- Teej, on 10/12/2007, -8/+31Ugh, I just watched someone digg down the Dugg Mirror links. I don't understand why you would do that. They're handy and they're how I accessed this article. Surely I can't be the only one that uses links in comments like that.
- Teej, on 10/12/2007, -9/+23And thank you Word Press for breaking after 51 digs and 6 comments. Awesome.
- Lorian, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17That is a horribly distracting background...
- lewscroo, on 10/12/2007, -10/+22Digg needs to setup a filter so that articles from wordpress cannot be submitted. They are useless.
- GamerSmurf, on 10/12/2007, -21/+32http://www.duggmirror.com/
- mikeyrock, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13I'm considering trying this at home.
- SanTe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Try what at home? Establishing a database connection on a Wordpress site?
- shreveyboy, on 10/12/2007, -4/+8Today it seems that the popular opinion on the craziest thing a person can do with a book is read it.
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm not. (because I can't see the site)
- JasonDelta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Damn, I thought it was a joke - crazy things people do with books....read them. LOL
- MrPresident13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i want that pistol
- MikeDubb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2@lewscroo: it's not completely the fault of WordPress. Blame the server, the server admin, etc.. I've had my blog withstand the digg effect several times. Horray for APC (Alternative PHP Cache)!
- Teej, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Haha, damn, i read that as "BURIED, as destructive as I am."
I agree about the negativity of destroying the books, but there IS some interesting art in there. - ThisIsBob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The web doesn't get any better than this, folks.
- macbth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1another crazy Book
First Edition Emerson
http://www.flickr.com/photos/dembicer/351231975/ - hamjachok, on 10/12/2007, -8/+9great stuff!! i would like to have a collection like this at home.
- cr3ative, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2There aren't many backgrounds that manage to make my door animated when I look at it.
I need a cup of tea. - dustysquareback, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Dang, only 11hours for Godwins Law to kick it. Nice work, Spectral.
- theworldisround, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I love the last one. I saw it on display at the Walker Art Center (it's there right now), but of course I couldn't turn the pages to see the whole book.

"The Art Crisis"
How ironic... - mindfvck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this is an old version of WP and wp-cache doesn`t work there properly, so now it's time to move to WP2.1 and I`m going to optimize my plugin that collects all information about referrers and key phrases, if the referrer is a search engine, thats very hard for MySQL, when server is getting about 20-30 hits per second, thanks to digg`s first page. WP rules! and WP-cache will solve many problems regarding traffic, it is proved - my other site is built on WP and gets 200-300.000 hits daily but it needs only 5-10% of CPU resources
- loudestnoise, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know why, but it makes me sick to look at that first one.
- trashcat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Friday 13th.. Coincidence? No.
- WiseMaster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0make the digg logo with a book and i'll buy it....
- Cronosan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0AAUUGGHH!!! It hurts to see those books destroyed that way.
- corvairkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Insert Fahrenheit 451 reference.
- dclowd9901, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Thankfully, anyone who is checking out this page 3 minutes after it was posted doesn't have to worry about seeing the background, as duggmirror didn't catch it.
- SMITHN4, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Anyone else having a seizure right now?
- resplence, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Even the mirrors are dead.
- Teej, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2@Kupa
Yeah, but sometimes it isn't the owner of the site that submits it to Digg. - BlackMagic2, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3There is a nifty diggmirror extension out there that puts a "diggmirror" link in front of the details (under the description)
The reply button should still be 'up' when the original topic is dugg down :/ - aureliom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Beautiful photographs. Several are on my pics folder which is my screen saver default.
I think I'm going to go get a bunch of books thrift-cheap and take out the cutters...paper Dali's, paper picassos, book kandinskys....exactos for days... - moebel, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5well just - how many libraries they had to dispose to actually start being good at thist? :D
- janmc, on 10/12/2007, -7/+5@moebel - just what I was thinking... probably not a good idea to start with my cherished collection of sci fi ;)
- Rhomboid, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Because people that just post "duggmirror.com" and not the actual URL are useless to those of us that block referers. If you're going to post a duggmirror URL, make it the right one.
- Affect, on 10/12/2007, -6/+4Wordpress is a joke.
- dacurly, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Yep! I would like to do a collection like this :)) If I had more time of course...
- misssporty, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2can't imagine HOW it's possible to create all that!
- seanc6610, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0It's making me want to have a seizure.
- kupa, on 10/12/2007, -6/+3Its fine if people could utilize things like wp-cache. Think its here; http://mnm.uib.es/gallir/wp-cache-2/
lol, you'd think if you thought you'd be digged, or whatever, you'd make sure your site ran ANYKIND of a caching system, I mean seriously. - bdpf, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Destroy a book, destroy a mind...
Better to read the books and learn something.
BURIED as destructive / lam - SpectralSounds, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3The NAZIs did crazy things with books too.
sorry, I had too. - keyboardduder, on 10/12/2007, -10/+3reminds me of myst
