huh, spell check doesn't like the word digg... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+36 I will stab the first person to ask if this will blend.
- idonthack, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23HMM. NEEDS MORE FIRE
- Sharkee, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18We need a reporter to knock it over.
- SteelFrog, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18"The height of the structure is 3,3 ft (1 meter) and it consits of 15 000 different details made from 7464 matches."
Now that is dedication. I can't imagine myself gluing almost 8000 matches together, let alone build something this neat of out them. - m3mn0n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Yeah same here, those 1,000 piece puzzles are boring enough....and well beyond what I would call something I'd be willing to do again
this... is simply amazing.. especially the picture of it being lit with LEDs. KICK. ASS. - theRIAA, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14i love his "dremel" knock-off
- shitthisfook, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11I got the reference too, static. But that didn't make his comment funnier.
- Zanick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Damn that's a lot of matches for a model of two guys banging the same chick and high fivin'. Oh......
- SirBryce, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I want to see the video of 7464 match heads being simultaneously lit on fire
- Ludnix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I won't feel closure until the creator lights it on fire and films it.
- rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8"those matches look from the photos like they have never been lit."
I have no jokes for you, I just want to bring attention to the fact that you just said that.
Please don't let it happen again. - mistarojaz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8has anyone seen the dinner game?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Le_D%C3%AEner_de_cons - 5blocksfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Gotta give the guy credit for making the most of the resources he has available.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8@AngryBacon
??? = install adsense - jenx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Someone can't spell.
- saifatlast, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Is it because the answer is obviously yes and you hate obvious questions?
- jcp20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4looks like most of those matches are in the base
nonetheless, amazing work - antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://duggmirror.com/design/Eiffel_Tower_Made_of_7464_Matches_23_photos/
- ntufar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@Lobster
I've been there, seen it. Even climbed to the top. I assure you, it is real - grachi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4wow. that is really cool! The best part is that it lights up too. That last picture is amazing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Je pense que ca prend un minimum d'intelligence pour construire une structure en alumettes... Il sera pas admissible a votre dinner.
- punkrockxtian, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4If you take so much precaution when making a joke you should ask yourself if you should even post it at all.
- Corrosionx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Et c'est fait entièrement d'alumettes? J'aurais un souper auquel j'aimerais vous inviter....
(if you're not french don't bother) - moudig, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3"Le diner de cons."
It's about this guy. Only that he was french. - Azertyqsdf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4La classe mondiale, peut-être même le champion du monde !
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Impressive to say the least.
- ERICwithanH, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3@thumperings
That wood is most likely balsa, and a huge majority of it is constructed with match sticks. You sound as if you're disappointed? It is much more impressive than any of you build with Lincoln Logs.
And, as for you who have said that this guy has far too much time on his hands, maybe if you spent less time staring at television and computer screens, you, too, could accomplish such a feat. I suppose architects have far too much time on their hands, as well? - netferret, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2talk about having too much time on your hands
- Ademan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3LOL STEEL MELTS AT A HIGHER TEMPERATURE THAN JET FUEL BURNS!!!!!!!!!
Dumbass, steel doesn't have to melt to lose most of it's strength. - gatorsrule21, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Why not?
- jsdratm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That is the most ghetto drill I have ever seen. It is clearly a cheap DC motor with a drill bit attached to it.
- whisk3rs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ERICwithanH: I, too, think that's balsa. The structure of the grain + the length of the sticks make me believe that.
- Ladymongoose, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3It's beautiful. I barely have the patience to make microwave popcorn...the amount of work this took makes my head hurt
- JRMillion, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty cool, but I think someone needs a girl :)
- crazyguy821, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1when steel is rated to last at 2300F for 2 hours and jet fuel burns at we will say 1900F with additives, how can said steel fail in less than an hour?
by the way that guy has way too much time on his hands...I admire his work but I couldnt do it, I go crazy trying to put together a plastic model - inblinksDOTcom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Need a light?
- asif5th, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Stephenishere, I'm a rebel
- Gomo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1absolutely amazing
- swazooe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1after all that effort it looks crap
- Khamel83, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i watched something on a flight once about a guy who has made notre dame, the tower of london, a bunch of ships and a ton of other crazy ***** out of matches. he started using regular matches but as he was using tens of thousands, he started buying match sticks (just wood) straight from the manufacturer. he makes sheets out of matchsticks and then cuts the sheets to make the insane structures. i wish i remembered who he was or anything besides what he did.
- knomevol, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4i bet alexandr lives to be a hundred - therapeutic times, therapeutic times....
beautiful work - greensparrow, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2This is actually part of a traditional Russian festival. Over the long, long, dark winters, everyone builds something to take up the time, like our tower here, or, say, an entire suit of clothes made of dripped candle wax, or a bust of Shakespeare made of bottle caps, held together only by gravity. On the fist day of spring, there's a potluck, and everyone floats their craft down the river. It's a charming festival.
- LouCypher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Got a match?
- 1337zork, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Whats the price? Cause i think i want to buy.,.
- marinist, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4He could build a Concorde from match sticks to crash into it.
- zcreem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yea I'd go for a classy plastic cased rewired Chinese Dremel any day, that ugly hefty metal thing looks like it could drill forever.
- tw0bit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1http://www.jigsawjungle.com/code/match/eiffel.htm Match kit LOL I know its not the same, but damnit its the first thing i thought of
- zcreem, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe Tandy hasn't reached his part of the Ukraine yet.
