- cyrusuncc, on 12/22/2008, -2/+11Cool. i'm going to start using flashing/scrolling text
- ZenNemesis, on 12/22/2008, -2/+6Good article. Gets you thinking ^^.
- msaleem, on 12/22/2008, -2/+5The site's header, exploding with color and design, really exemplifies the central idea of the post.
- jotux, on 12/22/2008, -0/+3Don't forget the staple of every great website: the scrolling marquee.
- ImOnYourTeam, on 12/22/2008, -0/+3It felt like my first day on the job, watching a corporate training video.

- slayersotaku, on 12/22/2008, -2/+4I think most people understand to explore new things, but reading something like this helps to remind us. For a few years I refused to use gradients because they became rather evil. On my newest project I tried using them and the site is turning out more classy than I intended. Now if I can move away from using blues and find some other elegant colors I'll feel better. however, as far as body text is concerned, it's hard to move away from the usual tahoma, arial and verdana.
- Jarasmen, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2Needs more animated gifs.
- PabloMac, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2Silly me. I thought they were all the same guy.
- pathouston22, on 12/22/2008, -0/+2Indeed it is. Me = fail
- Mental24, on 12/22/2008, -1/+3I posted the article - sorry you guys didn't like the stock photos - will take into consideration for next time - i just felt that it made the post more interesting - thanks anyway, i appreciate the feedback and comments from all! i'm always learning, too! :)
- punkcat, on 12/22/2008, -0/+1i think we found his rut.
- drgn, on 12/22/2008, -1/+2How could anybody take this article about "design" serious when it is decorated with the most stupid photos one can think of? A paragraph containing the word "goal" of course needs a photo of a real "goal", right? LOL!! This only gets excelled by the metaphor about last year's jacket and how "styles" change ... Of couse, if you think "design" is about putting the latest visual crap around something, this article might help. In any other case it is a terrible insult.
- smackjack, on 12/22/2008, -1/+2If you're stuck in a rut, there are a few challenges you can try. For instance you could try designing a site with no images or make an entire website 100px by 100px
- notmv80, on 12/22/2008, -0/+1whoops, body text...I retract that last statement
- punkcat, on 12/22/2008, -0/+1and even more generic stock images.
- nalguita, on 12/22/2008, -3/+3I remember a while back I was doing the 2Advanced-style on everything. Oh man... took some work to grow out of that.
- tomprocter, on 01/04/2009, -0/+0"Change. Yes We Can"
- iceblizz, on 12/22/2008, -1/+1It's the same person.
- latexsolarbeef, on 12/22/2008, -1/+1Yes, I am aware of the highly-advanced photoshop techniques kids are into these days. It's the same guy, hooray we're all geniuses.
The guy (same guy--I know) in the foreground of the photo in #4 has like eight toes on his right foot.
I'm sorry this was such a confusing concept. - dshPls, on 12/22/2008, -2/+2Is using really ***** stock photography good advice too?
- notmv80, on 12/22/2008, -0/+0Don't forget Helvetica!
- pathouston22, on 12/22/2008, -1/+0I was more focused on how they are going to land on top of each other and break each others neck or something.
- inactive, on 12/22/2008, -4/+2I am going to jump out of an air plane now thanks!!!
- latexsolarbeef, on 12/22/2008, -4/+1#4. What the hell is up with that guy's right foot??
- inactive, on 12/22/2008, -7/+0Definently gets you thinking. Good post!
