- sndream, on 08/05/2008, -2/+9This Ecopolis look like something from a disaster movie. At the beginning of the movie, the narrator will stress that nothing can go wrong with a Ecopolis in the middle of the ocean. Then in 5-10 mins, all hell broke loose.
- omgsideburns, on 08/05/2008, -2/+8It's like a big ark... for hippies.
- joejoeknows, on 08/05/2008, -0/+5Not exactly. Watch the videos of the Tsunami that hit India a few years back. The water rises quickly but it's not anything like a huge tidal wave. So the thing would just rise with the water.
- tdilworth, on 08/05/2008, -1/+5reminds me of SimCity 2000

It will look just like a normal *small* wave as all the action happens under the surface. When it reaches the coast, the water is not deep enough and the wave starts to rise.
- Haohmaru, on 08/05/2008, -0/+1Wow, that's like poetry man.

- uptwolait, on 08/05/2008, -3/+1That would be a really awesome place to live, right up to the point where a hurricane blows a couple dozen of them into each other.
- takameyer, on 08/05/2008, -3/+1I can't wait to ride those rollercoasters on the side. Eco-life is gonna be sweet!

2. Wouldn't it be like 100 times cheaper to move people 2 miles inland? - david76, on 08/05/2008, -5/+2Certainly beats floating around on the Exxon Valdez.

- 1807, on 08/05/2008, -6/+1D'ho! I thought it was going to tell me how I could design a Marvel Comics Charecter.
- coyote1284, on 08/05/2008, -7/+2Rapture?
- drape, on 08/05/2008, -6/+1The earth will be ecologically worse off building and maintaining these structures than without them. I dont see these things improving the planet in any ecological way other than to shift existing human consumerism into the ocean.
A pretentious example "ECO" marketing. - cobophers, on 08/04/2008, -10/+3Yeah but if you build it, will they come?
Will dirt be a commodity? And if so will people drink their own filtered urine? Or am I just thinking of something else....nevermind.
***** you two of my friends died designing a floating ecopolis.
IC what I did there.
Anything else I can throw around 4channers?
