- samdu, on 10/19/2007, -2/+11Two tips that I can think of from art school at USC. One, if you're drawing from life, draw what you see, not what you expect to see. You'd be amazed at how many people draw what they see in their head rather than what is literally in front of them. Two, erasers are completely acceptable. Don't be afraid to mess up, just cut loose with the lines and clean it up later if need be.
- addiggt, on 07/06/2009, -0/+6Bob Ross: All right, we are going to use a fan brush here and uh why don't you take some hunter green and we are going to put a happy little bush right down over here in the corner there and that'll just be our little secret and if you tell anyone that that bush is there I will come to your house and I will cut you.
- mranime, on 10/18/2007, -2/+7I'd much rather take Captain Picard's Art Class: http://picardartclass.ytmnd.com/
- barryiggins, on 10/18/2007, -2/+7I draw boobies.
- mklopez, on 10/18/2007, -0/+5Just forwarded this link to my nephew, who is growing a healthy interest in drawing comics. Thanks for the find!
- mbthompson, on 10/18/2007, -1/+5Here's a happy little tree, and maybe it has a friend right about there...
- funkytaco, on 10/18/2007, -1/+5Is there any excercises to steady your hand?
- alx1507, on 10/18/2007, -0/+3Poly Karbon has some fantastic figure drawing tutorials.

- coheedcollapse, on 10/17/2007, -0/+3Aw. I thought it was going to be a step-by-step tutorial on drawing Coach from home movies. Still cool though.
- mbthompson, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2'Ello my name is Simon, I like to make drawrwrings!....
- llamagorama, on 10/18/2007, -0/+2Agreed, horrible drawing advice there. If you really want to learn without going to school, look at the sketchbooks and works of many other artists (not Liefeld though) and ask artists you know/meet. Observe life as much as you can and draw from real life over and over and over.
Drawing's just like music or dancing or Guitar Hero. There's no trick, just practice. - Jerky1312, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1He won't cut you, but he'll beat the devil out of you instead and giggle.
- kassem23, on 06/13/2008, -0/+1nice!
- omikun, on 10/17/2007, -0/+1From what I read in "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain" erasers forces you to think with the left side of the brain. When practicing, just draw without erasing. If you mess up, draw it again :) It's a cruel and merciless technique but it pays off fast. Also having a figurine or drawing from life works wonders. Copying from photo only teaches one thing: how to copy. You can't learn the real form, the 3d shape of anatomy if you only copy from images. (note to self: don't draw from porn)
- WillHutch5, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1Athletes have teachers and coaches. Apparently you don't play sports.
- AncientWeird, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1Haven't you ever played Metal Gear Solid? Answer: cigs
- acidandspatter, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1As an A-Level art student I completely agree with this and I admit I fell foul of it to start off with.
If you genuinely want to improve your drawing the best thing you can draw is nude figures. - henhanson, on 10/18/2007, -0/+1Yes, practice make perfect .
Drawing is a great art, you need a peaceful mind and heart. - ericember, on 06/05/2008, -0/+1check this out if you want to learn how to draw, they teach 3,000 students everyweek an their students always clean up at art contests

http://www.thegluckmethod,com - hidetheice, on 10/18/2007, -0/+0Hey! How did you know i have 50 spongebob drawings in my filing cabinet? They are pretty good, too, if you ask me.
- Sheff, on 10/18/2007, -0/+0Dugg for the Liefeld warning.
- NJRFilms, on 10/18/2007, -7/+2Good idea, stupid site. It should have space to draw on the site while viewing the lesson and help you with the strokes and such. Oh well.
- MaTT2011, on 10/18/2007, -6/+1Drawing.....not really something that can be coached.
Its a self discipline and if you don't have the motivation to train yourself like an athlete then don't bother; leave it to those of us who have put the time in and stick to your spongebob square pants / homer simpson doodles.
