Comfy IKEA Train Makes Me Want to Move to the Subway
gizmodo.com — IKEA has outfitted a train in Kobe with sofas and curtains probably named things like Oompa-loompa, Svenssonjohansensson, Frida, and Bucarest. Unfortunately, the makeover is temporary, to mark the opening of a new shop in the city

- pentupentropy, on 04/10/2008, -18/+3Digging this because when I send a shout I expect the favor returned, but I'm not an IKEA fan. Aren't they the ones who discontinued letting their employee work under false pretense, then he went home and killed himself? Not loving that I never saw any letters or statements from them regarding how much they screwed up on that one.
- theAlice, on 04/10/2008, -0/+9digg because you like the article, not because you're trading favors. -_-
- robbh66, on 04/10/2008, -1/+3Yes, content should certainly be dugg because of favors and not because of the content of the article- you ***** douche bag.
With that said- I lived in an Ikea apartment in undergrad- looks nice for a year then you realize what crap it all is.
The πkea robot said it best: "Thank you for buying our affordable swedish crap." (Wheel falls off, shelf falls down, door opens unintentionally) - badwithcomputer, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1i enjoy the shout system for helping out friends and getting stuff dugg in return sometimes, but your comment just comes off as painfully irritating to me. also, digg has done a great job of weighing down submissions that have a lot of shouts behind them. it definitely levels the playing field and almost discourages excessive shouts.
- richardhenry, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1The sweet smell of a dumbass and corruption.
- yokozuka, on 04/10/2008, -3/+6Add a bar, some music, and have a lounge club to go. Single-serving friends welcome.
- haruhisuzu, on 04/10/2008, -2/+5I just think about how that would turn out in London, then again they'd just rip that tube down to shreds within a couple of days (or minutes) anyway... :/
- relic180, on 04/10/2008, -6/+2I went to an IKEA for the first time a few weeks ago. On a Sunday. It was one of the scariest things I've ever seen.
- WildWildEast, on 04/12/2008, -0/+2Now, finding a person who's never been to an Ikea before....that's scary!
- louiebaur, on 04/10/2008, -4/+3Ikea is a good place to blow a bunch of money on stuff you don't need leave the girlfriend of wife at home
- silvermaadi, on 04/10/2008, -2/+1I wonder if this would be free?! But one thing is for sure IKEA keeps coming up with some nice and out of the box advertisment ideas.

- Calcularius, on 04/10/2008, -1/+2You'd move there and within 12 months all of that cheap crap would be broken.
- Alix7, on 04/10/2008, -1/+2Homeless people and drug dealers have scored a major point!
- chewbie, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Whilst your comment is funny, you forget that the train is in Japan

- chewbie, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2my supervisor who is gay had this to say when I showed him:
"absolutely fabulous!" . I refused to comment - danconia, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1I give it a week before half the stuff is missing and the other half is ripped up with graffiti on it. Then again maybe the Japanese aren't into completely destroying anything of value like we are over here in the states.
- danconia, on 04/10/2008, -0/+2Oops double-post. Digg me down and get off on the sadism. Punish me yeah!!
- eliot2000, on 04/10/2008, -2/+1An Ikea train? Forget it. No way I'm getting on - The allen screws will come out over time, a couple sheets of plywood will loosen and it will fall apart eventually. On the upside, I bet they'll name the train something like Blerg.
- akhomerun, on 04/10/2008, -1/+1***** ikea and their cheap swedish *****.
while on the subject of *****, ***** the RIAA! - KhanneaNL, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1CLEARLY a more civilized country and mine or the US.
- rogueyak, on 04/10/2008, -0/+1I am not sure why everyone says this looks more comfortable than a normal japanese subway... the seats are just the same benches normally on japanese subways with a different print, and a box around the hand rail on the end with the same print on it. Pretty sweet to see the inside without all the adds though, and the outside/curtains are nice too i guess.
