- DeskFlyer, on 10/11/2007, -9/+43Where does the submitter (or anyone else for that matter) imply that this was the first time this technology has ever been developed or utilized? Anyway, this will be on a much larger scale than Jeep's puny display and it is going to look badass, so DUGG.
- KWhat, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25I am sure this will be real popular in Seattle.
- ruscoe, on 10/11/2007, -0/+21What happens when the wind picks up?
- egbert, on 10/11/2007, -1/+21This has been done before (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kL1K3mZ5rFI ) but this will be on a much larger scale and much more interactive.
- allaboutdatiki, on 10/11/2007, -6/+26strangely, watching this made me want to take a leak ...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20Watching the end freaked me out, just wait until the sensors don't pick me up and crush me into the floor.
- joeconway, on 10/11/2007, -18/+36this has already been done, i think it was in a jeep showroom
- carpespasm, on 10/11/2007, -0/+17precision controlled wet t-shirt contests?
- aoe2bug, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15atleast you could go out tomb-raider style. or indiana jones.
- Lazyboy0172, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15I'd hate to break it to you, but a wall made of water aint keepin no one out.
- specialK16, on 10/11/2007, -1/+15This is cool, but the title is completely misleading.
- aoe2bug, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14I thought that too at first but this is much more than a display, it is a whole pavilion. I think the video is really neat, especially how it (seems to) "open" automatically when people approach, and how it can raise/lower to isolate the displays
- TehSwat, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14Simple yet awesome idea. Can't wait to see some real pictures and videos.
- jtbandes, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Water? It even FALLS FROM THE SKY, it's so renewable! And it's not like they won't take the fallen water and pump it back to the top.
- h4mx0r, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Imagine opening and closing doors!
Sure it ain't practical, but it's a nice show off. - ElegantFiend, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9You know you live in an affluent society when walls are made of fresh water.
- JoVoCop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9For those who are curious....here's the Jeep's display: http://youtube.com/watch?v=TOgYJk50MJM
- handsoffme, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10they just had to go and one-up jesus....
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6made me think of what would happen on a windy day.
- doddilus, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6yea i can see it now:

- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7Well, you're lucky. My chair is soaking.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6Except shy girls wearing white t-shirts.
- Nick22, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6How about you take a gr. 8 science course instead of making yourself look like a idiot.
- rukki, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5That would be ridiculously loud unless they've come up with a better splash-dampening system than jeep used.
- geekchick82, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6That would be awesome! I hope the real thing lives up to the hype.
And, yeah, if you've seen it (or something like it) before, just move on - don't whine about it. - DeFex, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5I hope there is not a software bug causing it to drop down and squish all the people inside.
- chingy1788, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5replace water with acid, and there's a possible solution
- jvq1958, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Sydney Harbour Tunnel has something similar. They have a "water curtain" that covers the entire entrance to the tunnel and they use laser light to paint a huge STOP sign on it. The main use is to stop doped up truck drivers who dont respond to conventional signs advising them they are over height. A big stop sign across the entrance stops them from driving over height trucks into the tunnel pretty quickly!
- iXneonXi, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7I saw stuff similar to this a while back, water can be very entertaining. http://digg.com/gadgets/Jeep_s_amazing_ink_jet_waterfall
- ptrcd003, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5@ stealth
are you retarted or just can't read (..both?)
He was showing an example of one that has been done before, and is saying the one in the article will be LARGER and more interactive. Now go steal a tomato or something. - ATH025, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Dur...
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4It will keep dry people out.
- arnar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That should be possible. The slit where the water goes down could be deeper and gently curved, perhaps made of soft rubber - that should cut down on the noise.
- xenex11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3a hotel made of ice uses water for walls, this building is not "made" of water at all!!
- hfactor, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Yeah. Gotta keep those friggin visitors outta your Expo pavillon.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That impresses me more than the building waterfall actually, and I was pretty impressed by it. Always good to see actual useful applications of technology, instead of simply on display. That's how we move into the future faster, by being less in awe of it and simply use it!
- SmilingJess, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3on a smaller scale, this could be really cool in a backyard or garden.
throw in some back lighting - all software based - I could deal with that - Atomic1fire, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3to bad there cant be some kind of webtoy to do the same thing online
- doshindude, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Still trying to figure out why that site has an "images" section and a separate "pictures" section.....what's the difference between a picture and an image???
- otatop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Retarted's always a good one.
- CDoug03, on 10/11/2007, -2/+4I wonder if Oasis is going to shoot for another single, this time called Waterwall?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Yes, they do, but people have chosen to Dugg you down because they are ill-informed.
*Sighs at Digg* - Benjin, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2the roof goes down
- oldcyborg, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2when I see it, I will believe it is, at least, possible. Mock ups don't do much for me anymore...
Hell, you could make one out of sewage, and clear the air about all of this.....
Cyborg - techmaster7b, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2My God, how many times is something like this going to be shown. Okay, we got it. Pictures and patterns can be formed from falling water. Stop putting different patterns in it and calling it a new idea. I would think these people would be a little smarter.
- arnar, on 10/11/2007, -0/+1>>> isinstance(picture, image)
