Thats a hell of a lot of anime. Comcast would never let you get away with that. - ryodoan, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30The only question that remains is why are you still using IE?
- theshiz892, on 11/10/2007, -2/+27i was too young to notice that it took so many episodes to kill anybody, except freeza... DAMN that took forever! lol, it was still my first anime and one of my favorites still. good ol' toonami, i dont know where i would be with out it

Dude, its "9000", not ten thousand.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBtpyeLxVkI - pmcdaniel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+20I wish the DVDs weren't so expensive so I can see the few I missed.
- TomRemixed, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23because you are a *****
- Ajajadude, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23That was the drawback to DBZ (and a lot of other anime): it took forever to get anywhere in the story.
- ZennZero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Now that you're... 15?
Mom's gonna be mad when she finds out you used potty language! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16Good thing there's always the great equalizer (piracy).
- cragga, on 11/10/2007, -1/+14yes, thats who they are. you worked it out. good going internet detective.
of course, it lists the series they draw next to the artists name, not that you would have read that far, you just came in here to take a stab at anime right? - TomRemixed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Dragon Ball Z and Gundam were the ***** when I was 10-13. Two of the few anime shows I'm not ashamed of watching.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I like this take on anime:

It gets to the heart of a lot of stuff that bugs me about the genre. - binnis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12http://www.daizex.com/multimedia/images/artists/05-murata_yuusuke.jpg
Bulma's a hottie in this one. If I were young Goku, I would bang the mess out of that! - Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11It's not that bad, believe it.
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10To be fair, there is a reason that most of the "comedy" anime sucks on toast when translated into English: most of the humor is based on puns between the Japanese and Chinese languages (i.e. an "innocent" Japanese word means something "dirty" in Chinese). I listened to an interview with a guy who worked on Pokemon and other similar anime, and his job was to make up stuff for the characters to say when the "joke" wouldn't work in English.
I've seen subtitled stuff where the dialog is left intact in its incomprehensible form, and a sub-subtitle says something like "this phrase is humorous when told to someone holding a fish."
That said, the people that think anything anime is like a drop of mana from God himself drive me up a wall. Point out even the most glaring plot holes, lack of narrative, or inexplicable excuses for fights, and they get all incensed. Yes, there are good anime out there, but like just about anything, 90% is crap (like the American movie industry, television, etc.). - cragga, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I don't think they will ever be true to the Japanese original if you're watching the dubs, watching fansubs has made me develop quite the distaste the the awful treatment western companies give these shows. Seriously, have you seen the dubbed One Piece? Its a joke.
- jackal27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Yeah, there is alot of crap anime, which sucks, because it means that alot of GREAT anime doesn't get recognized for just how well written and produced it is. FLCL anyone?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8WHY WON'T YOU DIE!
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Don't point out it's drawn the same! They'll burn you at the stake!

http://blankevolution.com/index.php?showtopic=96 - Renton, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Just read the manga. It takes ALOT less time to get through it all. (but you miss all the cool animated fighting scenes)
- BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -1/+5Budokai Tenkaichi 2 made me want to buy the DVDs. But just looking for them considering the vast number of different sets was too difficult for me to further consider the amount it would cost.
When they've officially released the FULL set, including Dragonall, GT, and the ENTIRE DBZ Funimation dubs, uncut, unedited, completely true to the Japanese originals, then yes I will buy that sucker. As it is I am too afraid I would end up with a bunch of ***** edited BS and I can't even remember if they ever got around to redubbing the first 50 or so episodes that other company did. - franksands, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Actually it's over 8000, as you can see in the japanese version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQEkw0iSLWo
But for the record, the english is fantastic... - johnroth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3That brings back some ***** memories.
- Waltezmo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Did he ever even have a nose?
- daeyeth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Extremely cool. I absolutely love the one by Mr.Bleach, fits absolutely perfect, a great blend of the two styles.
- RoflcopterFUEL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Loved the Bleach one the most, it really does match the style.
- LucasVB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3For *****'s sake, couldn't digg have some sort of auto-ban for comment spam with some blacklisted URLs?
- CrimsonBlur, on 10/12/2007, -4/+740 diggs and 2 comments and the site is dead :(
- darkamster07, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah, crap like inuyasha makes great stuff like GTO, Excel Saga, FLCL, GANTZ, Neon Genesis, the list goes on, look bad. There are a bunch of great anime and manga out there, you just have to look
BTW I loved the Bleach joke, LOL, WTF is up with that title anyway? (though I must admit I like Bleach) - Kookami, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For One Piece's 10th anniversary, Akira Toriyama (DBZ artist) and Eiichiro Oda (One Piece artist) did a short spinoff comic together called 'Cross Epoch', a crossover between both series featuring both sets of characters. The storyline was quirky and mainly just emphasised the similarity between characters from both.
http://rapidshare.com/files/8347421/Cross_Epoch__KEFI__ver1.zip - Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -8/+10i just blocked him
- mrRB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2There was a clip from DBZ that was remixed by a fan and became a meme on the popular imageboard 4chan, which, by extension, meant it became an Internet meme, period.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TBtpyeLxVkI - psbpv3o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i use to draw dragon ball z!!! That show was the *****. I made a website for it to. I was obsessed and can probably recall about every episode (I've seen every single one atleast 3 times). Good times.....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3"Comcast would never let you get away with that."
Umm... I better call Comcast and tell them to come and get me then... - hitori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Sorry, but if all you've seen is the dubbed Dragon Ball, then you haven't watched Dragon Ball.
Cragga is right, Western companies just kill anime when it comes to dubs. Translation issues aside, at least they could get the voices to sound similar! - darkamster07, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3a lot of famous manga artists started off drawing hentai and stuff.
on another note, I never really liked DBZ as a kid, I don't really like the art, and it took forever for something to happen.
BTW sailor moon and DBZ hentai suck - VegettoEX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I may have dabbled a bit back then.... >.>
- spiker611, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Yarr.. to the bottom of the sea you go!
Dragon ball Z was a great show for its time. Yes, its a bit washed up now, but new generations can still enjoy it. - xxNIRVANAxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3because its under design.
- DickMcVengeance, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3There's actually a new box set out that's relatively cheap for the series.
- Allymarie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Awwwww!!! this is great! I loved that show when I was younger. thanks for posting it.
Too bad I'm a girl and none of my friends understand my secret love of DBZ.
Btw I've always wondered about this... The 9000 thing... I dont get it. Someone break it down for me. - zephc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not the same, but similar. There is a lot of homogeneity in anime art styles, luckily the variety of plots more than make up for it.
- Ivers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Boo this man. I love my manga & anime.
