- dwamn, on 10/11/2007, -6/+195I'm pretty sure satan requested a ferarri cake.
- Nudar, on 10/11/2007, -11/+171Just don't let any dead serial killers near it.
- Renegade.eit, on 10/11/2007, -11/+135At least this beats a Ford cake. I tried to eat a piece the other day and the whole thing just fell apart. Truly disappointing.
- spiffyfitz, on 10/11/2007, -3/+85Can you believe this mustache is real? (1 pic)
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v442/iftk/10/07_bakeacar_32707.jpg - vroom101, on 10/11/2007, -6/+85Two questions:
1. How long did to mix-up, form, and bake that cool looking Car-Cake?
2. Did it taste good? - silverchrysalis, on 10/11/2007, -5/+82and then, for our grand finale, a mini cooper will burst from the center of this cake!
- ACrazyGerman, on 10/11/2007, -5/+80The fuel of the future is Gum Drops!
- fredxor, on 10/11/2007, -7/+72At least this cake is better than an Acura cake.
- tizz66, on 10/11/2007, -3/+67Some Skoda jokes for your delectation:
How do you double the value of a Skoda ?
Fill the tank !
Why does a Skoda have a double rear window heater ?
To keep everyones hands warm when they are pushing it !
Whats the difference between a Skoda and a sheep?
It's less embarassing being caught getting out the back of a sheep.
What do you call a Skoda at the the top of a hill ?
A miracle.
Why do Skodas need two spare wheels ?
So you can cycle home !
(Admittedly their more recent cars are actually pretty good) - 2Deluxe, on 10/11/2007, -5/+68frimple, you fail at internet.
- digg-dugg, on 10/11/2007, -5/+57but. its not a ferarri cake..
- MikeCampo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+54I agree.
- tizz66, on 10/11/2007, -2/+47It cost £500,000 ($1million) to make and is completely real. You can view the ad by going to http://www.skoda.co.uk or http://www.newfabia.co.uk/ and clicking the corner of the photo on the homepage.
- Shaggy3, on 10/11/2007, -4/+49How old you have to be to get a cake like that?
- duke, on 10/11/2007, -3/+45Now who can argue with that?
- chrisbosh123, on 10/11/2007, -6/+46At least you won't go hungry when your lost in that car ^.^
- moofer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+40I think I'll wait till the hybrid version comes out - part cake, part pudding.
I like pudding. - L4WL3RS34L, on 10/11/2007, -5/+42@frimple
It's not funny when you say where it's from. It's a joke you either get, or you don't. - aflusche, on 10/11/2007, -3/+32Does it come with a garage-oven?
- diggduggjoe, on 10/11/2007, -4/+32At least, we know how the Willie Wonka / BMW merger panned out.
- schadenfreude56, on 10/11/2007, -1/+28Ripped from a commercial:

But Acuras are really nice! - tizz66, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Nope, it's golden syrup.
- HenvY, on 10/11/2007, -1/+19Quote from Skoda UK: "We had planned to cut the cake car up and distribute it to local charities, schools and hospitals. Unfortunately, however, as the car had been under hot studio lights for several days, it would have posed a health and safety risk if eaten. We did preserve some parts though, such as the marzipan wing-mirrors and chocolate speedometer. The rest of the car was composted and will be used by residents of Clapton, East London, to fertilise their gardens and allotments."
- slave25637, on 10/11/2007, -1/+17which was in the videos section
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -4/+20i wonder if it lasts longer than a real one in a wet environment?
- ninjafide, on 10/11/2007, -2/+18Now all they need to do is build a car that runs on dreams and imagination...
- themoose, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16For those who're wondering it's from a Skoda ad which is currently being shown in the UK.
Ad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwBE1l6QexU - Balk2K, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15I was wondering why the pics all look so cheesy and fake, but when I read that it was made for an ad it made more sense.
- swiftekho, on 10/11/2007, -9/+19@digg-dugg
At least its not an Acura cake - kidcoconut, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10Sadly, it will be involved in an "eat and run" accident. The driver owes his life to the marshmallow air-bags.
- chipset, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Ukrainian language for the win :) He said something like, "Right, it's pretty sad".
- robz0r, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Does the cake get more then 30MPG?
- StuartGibson, on 06/14/2009, -1/+8It wouldn't really be much of an advert for the new Skoda Fabia if they made a different car.
- jmreid, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Isn't that what hybrid cars run on? Maybe I'm mistaken...
- olenick, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9WTF gives with impressive cakes on Digg lately? I mean, cool ... I guess. But I'd bet there are other things that are more interesting.
- TexanPsycho, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Oddly enough, it does more MPG than an average American car.
- goatfucker, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Here's a link to the making of video: Baking of the Skoda Fabia Car Cake

Looks like it is in fact a real, edible cake. - RokstaNorth, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7THAT dudes Mustache in pic #7 is Freaking Awesome!
- Margh, on 10/11/2007, -4/+7I thought your comment was silly, but then I realised I felt exactly the same way.
- alsp, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4@quami16: This is an advertising campaign. Clearly it has not been a "giant waste of time" as you put it, by reaching viral places like the Digg homepage and being highly rated after a week on YouTube...
- psykiv, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5My grandfather is a master baker. My friend owns a bakery, and I have worked for a bakery before (not as a baker though) and I can't even begin to fathom the amount of work that was put into that. I will definitely show them this tomorrow. Simply amazing.
- cadams, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Reminds me of "Mike's Amazing Cakes". It was an article I think on slashdot years back. It took me a little while to realize I walked by it daily on the way to my favorite teriyaki joint. It also reminds me of that horror inspired gore cakes that were posted a long ways back. Really very creative and inspiring.

They're Coming
http://www.theyrecoming.com/extras/pumpkinfest03/ - anj747, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3No idea why you've been dug down. Maybe Lada fanboys are feeling jealous?
- ccanni1028, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Because a real engine would be too heavy to put inside?
- FuriousGopher, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3I love how in frame 7, the baker is pouring "oil" into the engine
- ccanni1028, on 10/11/2007, -0/+215 hours is long enough to wait, so...
Oh my god, the car killed Kenny! - SteelFrog, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2...saintin?
- apurvsqc, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1Amazing.. You gotta get over it!
