesome these types of buildings can be.
- Larssonk22, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1You and me both! I've gone freelance as a result, still not having much luck =/
- Philbert, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1Wake me when it's a real building.
- displacednomad, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1And by
"Graft Architects has wowed us again with this spectacular living hill high rise complete with a giant green roof that drapes over the top and down the sides."
they mean an image with someone's lawn photoshopped on it. Let me know when it's built so I can be impressed, but not until then. - inactive, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1Set to be completed in 2012 ... yeah right with the global melt down.....
- clharlem149, on 04/08/2009, -0/+1the roof isn't pointless...green roofs do serve a purpose other than aesthetics: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_roof#Benefits
- Lyricas, on 07/14/2009, -0/+0It's sound interesting but it's only lyrica - i hope to see some more fundamental like Users opinion not only links and short comments.
http://digg.com/users/Lyricas - doctechnical, on 04/08/2009, -1/+1Any else first read that as "living hell skyscraper"?
- sanguineentity, on 04/08/2009, -1/+0This is more about the metallic interiors than it is sustainability... the grass roof is a band-aid for a lost limb. Further more, I refuse to be wowed by something that couldn't even be classified as a mid-rise, let alone a skyscraper! what a joke!! We can see that there are less than 6 floors in the whole building... which really doesn't even classify the metaphor as a hill... maybe a mound.
- vat0r, on 04/08/2009, -2/+1So it's a modern cave?
- garlicdeath, on 04/08/2009, -1/+0 I could build bigger
- inferno10, on 04/08/2009, -6/+2YO DAWG I HERD U LIKE TELETUBBIES
- alexmathers, on 04/08/2009, -6/+0I'm looking forward to seeing this get built!
