tatclass: er.
tatclass: hi.
andycode: A common typo.
tatclass: the keys are like right next to each other. - squison, on 10/12/2007, -1/+881) add funny fake hate message to site
2) post to digg + get so many hits your server can't take it
3) remove stuff from #1 to reveal your sales site
4) Profit!
if only they sold something better than golf carts.. - morrisonm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+91With design skills like that good riddance :)
I chuckled - kbarrett, on 10/12/2007, -1/+80Ahh..but one has to admire the designer's ability to direct the user's eye to the message. What concise use of the color red. Notice also, how he utilizes a large, bold typeface in order to bring visual impact to his title. It really makes the message pop. No muted colors or pixel fonts for this savvy designer.
Kudos, bitter web guy. Kudos. - Yorn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+80Turns out it is an older woman. She also did these sites:
http://www.tarponfishingonly.com/
http://www.colemancharters.com/
http://www.ruthbrownonline.com/
Of course, not all of them appear to be online.
One of her sites, accessible online (unlike the other one which appears to be down):
http://mysite.verizon.net/cocohibb/
Her phone number as listed in a powerpoint presentation she gave here:
http://mysite.verizon.net/cocohibb/VitalDesignsA.ppt#5
You'd think she'd maybe consider how easily she can be identified before she did something like this.
You'd also think I'd maybe have something better to do with my time... Nah. - ScornForSega, on 10/12/2007, -5/+68Dunno... is she hot?
- branchan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+60Looks like the guy's wife had access to the guy's company website....
- northerncomfort, on 10/12/2007, -7/+64I prefer a nice, subtle comment. In header.php, preferably.

**/ - Mugsleymug, on 10/12/2007, -3/+51server side comments don't make it to the client, HTML comments are more fun for that kinda thing.

- LiquidPenguin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+46This reminds me of a baseball card shop that jilted their web designer. This was about... early 2000 I think. The guy got pissed off because the shop owner kept wanting to change the site design over and over, then didn't pay the guy what he was owed and made some wry comments about him in the shop that was overheard by his friends.
At the same time, there was a competing, but less popular, dealer clear across town. Both shop owners just happened to use the same checkout company for purchases. So the web designer redirected people making their purchases to the other dealers checkout page. It was months before either shop owner figured out what was happening, and several months more before it could be fixed, by then the web designer was long gone. - jues, on 10/12/2007, -1/+38Why would that be funny, no-one's gonna see it... HTML comments are too obious. Custom HTTP Request Headers are where the comedy is at.
- itsthemechanic, on 10/12/2007, -3/+37A simple rm -rf /* would have sufficed.
- gfindlay, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31Totally not the comments of a Web Designer, totally the comments of a cheated on spouse. Totally valley girl much?
- jposh, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31the rubber comment was about tires, bonehead
- Yorn, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30This *has* to be an older woman. Only someone like that would type:
"I think we're all seeing your true colors now, aren't we?" without bothering to explain what it was.
Of course, I say this based on 8+ years of dealing with the most fickle of senior chatters on the dating chat rooms I run. Long story... don't ask... You'd be surprised how many women 40+ do web design for random people on the Internet. Especially sites like this. - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32Look out, we've got an internet tough guy in here!
- loof, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28This doesn't seem like a web designer thing more of a pissed off wife/girlfriend thing.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+23This ( http://www.ruthbrownonline.com/ ) site hurts my eyes. :(
- rodball, on 10/12/2007, -3/+25Looks like the actual site got 'back to normal.' Be sure to check out the http://www.duggmirror.com/ version.
- Jugalator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+22Since this was the thread where the inevitable "is she hot" question appeared, here she is: http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/4810/abouttheartistgraphiclp5.gif
- thoughtfulclown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16new story title: don't mess with diggers...
- funk49, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15The site needed some blink tags. NOTHING says revenge like well placed BLINK TAGS.
- bigbird, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16I heard of a church in mississauga where they jibbed a web designer. They were going to pay half up front then half after it was done. The last half never came. So an hour before the priest revealed the parish website to his congregation the web designer set up the server to redirect to a male gay pornographic website. So, if this little ***** you jack didn't say it enough, dont ***** with your web designer!
- SysErr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16A little more digging, found a possible "John"

Tel/Fax: (941) 475-1697 - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Ha. Thats great.
I wonder though, just how often similar things (though perhaps not quite as blatant) are done by pissed off designers. - Cerebral, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I think you mean soon to be ex!
- spin-docta, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15good for her!
she is a bad web designer though... its all images :-( - DigitalPimptres, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13Probably not. Who's gonna put that on their resume/portfolio anyway!?
But it gets a digg for sheer hilarity. - pixelguru, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12As a web designer, there have been several times when I've wished I was unscrupulous enough to pull a stunt like this. The closest I've come is returning a client's site to a previous version when I wasn't paid for my services.
Had this particular example been an angry web designer, and not just a jilted lover, you would have seen something much more elaborate... possibly involving a Flash animation of the owner of the site fornicating with a number of barnyard beasts. - tagawa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Nice bike.
- Heembo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12She was banging the owner, and the owner starting banging some other chick.
- crilen007, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Coco Hobbits?
Hahahaha - wwwtf, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Here's more scoop on Coco

I'd ***** her... maybe

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q=2821+Oyster+Creek+Dr,+Englewood,+FL+34224&ie=UTF8&z=18&ll=26.916306,-82.321318&spn=0.001789,0.005407&t=k&om=1 - XSforMe, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11According to whois, the domain belongs to her. This is the reason you never, ever allow your webdesigner to register your domain. Best of lucks to John getting that domain back from her pissed-off clutches.
- Zorlak, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11AND THEN.... The clever web "hacker" goes a step further by submitting the website to Digg, effectively taking it down due to mass traffic. Mwhahaha. ;-)
- kodek, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11From her PPT:
http://img466.imageshack.us/img466/2039/*****.png - ScornedDesigner, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Alright, guys/gals... It's me. I'm the guilty party here to take responsibility. It was a hard lesson learned. I had the page up for all of about 6 hours before I realized this was relatively stupid on my part. No, REALLY stupid on my part.
So I put my apparently very bad design back up to it's original state. But a bit too late - you guys are on it - and vicious. Hard lesson learned. But I learned. Apologies to all.
Not a publicity stunt, obviously. Just a bad case of the dumba$$. Apologies. - Chicagoland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Hell has no wrath like a woman scorned
- JaronSenna, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9If I were the webdesigner, I would add my own Google Adsense code pronto, because a LOT of people will see this page (once it recovers from the Digg effect) :)
- Heembo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I'd hit that.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10hmm..i'll ride her ( the bike)
- eidurag, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Viewing the source gives us the designer:
Coco Hibbitts – Web Designer – www.cocohibbitts.com
Maybe the host as well, _her_ site seems to be out of order. - oskite, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9@kbarrett
Me thinks it's a gal. - seeyounorth, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11Agreed, that sounds like a woman scorned.
- codefreakxff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Coco is apparently "an avid motorcycle enthusiast and also paints glassware:. Rubber Side Down is a biker term for "be safe". If you wait long enough you can see what she looks like here: http://www.cocohibbitts.com/AboutTheArtistGraphic.gif
- mikev, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Let's watch the hit counter go up and up as this gets dugg more and more. The current duggmirror is at 4,703...
