dafont.com is the only place you need, not this crap. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+57Oh, I thought it meant all at once. That would be bad...

- holein1, on 10/11/2007, -2/+34yeah, my library was up to around 13,000 fonts in extensis suitcase, and I by accident activated them all without realizing it. Two days later I opened up fontbook with all 13000 fonts and an error message popped up saying "hell no," and the computer blew up
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+37I prefer http://www.dafont.com
- iashraf, on 10/11/2007, -3/+24www.dafont.com and www.smashingmagazine.com are all you need.
- specialK16, on 10/11/2007, -2/+2110,000 ways to make Windows boot 3e80 slower!!
- PleaseJustDie, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16Your comment reminded me of something I saw a while ago... http://www.thepcspy.com/articles/other/what_slows_windows_down/1
1000 fonts installed was only beaten by norton in how much it slows the system down. - Matteos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+14Which is a rip off of showfont.net
- OwdenBowden, on 10/11/2007, -4/+16I just uploaded 30,000 viruses as fonts on a torrent so I can screw snot nose ***** that download fonts from torrents.
- lazyrussian, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11which is a rip off of acidfonts.com :p
- dragoneye, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12Dafont is the only decent font site I have found, everything is organized properly. This site doesn't even have a search function, never mind fonts organized by type. When I go looking for fonts I want to be able to actually find the type of font I want, and not have to wade through 10000 fonts.
- terrablebyte, on 11/03/2007, -0/+11This goes quite far. :)
http://digg.com/podcasts/Diggnation/499486 - inactive, on 11/03/2007, -0/+11dafont.com was a rip off of C:/WINDOWS/Fonts
- therealfoz, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Which is a rip off of neatfonts.com
- jdavscru, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10garbage in, garbage out
- toxicityj, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11I tried installing just 1,000 fonts at once. Photoshop took 5 minutes to load all of those fonts.
- staticoranges, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11I just downloaded 3,000,000 intelligent comments from a torrent.
(this isn't one of them) - tehnico, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10Here's a collection of the ***** 10 000 free fonts ever compiled.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Which is a rip off of fontfreak.com
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7just dont use them for a billboard lol
- jiggelo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Fonts drastically increase the time it takes for a PC to start up, so dont download too many.
- KeithBarrett, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6This story has appeared so many times I think I'll wait a few weeks and submit it myself.
- pictureDIGGER, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6You may get dugg down, but that was funny!
- sjuraud, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6It's true that loading to many fonts will bog their machine down, but you should use a font manager to avoid that. Especially if you're into using tons of fonts. I'm a professional graphic designer and I use FontExplorerX by LinoType. It's an excellent font management program. It also free to use. I use this program in a production environment. I have to say I haven't used the PC version as I'm on a Mac. Here is a link for the PC version. http://www.linotype.com/3321/freedownloadpc.html
- Yodacola, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7I prefer OpenType and, at least, PS fonts. Okay for web dev though.
- TheAngryMob, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Agreed. Dafont.com gets two thumbs up for ease-of-use and breadth of selection.
- pictureDIGGER, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5All of which are rip offs of dafont.com
- Qoogirl, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Good question. What exactly does personal use include? I want to use these fonts for my invoices for my freelance business, is that no longer personal use because I've printed them on something business?? I am not a freelance designer using them in designs, so would that use be all right? Anyone know??
- Twenty, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9dafont.com is much better.
- jayssite, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Front page? Is this the work of some crafty advertiser?
- ryanchristopher, on 11/03/2007, -0/+4C:/WINDOWS/Font was a rip off of the system suitcase on the mac
- Pifman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4As a graphic designer I can say I haven't found one usable font on that site yet. Did anybody mention dafont.com yet? I keed I keed.
- modpancake, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Torrent or it didn't happen.
- netkid91, on 11/03/2007, -0/+4But can it go further?
- specialK16, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Perhaps, but after you add lots and lots of fonts, you'll see the difference.
- xParker, on 09/12/2008, -0/+4how the hell does a font site get 1200 diggs?
- ngmcs8203, on 10/11/2007, -0/+41001freefonts and urbanfonts are decent also.
- Chuck1988, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Agreed, Dafont is the only font site I know of that has a large organized database of fonts that has not sold out and asked you to pay.
- bradkovach, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3This site sucks compared to dafont. I'm clicking some ads for dafont... IT'S THAT GOOD!
- trogdoor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I'm sorry but only maddox can use that joke.
- petereality, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3lol
- djcronos, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3dafont.com is much better, but one thing everyone is forgetting is that fonts are crucial for web designers. Having an arsenal of fonts is a good thing.
There are font managers, such as Adobe Type Manager or The Font Thing that will allow you to load and unload fonts as you need, so you dont slow your machine down. - MavRevMatt, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Linux fonts > whatever else.
- somerandomnerd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Really? Care to point me in the direction of some decent Palatino ones then? Or Frutiger?
- devzer0, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3I can has fontzburger?
- meez, on 11/03/2007, -0/+3This far. Muhahah!
- ps3udov3ctor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3why?
- somerandomnerd, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Why don't you begin with something about how Windows loads all your installed fonts when it starts up and take it from there?
I'm intrigued to see where you're going to go with this one... - Poene, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Which is the font that Paul Allen uses?
