I wrote a program to crawl the site (which took most of the 4 days) - the google method can only get 1,000 RANDOM images. As stated before - this mosaic has 10,000 top user images.
When I wrote the program, I got it to look at the highest ranked users first - and also looked and the friends & friends of friends of all the digg staff. The google method sees icons at complete random. I wanted to reward the high-end users of Digg, by including them in the mosaic.

Mine is right in the center of where Kevin and Alex's arms overlap.
