Dragon Ball Z as drawn by other famous anime artists.
japanator.com — Apparently guest artwork was included in a re-release of the manga. Some of it is pretty damn cool, and it's just mind-blowing to see how dragon ball has influenced the entire anime industry. Highlights include art done by one piece's Eiichiro Oda and Kubo Taito of bleach fame.

- RShACkSUX, on 11/10/2007, -21/+3I dont need anyone else to draw them, the originals are great enough as they are. Besides, these guys are probably the ones who make all that DBZ and Sailor moon hentai
- cragga, on 11/10/2007, -1/+14yes, thats who they are. you worked it out. good going internet detective.
of course, it lists the series they draw next to the artists name, not that you would have read that far, you just came in here to take a stab at anime right? - Ivers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Boo this man. I love my manga & anime.
- darkamster07, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3a lot of famous manga artists started off drawing hentai and stuff.
on another note, I never really liked DBZ as a kid, I don't really like the art, and it took forever for something to happen.
BTW sailor moon and DBZ hentai suck - noahhoward, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Doesn't the original Dragon Ball have some hentai-ish scenes? I mean hell, the very existance of Roshi classifies it as perverted.

- TomRemixed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Dragon Ball Z and Gundam were the ***** when I was 10-13. Two of the few anime shows I'm not ashamed of watching.
- OregonTrail, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1sry edit
- NenDaiKi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Budokai Tenkaichi 2 made me want to buy the DVDs. But just looking for them considering the vast number of different sets was too difficult for me to further consider the amount it would cost.
When they've officially released the FULL set, including Dragonall, GT, and the ENTIRE DBZ Funimation dubs, uncut, unedited, completely true to the Japanese originals, then yes I will buy that sucker. As it is I am too afraid I would end up with a bunch of ***** edited BS and I can't even remember if they ever got around to redubbing the first 50 or so episodes that other company did.- cragga, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9I don't think they will ever be true to the Japanese original if you're watching the dubs, watching fansubs has made me develop quite the distaste the the awful treatment western companies give these shows. Seriously, have you seen the dubbed One Piece? Its a joke.
- Gir53457, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10It's not that bad, believe it.
- hitori, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Sorry, but if all you've seen is the dubbed Dragon Ball, then you haven't watched Dragon Ball.
Cragga is right, Western companies just kill anime when it comes to dubs. Translation issues aside, at least they could get the voices to sound similar!

- psbpv3o, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i use to draw dragon ball z!!! That show was the *****. I made a website for it to. I was obsessed and can probably recall about every episode (I've seen every single one atleast 3 times). Good times.....
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I like this take on anime:
http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=148 and http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=191
It gets to the heart of a lot of stuff that bugs me about the genre.- jackal27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Yeah, there is alot of crap anime, which sucks, because it means that alot of GREAT anime doesn't get recognized for just how well written and produced it is. FLCL anyone?
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7To be fair, there is a reason that most of the "comedy" anime sucks on toast when translated into English: most of the humor is based on puns between the Japanese and Chinese languages (i.e. an "innocent" Japanese word means something "dirty" in Chinese). I listened to an interview with a guy who worked on Pokemon and other similar anime, and his job was to make up stuff for the characters to say when the "joke" wouldn't work in English.
I've seen subtitled stuff where the dialog is left intact in its incomprehensible form, and a sub-subtitle says something like "this phrase is humorous when told to someone holding a fish."
That said, the people that think anything anime is like a drop of mana from God himself drive me up a wall. Point out even the most glaring plot holes, lack of narrative, or inexplicable excuses for fights, and they get all incensed. Yes, there are good anime out there, but like just about anything, 90% is crap (like the American movie industry, television, etc.). - 0firefly0, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Chinese? really?
Cmon... you didn't even try. - darkamster07, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yeah, crap like inuyasha makes great stuff like GTO, Excel Saga, FLCL, GANTZ, Neon Genesis, the list goes on, look bad. There are a bunch of great anime and manga out there, you just have to look
BTW I loved the Bleach joke, LOL, WTF is up with that title anyway? (though I must admit I like Bleach)
- SilentKenshin, on 10/12/2007, -7/+4I'm probably gonna get dugg down by the anime fanboys. But honestly, quite a few of them looked like the regular dragonball z artwork.
But DBZ and Gundam Wing on Toonami was the *****.- rocktopotomus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1yeah. i watched them way back when, and i really was expecting these images to look significantly different. as in, with personal style instead of the same old same old.

- feebie, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2All look same.
- zephc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not the same, but similar. There is a lot of homogeneity in anime art styles, luckily the variety of plots more than make up for it.

Dragon ball Z was a great show for its time. Yes, its a bit washed up now, but new generations can still enjoy it.

- daeyeth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Extremely cool. I absolutely love the one by Mr.Bleach, fits absolutely perfect, a great blend of the two styles.
- KyleMistry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Damn, it's all anime. I was hoping for some, you know...awesome re-makes. Things that were done by the artists of the Civil War or Ultimate Spider-Man comics.
:{- Kookami, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For One Piece's 10th anniversary, Akira Toriyama (DBZ artist) and Eiichiro Oda (One Piece artist) did a short spinoff comic together called 'Cross Epoch', a crossover between both series featuring both sets of characters. The storyline was quirky and mainly just emphasised the similarity between characters from both.
http://rapidshare.com/files/8347421/Cross_Epoch__KEFI__ver1.zip - Angmar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Toei also did an anime cross between OP and DB in which Luffy and Son Goku fight Enel.

Hey, there was a link above which I went to which actually has new uncut episodes (the remastered ones). Check out the site below. It will bring back memories for some dbz fans and will also bring something new since the saiyan saga was condensed from 39 to 26 episodes.
http://blankevolution.com/index.php?showtopic=96 - jellygraph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this was awesome and db/dbz was some good ***** to grow up to.... taught me french better than anything else (this was waaaay before it had ever been translated for american audiences)...
Speaking of which, I don't like the way that the American version has been obvious designed for - what - 11 year old boys? The intro is terrible. they should have stuck with the original song. The voices are cheesy and moronic. Even in French, it sounds better. - nublet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1omg that's the coolest ***** evar! *giggles*
and no, i'm NOT being sarcastic. - 3uster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1only digging this cause it mentions Oda, compared to Dragonball, One Piece does actually have a story to it
- browwiw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1and yet they all still look like they were done by a talented but uninspired high school goth kid.
- BlackPawn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Being the friend of talented but uninspired high school goth kids would want to drive me to in some way argue with you, but then I look at those pictures again and I really can't. Their artwork (the portion of them who chose to draw anime) is pretty much the same. However uninspired it may be, it's still damn good. And I also digg this, 'cause this made me a bit nostalgic for my DB and DBZ watching days... and laugh because I'm still a hopeless Naruto addict (the english version on cartoon network is horrible though).
