- pvtjohndoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Could this mean that Google finds users exactly what they're looking for while Yahoo is providing lower-quality results forcing them to look around more?

- udayd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't know that that is necessarily an indicated of visitor quality. I would have to agree with pvtjohndoe.
On my busiest site, Google referrals average 4.1 page views, Yahoo referrals average 10.6 page views and all other referrers and direct requests average 11.2 page views. However, it seems like my Google referrals spend more time (on average) on each page and it's obvious by looking at the paths they take that they are not clicking random links trying to find something like my Yahoo visitors.
Therefore, in my opinion, Google is bringing me higher quality visitors because people who find what they're looking for have a higher chance of returning and recommending the site to others than people who don't. - H2SO4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who knew?
- echimu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Google will immediately include your content if they are unique and will be on top 10 list. But yahoo takes year or two before you get on top ten.
Also if you don't find anything using google try yahoo and you may be surprised by the result.
Noise ratio at Google is pretty high as compare to yahoo. - BenDuffy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Exactly what I was thinking!
Yahooers love ugly, sites. Yours must be one too! - SkydiveMike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ow, my arse

Contact? - SalinaWyldcat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1What sort of analysis tool are you using udayd? I'm looking for one that is really good at showing paths.

I use Google Analytics to track visitor paths. - OleksijRak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I do not think that Yahoo brings low quality visitors.
In my example more page impressions per visitor means more interest in web site. Instead of leaving the site immedeately, visitor looks around and may become a member of our community.
For SalinaWyldcat:
I'm using analtics by google. It shows enough results as for me, and it is costless after all. - imitrust, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Come on people...we can all agree that the quality of Google & Yahoo visitors is better than a MySpace visitor.
- BlackVV, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yahoo is possibly sending the better traffic to one of my sites, but it's hard to tell. I really need to use better analytics...
- PPoff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Interesting breakdown for the SEO community.
- OleksijRak, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2BTW, Yahoo brings great visitors, interested in your content.
Simple comparison - visitors from Google browse in average only 3-4 pages on one of our sites. And in the same time Yahoo brings users that browse about 40 pages each. Great difference.
So, there may be some sense in their algorithms. - edwardbc, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1A year? that's only if you have a new site and are trying to rank it in highly competitive keywords. If not, it can take 3 months minimum.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2Gosh, check your lameness.
