- Hodor, on 12/17/2008, -2/+58they look neat, but I can't imagine they sound very good.
- Peko, on 12/17/2008, -2/+47yo dawg we herd you liked firefighters so we put yo' sound system in a fire fighting system so you can pump it up when you pump it up.
/waitwat? - digmystuff, on 12/17/2008, -2/+40A+ for creativity D- for sound quality
- KingVegas702, on 12/17/2008, -3/+28THE ROOF THE ROOF THE ROOF IS ON FIRE!!!
- dylio, on 12/17/2008, -0/+22Metal casing, ugh. Gonna make it sound terrible.
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -3/+21I'll bet these guys could make a sweet bong!
- defenswens26, on 12/17/2008, -1/+12Since its already running slow, here's the Google cache just in case:

- liljay2k, on 12/17/2008, -0/+9You took the words right off of my keyboard.
- vtbarrera, on 02/03/2009, -1/+10That's one cool speaker enclosure.
- x060t, on 12/17/2008, -0/+7Sorry, but even here in Russia they don't make wooden fire extinguishers.
- digmystuff, on 12/17/2008, -0/+7"Seems like they could be tinny"
You hit it on the head. Plus there are calculated dimensions and acoustics that go into building a quality enclosure, it's clear in this case that creativity came first, acoustics second. - burstaneurysm, on 12/17/2008, -0/+7I read that four times trying to make sense of it. There's no hope.
- TheScreamer, on 12/17/2008, -0/+7like it's coming out of a.... tin...can....
<groan> - randmcnally, on 12/17/2008, -0/+5...and we can't put it out because our fire extinguisher is all effed up.
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+5I good has grammar
- UnFriendlyFire, on 12/17/2008, -0/+5You get more mileage from a cheap pair of speakers.
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+5*HOT speaker enclosure.
- chriswilson08, on 12/17/2008, -0/+5he lined it with some sort of damping material if you look closely in the second or third photo
- mk3k, on 12/17/2008, -0/+5He didn't, I think it's sneakers.
- rickblank, on 12/17/2008, -0/+4You did not just quote Billy Joel.
- MisterEX, on 12/17/2008, -0/+4I wish I had the kind of time, space, tools and expertise to do this kind of stuff. Awesome.
- SteaminTmann, on 12/17/2008, -1/+5Especially given the amount of work that went into making them..
- x060t, on 12/17/2008, -0/+4FYI, "01" is a phone of fire crew in Russia.
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+4why bother putting good speakers in there, they will still sound awful.
- rickblank, on 12/17/2008, -0/+4Whew. Got worried that I actually knew that.
Don’t waste your money on a new set of speakers,
you get more mileage from a cheap pair of sneakers
Next phase, new wave, dance craze, anyways.
It´s still rock and roll to me. - RadiatedAnt, on 12/17/2008, -0/+3he should have lined it with fiber board :(
- videocrew, on 12/17/2008, -0/+3Speakers don't need to have a "hole." There is no need for the air inside to get out, the vibrating speaker will just compress the air inside and provide additional damping for the woofers. These $30,000 speakers don't have a "hole" either, it's just not necessary for many speakers. http://www.magico.net/?d=03_Products/03_Mini_II/in ...
- spitfire5637, on 12/17/2008, -0/+3that made me laugh
thank you - Namco, on 12/17/2008, -0/+3He accidentally the whole post!
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+3Home made amplifiers can be very good, and digital amplifiers are so efficient they dont need huge capacitors, especially with SMPS
- Nath2k8, on 12/17/2008, -1/+4WE DONT NEED NUTHIN' BUT THE WEED AND A LIGHTER
- videocrew, on 12/17/2008, -0/+3Let's see, a couple mismatched woofers, a few tweeters, no crossovers, no real enclosure design, nope Vladmir, shouldn't have any comb filtering issues at all!
As an FYI, speaker enclosures made of metal can sound great. But not thin, ringing aluminum like this. And not for less than $100,000 apparently: http://www.magico.net/?d=03_Products/04_Model_6 - geoman2k, on 12/17/2008, -0/+2craftsmanship ftw
- deenoop, on 12/17/2008, -1/+3DIY my ass.
- ayeroxor, on 12/17/2008, -0/+2Love EnglishRussia. One of the few sites that I'll partially forgive them for being too stupid to use a real image host.
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -0/+2OHHHHHHHHHHH that meme is supposed to be Xzhibit? I get it now. Very funny.
- motox16, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2yeah my sub is in a sealed box and it hasn't gone bad, sealed boxes are actually better for more accurate sound. You can use car speakers for a home theater as long as you match up the resistance. 8 ohms is most common for home theaters as 4 and 2 ohms is for car speakers. You can use 4 ohms speakers but you would need 2 speakers per channel wired in a parallel. That way 4 ohms + 4 ohms can equal 8 ohms and you wouldn't blow ur amp. Course it's obviously cheaper and easier to use home speakers with 8 ohms resistance but using car speakers for a home theater can be done. That box actually might not sound too bad because he did put dampening material on the inside.
- inactive, on 12/18/2008, -0/+2I'm pretty sure your computer knew to get the data from 67.159.29.230. Welcome to the tubes!
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+21 speaker in the middle and one at the end of a metal "organ pipe" thats going to sound great.
if your making an organ. - motox16, on 12/19/2008, -0/+2You could wire 2, 4 ohm speakers in a parallel per channel like what he did there (at least I hope he did) so that way he can match the resistance with the amp.
- moshingmonster, on 12/18/2008, -0/+2My dad will love this, since he's a fireman.
- ausdigger, on 09/15/2009, -0/+2sealed enclosures do exist, and are quite common. however this design is just for looks only, and probably sounds crap with a metal enclosure, and the cheapo padding they used
- iPoul, on 12/18/2008, -0/+1Its the new cool.
- dancun, on 12/19/2008, -0/+1Wow, that guys rocks! There's really really nice, and very well made to! :) +1 for inventiveness and +1 for recycling! :D
- haentz, on 12/18/2008, -1/+2The protective gloves are turned around...
- fredtheman, on 12/17/2008, -1/+2It's not what I'd choose, but you have to admit it's nice work
- inactive, on 12/17/2008, -0/+1i really could not be bothered to call it a "port". anyone in IT will know the amount of times you say port in a day.
