In the UK it's Guy Fawkes night, we get cookie monster... disappointing. - HyperJack, on 11/05/2009, -0/+3I think a V for Vendetta themed google logo would have been pretty cool for Guy Fawkes night.
- jakeorhodes, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2Cookie Monster should become a heavy metal singer. He's got the voice for it and an addictive personality!
- imtheone989, on 11/06/2009, -0/+2I give google props for having cookies for him to destroy rather than the health food people were pushing on sesame street a few years back. Google +1
- borez, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2But... do we celebrate the fact that somebody tried to overthrow the establishment, or that the establishment burned him at the stake... this is the question.
I myself prefer the former.
And if you look at it that way, it's better then celebrating the celtic festival of the walking dead with a lantern (pumpkin) which FTR was left after the druids took your first born child and slaughtered it to remind other druids not to take your other children. - matt9m5, on 11/05/2009, -0/+2True, but considering that Guy Fawkes wasn't the single mastermind of the plot, it's a little sour to go on commemorating this day in his name anyway.
- tusharpant, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1this ones is cool
- FattyMagee, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1And the story leaves the front page in an hour or two.
- FishThePirate, on 11/06/2009, -0/+1Oh man, I'm glad to see someone post the front page of a website that nearly everyone on the entire Internet frequents on a regular basis.
Twice, no less. - dasunst3r, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1I hope they feature Elmo soon.
- txinfo, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1Ernie rules. He was and still is my favorite of all the Sesame Street characters.
- borez, on 11/05/2009, -1/+1It most certainly would have been.
- kypronite, on 11/06/2009, -1/+1pedobear
- wizardfingers, on 11/05/2009, -2/+2Ernie is awesome!
- wpf999, on 11/05/2009, -0/+0I'm all for challenging the Establishment, but in that case it was a Protestant Establishment and Catholics attempting to overthrow it. I think we're supposed to be celebrating the failure of the plotters. FYI: he wasn't burned at the stake but hanged, drawn and quartered - not something I feel like celebrating, though!
- Parabol, on 11/05/2009, -2/+1Dugg for Cookie Monster.
- RegalBegal, on 11/05/2009, -5/+4Coincidentally, I wore my shirt.woot shirt of Cookie Monster hitting rock bottom. Awesome.

Press enter to search - erichw1504, on 11/05/2009, -6/+1Doctor: "What are these? (looking at what are at bag of cookies from under his bed)"
Cookie Monster: "Uh, I don't know"
Doctor: "I think you do know"
Cookie Monster: "I-I-I don't know how they got there, well Derek was in here changing the sheets and he probably put them there" (freaks out and starts eating the cookies until they sedate him) - jmb93, on 11/05/2009, -7/+2mirror: google.com
- FattyMagee, on 11/05/2009, -6/+1Wouldn't it make more sensor just to link right to Google's homepage rather then an image of their homepage...
- blitzwing85, on 11/05/2009, -5/+0Google is a "sometimes food".
